What kind of player do you need to be?

Honestly, what kind of player do you need to be to use Snake. My friends state:

"You need to be very strategic with Snake... a lot-- no most of his attacks are not direct... you need to be smart..."

This... I believe, but I'm not sure... the reason I believe this? Because I've tried Snake and he's is quite difficult to use without training.

Anyways, what do you Snake mains or people who know how to use him have to say?

You should practise ftilt in training mode for a few hours and then switch to utilt lol.
Throw some nades and congrats: You learned Snake.

nah srsly: I say you have to be patient, if your too hasty and just rush in you won't do good.

lol. Seriously though, what people have mentioned already, smart, patience, and general knowledge of other characters.

And being an MGS fan never hurts ^^

Go to Book Depot and pick up Terrorism For Dummies. Then you'll be playing Snake at the highest level.

...But yeah, you have to be a patient player and always know the stage. Know where your explosives are, know where to plant them, etc.

Just play how you want to play dude. You can stand back and throw grenades and force them to approach. You can run up and shield...You can spam nairs, slowly walk back and forth etc. Just do whatever you feel is right. There's no "real" way to play a character.
