L-canceling. Please, for the love of science Sakurai, let us have SHFFL'd nooch combos again.

A better replay feature. Save over 3 mins, rewind, slow-mo...

I really hope the Records Menu is back. I like seeing who the Punching Bad is and who the Smash Champ is!

Not exactly small... More like medium...

How about online tournaments for Home Run Contest and stuff? For 24 hours, you try to get the best score you possibly can. Winners receive lots of trophies, coins, etc.

The character interactions would be great. Little Mac's only line of dialogue could be an insult towards DK!
Stuff like this is awesome. Sonic could brag about how he'd never lose to Mega Man or R.O.B. because they're robots. Charizard's entrance animation could be taking a nap when fighting Pikachu. DK could possibly show distain for Bowser and Charizard for being reptiles.

Cross post from another thread:

Why don't we try to come up with new modes? I've been a bit underwhelmed with that last game's modes so I thought this could be an interesting exercise.

King of the Hill: A timed game of 3 or 4 minutes. The hill moves around the stage (more hectic on moving stages) and whoever has the most time accumulated in the Hill wins.

Capture the flag (only playable on big stages): A team game. Flags spawn on either side of the stages. You have to run over to your opponents side and walk over their flag to grab it and bring it back to your base/flag. If an opponent hits you, the flag automatically drops and resets after 10 seconds. You can only score a point if your flag is at your base.

Tag: The game randomly chooses one player to be it at the start. That person has a sticky bomb on them. They need to tag and transfer the bomb to another player before it explodes. Everyone is invincible to player attacks. Only the bomb will kill you - and you can die from another player exploding near you. Everyone has one stock. Whoever the bomb explodes on is K.O.'ed and out. If there are players left after the first explosion another player is randomly chosen to be "it". Game continues like this until there is a winner.

Soccer
: There are two big goals on either side of the stage that kind of stretch up vertically. One soccer ball. Again a team game. You must hit the ball into the opposing team's goal. You can block a shot by jumping into (and getting hit by) the flame soccer ball. The stage is separated into two zones, much like the classic dodge-ball games for SNES, meaning you cannot go past the middle section of the stage. This can be played on a unique stage (like home-run contest) or fitted onto the many Final Destination variations.

Unlockable, additional announcers.
Customizable victory themes.
Customizable entrances.
Maybe music for some final smashes.
Character interactions, with victory screens reflecting these

And, I've always thought about this, and it's kind of a bigger thing, but the ability to re-skin (really, re-model entirely) characters to look like they did in previous titles. Same hitboxes and whatnot on moves (that's the hard part) and movesets wouldn't change, but that gets me to my further thinking..

.. of how interesting it'd be to have some fangasm, impossible release with all the titles put together, and character physics being relative to the iteration of the fighter you've chosen.

Embarrassing tidbit: I've had this idea since the early Melee days, and I called it "Super Smash Bros. Gold". Find my shame for me, if you can.

New to the forum scene, I myself always wanted group taunts. Team matches are scarcely seen around my group of friends, and I always wanted more incentive to play 2v2's. There could be default ones, such as a simple nod to each other, or franchise/combo taunts such as Link playing his ocarina whilst Zelda or Sheik plays the harp.

It's the little additions that always seem to be the most enjoyable.

A lot of things.
  • Animated character models in CSS, similar to the original game.
  • Custom color editor for characters. Have us pick each piece of clothing accessible and give us a color wheel to change it however we want. Let us customize the colors of alternate costumes as well.
  • Very high setting for items similar to Melee where items would spawn in ridiculous numbers to the point where you couldn't even reach them all.
  • The return of Stage Builder (this is "big" in my opinion), which has a wider variety of parts and backgrounds and now lets you change the stage boundaries, since they were always too big even in the smallest stage setting in Brawl. Update the game with packs of new parts via periodic DLC (free or paid, I don't care).
  • Have the option to turn off stage hazards, so if we want, we can play on the stage as is without some boss or whatever crashing the party. Making every stage Final Destination doesn't solve this...
  • Please have a better variety of Pokeball Pokemon spawns. Getting continuous repeats of Munchlax, Weavile, etc. in Brawl was not fun.
  • In addition to custom movesets, let us equip our characters with stickers (like Brawl) for further customization. However, stickers shouldn't just be stat boosts. They should also have negative side effects, such as a stat reduction or some other effect. Let us take our customized character in online random battles, but make separate modes for those who would rather not play with custom movesets.
That's all for now.

Wonder if they could include special team names and possibly certain color combinations for certain pairs. Mario and Luigi could choose to stay in their red and green outfits and the announcer could refer to them as the Mario Bros instead of their teams color, and DK and Diddy would be the DK Crew, etc.

The first thing that comes to my mind is:

- jiggle physics for Zero Suit Samus's life and hometown

Seriously, when they are that big and don't move at all during her movement... it just looks very weird. Besides, jiggle physics are perfectly fine with a T rating.

How can that NOT jiggle?

NO JIGGLE PHYSICS FOR ZSS

Another suggestion could be a MAX setting for items. At all times, from the start of the match til the end, the stage has the maximum amount of items possible. When one disappears, another comes to take its place.

One thing. When two-four people are playing on the Wii U, a person can come in with the GamePad and be the "stage master". They can control/activate bosses and hazards, spawn items, choose which assist trophies/Pokeballs to erupt from their respective items, etc.

Seriously, why not? It just looks weird when such big buttocks and boobs don't move at all. I'm not talking Dead or Alive physics here, but when you curves such as Samus, it just looks weird if they're all stiff.

Back in Smash 64 when the character portraits were actually the character models rotating around instead of just renders, and when you selected them they did a victory pose to show how they had been readied up. I always thought that looked pretty cool and would like that to return.

I would like to see a lot of alternate costumes. And i don't mean color only, more like:
Link: Oni Link
Mario: Fire Mario(like in brawl), Ice mario. Maybe even Boomerang brother suit.(Same For Luigi)
You know, only visually different. Not functionally.

I'd like a mode akin to "Team Battle" in Tekken. It'd need a different name though.

I think the models contain so much data nowadays that it would result in irritating load times when highlighting different characters. On the N64, the models were very simple and the N64 also used cartrdiges=zero load times.

Yeah, me too! Alternate outfits would be great DLC - I would be ready to pay money for a "female pack", heh heh.

I don't think loading up models on Wii U character select screen would be a problem. Tekken 6 did this on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and the Wii U is more powerful.

I haven't played Tekken 6. Did they load instantly?

And how about being able to change the frequency per item. Like much mushrooms, less Smash balls.

I can't recall, but it was no slog. Maybe a brief second. Keep in mind that Tekken 6 had an extremely realistic art style. Not only that, but the character select screen there was a 3D environment.
