As for the damage ratio, I'm pretty sure it just applies the multiplier to your current damage when doing the calculations for knockback velocities.
no it doesnt, it takes the damage you're currently at, and applies a multiplier to the knockback not the damage
thats why on 2.0 at 0% a slap still wont send you very far , but a throw or shine sends you miles

It wouldn't have to. Unless you're try to get to that amount of damage with weak attacks, they'll still die before they reach that amount. Making it go any higher would be pointless and an utter and complete waste of time.

How many times have I said damage ratio now?
Too many times. By that logic the fact that you can change the damage multiplier to have more knockback from moves means we should reduce the max damage percentage. Because of Damage Ratio. Is it a valad reason to do so? Hell no.

Britain, glaring at you **** yanks.
On about 125%, I threw link upwards and KO'd him with Marth. The only time when I see 999% is on training mode when I set the CPU's to that. So it isnt needed though.

Pretty funny on 999 to use Luigi's taunt though.

In the end, adding extra digits to everything serves well to make stuff look badass. Final Fantasy does it ALL the time.

Yeah the game doesnt ever go up to 999% anyways. It would be pretty much impossible in a legit game where both people were trying to win. That is, unless they start a Fox ditto and both blaster each other o.0
What I'd be more interested in is CPUs going past lvl 9.
I totally agree, at higher levels of melee most people can't see the difference between level 1 and level 9, i feel like they both make the same stupid errors. It would be nice to see the game designers to make an A.I. that can utilize the games glitches to the fullest, but i guess that would Force them into actually playing the crappy games they usually make before releasing them and realizing things such as "Oh will you look at that you can beat super mario 64 with as little as 16 stars" or "Well will you look at that Luigi's mansion takes a total of 2 hours to beat 100%." I wish my Cp could L-cancel, wavedash, waveshine, and pillar, or if thats not possible i wish level 9 Ganondorf would stop spamming "up+b" whenever i run near him.. :ohwell:

You know, its entirely unreasonable to expect the beta testers of SM64 to have been able to know that you could use the rabbit to go through doors and that you could do some funky long jump trick to launch yourself up the stairs backwards at a speed too high to make a collision check between two objects.
