Over the years I've been here, I've seen a fair bit happen to Smashboards. I joined during the pre-Brawl, "ZOMG SUCH-AND-SUCH OBSCURE CHARACTR SHUD B N BARWL" phase, which, as we all know, wasn't exactly an intelligent time period (unless you stayed away from the GBD/Brawl Character Discussion). After the roster was leaked and the character discussion was closed, things became a bit more intelligent.

However, as of late, I've noticed a decline once again. I won't give any names, but I've noticed certain members of our very own staff stepping around their own rules. It appears that this site is once again devolving into a giant spam-fest, and it bothers me. It hurts to see this site I used to check almost religiously turn into the next GameFAQ's >.>

I made a chart through Graphjam that, unfortunately, does a fairly decent job of describing what's happened.

It's a shame, really, to see what's happened >.>

I have noticed the sites been going downhill ever since Gid left. Gid was just so committed to this site and was just a likable dude in general. Also he used a lot of his time and money to launch his site and I give him thanks. He also fixed things when they were broken *cough*friendfinder*cough*.

Seriously though, this blog is an epic win. The only place I intelligently post anymore is Smash Workshop mainly because its the only place that actually has people helping and the like.

My idea of a Brawltard is someone that senselessly bashes Melee PLAYERS...

As much as I bash Brawl, I get along well with people that play it...you of all people should know this, Ary...

Recently, I've considered leaving SWF altogether, if it wasn't for the amount of time I've dedicated to this site. The whole corrupt/incompetent/uncaring staff, recent wave of unintelligent members, and general monotony is really starting to bother me.

Excellent graph, Cinder. I have to say that Zook is right on (although I have no plans to leave the site, I'm too much of a loyalist). And I have seen a wave of unintelligence going throughout the site, and it isn't even funny unintelligence *coughmaxfirecough.* I think that those of us who want a good site to discuss Smash Brothers and other topics should show that we have the balls to do it (METAPHORICALLY). This is a great first step. Good job, Cinder.

You came at the ****fest. There were few new people, but most of them sucked. Then Brawl came out, which brought both a lot of dumb people and some cool ones, and it balanced out (as long as you don't go to brawl sections)

Now, back in my day of 2003, we were perfect. Didn't need these fancy custom titles or avatars, and we were glad of it! 10,000 member mark was a high point, and we were **** glad! Anyone with over 1,000 posts was known by everyone, and we liked it! Now look at you! Look at what you've become. Your forefathers should be ashamed
