What kind of moveset would you give Lucas?

This is something I tend to think about not just for Lucas but for most characters as well. So I decided to see if my fellow smashboards thought about this as well and wonder if theyd like to share.
A lot of us Lucas mains are very dissatisfied with the way Lucas's metagame is. If you could somehow change his movepool to fit your satisfactory playstyle, what kind of changes would you make? Neutral A? Upsmash? Specials? Final Smash? Taunts? Throws? No instant kills of course. We don't want to break him. xD
Just go ahead and throw out what your imagination wishes he had. xD
I would atleast try to change that Grab of his 0.o And Upsmash to something atleast not so laggy. What about you?

I always wanted to change Lucas's moveset, I don't find something wrong with it, but the specials annoy me, cuz they're like Ness's to me. Here is how I would lay his moves out:

Specials:

Neutral - PSI Counter: from Mother 3, it was so broken
Side - Same
Down - PSI Shield: from Mother 3, Lucas always learned these defensive type moves
Up - Same

Aerials:

Up - PSI Powered backflip
Side - Same
Neutral - SAME, DUH
Down - SAME, DUH

Grab:

Definitely needs to be faster, and his grabs can be a little more powerful

Standard Moveset:

Everything can be the same except the Dash Attack, way to predictable and easily shieldgrabbed, maybe can be something like.....some fast double PSI Hexagon attack, something like Peach's, but with PSI Power attached. UP SMASH NEEDS TO BE FASTER AND LESS LAGGY, LIKE IVY'S!!!

Final Smash:

What FK7 said, PK Love Omega, except not as overpowered lol

I'm not sure if that's good, but I would rater Lucas be something like that. =/

I agree with Yoshi he should have a faster Dash attack since Dash attacks are good approaches for some. And Lucas could really use more of those.
And I think your Specials were good to. xD I probably would have done the same.

Just make his usmash come out on frame 9 and I'm good.....
Nah jk. :p The only move I don't like from Lucas is PK Freeze. I say change it to PK Counter. Be pretty fun to walk around with a inbeatable shield. XD

Change Final Smash to PK Love Omega. Use it, all opponents take 110%, and are Star KO'd.
Undodgeable too. It would look like a giant Smart Bomb with many white hexagons.

I'd say YK has a good moveset list, I'd just go with that.

Very yes to PK Love for Final Smash.

Fair: Pushes downward with PSI, multihit, spikes, totally ripped from that one guy who had that homebrew thing that never really went anywhere afaik.
Uair: A flip kick straight from utilt, followed by a similar kick below him. Upper hit has current uair knockback, lower hit spikes.
Neutral Special: PK Freeze, freely controllable as opposed to simply changing the length of an arc. Doesn't cause helpless state when used in air.
Side Special: PK Fire, increased range, shoot multiple bolts with less lag between each by mashing B.
Down Special: PK Ground, throws a spark downward that causes an earthquake when it touches the ground. The spark is a powerful spike, the earthquake buries opponents. *gets shot for ditching PSI Magnet*
Zair: Throws an opponent downward when used in the air.

Hooray for edgeguarding out the wazoo!

i kinda wish zair was a soft spike, similar to dairs 4th hit. it would be cool if Lucas grabbed someone, pulled them in, and jumped up off them.

his grabs could come out faster, and i wish he had ness' b-throw. I like his specials as they are, and his smashes are decent enough (yea i wish u-smash was lagless , and D-smash could hit further behind him, but they are fine as they are). His tilts are pretty BA as they are.

aerials- well dair, nair, and bair are AWESOME, fair is acceptable (bigger sweetspot would be nice), but i wish uair was.... just better.

and well, his Final would be.... FLUFFY OMELETTES! he could hire chef kirby or G&W to cook his opponents in a fluffy omelette and eat them all, and then turn into a statue and walk on their faces (after ****ting them out, as he did eat them)

i agree with c3gill, lucas' uair could be a lot better, better range. Also his down special could be really good as PSI shield too which could be kind of like pit's shield, but not reflect things.

Make his grab using his hands not a gay *** snake. And maybe angle his stick like rob fsmash.

I dont see why you complain about Lucas' rope snake... In fact I'd love it if Ness got that sexy tether grab :lick:
and id love to have Ness' B-throw. and MK's ability to jump 5 times (and his priority), and Ike's Sword. thanks!

we complain about it because its only use is for tethering. If we miss a grab we are in lag FOREVER!

I was being sarcastic in my post- i hope you are also- giving Lucas all those moves would make:

a) everyone would main Lucas- no need for anyone else- so then
b) Lucas would be banned


I am somewhat content with Lucas' moveset- small changes could make it ideal. I dont want those scrubs who play other characters just because they are strong to start playing Lucas..... and just cause hes Over Powered. The Lucas mains should be as they are- a somewhat small and dedicated group who actually enjoys his game, and wants to improve it.

just my opinion, of course. :)

Dair to spike on all hits, Z-air to have actual damage, and make his rope snake longah. ;D

I mean seriously. Both Z-air and normal grab. Samus' is about 3 times as long as his snake right now.

And a more lenient zap jump. 1 frame window right now is just plain ridiculous.

Wouldnt that be a bad thing? no more damage racking with Nair->Dair?

We already have a good spike in Bair, and Dair has a soft 4th hit spike.....

Im voting no on this one. A stronger 4th hit spike could be nice, but i think his Dair is just about perfect. for him.
