You'd like to hear that, wouldn't ya!
I always have, and will trust good 'ol EGM. They have tonsof funny jokes, and, unlike GamePro and Nintendo Power, aren't afraid to tell it like it is. Also, I like OPM, because, unlike most console-exclusive mags, it will tell it like it is.

A crummy world of plot holes and spelling errors

Yes, you actually get it. I do have problems, with EGM. Do you not read my post? I have problems with them, this is my whole point. As far as I am concerned, reliable magazines don't pull pranks like that otherwise they are not reliable.
Oh my god, are you spazzing over a joke? It's the April edition, what's wrong with an April Fools' joke? If people are stupid enough to believe that Sonic and Tails are in SSB:M, then they deserve to be played with. I don't see how a joke that doesn't physically hurt someone can justify making them pricks. Get over it, it was a joke.

I suscribe to GameInformer, but when you give a game both an 8.5 and a 2, there are serious problems with the reviewers. Plus the fact that before the game is reviewed, they love every game! They are right on some games, but I do have some issues.

The previews are great though.

I found a great editorial on www.nintendojo.com about Nintendo Power.

http://www.nintendojo.com/editorials/view_item.php?1062882932

The article, entitled "No Longer Playing with Power?" goes after Nintendo Power and its resistence to adapt to the changing game industry.

The article is great, I agree with most of what is said. I also feel that the refusal to cover Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64) was the beginning of the end for the mag...

Well, as Nintendo Power is Nintendo it makes sense, they thought the magazine appealed morely to kids so they would rarely cover M rated games.

Then there was a contest they had (one of the monthly ones) that said "Should we start to cover M rated games?" Of course we don't know the votes for it... But I still don't see M rated games in there...

Well Cashed, the latest contest asks what game would you like more coverage of. Killer 7, Twin Snakes, RE4, and (I believe) a few other Mature games made it on the list, so they are thinking of showing some more mature coverage, they just want to know which games people are interested in.

I'm so annoyed at the latest reviews of NFL Street. The magazines seem to love it, but I've been on Nintendo's forums, which the people have given it a top rating of 1 star. IGN's NFL Street forum has posts about why people hate this game, and I seriously hope EA Tiburon wasn't involved in this craptacular game. It's made me rethink other reviews from magazines. Sorry, my little rant on public opinion vs magazine opinion

Hmm, that's weird, Raccoon. EGM seemed to really like the game, and I trust their reviews almost 100% of the time. Plus, you have to keep in mind that *I hate to say it* Nintendo's forums are polluted with little 10-year old kids who want to be "sages" or whatever they call them. Most importantly, these kids are fanboys who probably hate "those darn sports games!"

As for IGN, well, let's be honest, IGN has been pretty horrible lately regarding just about everything ;).

And Cashed, Nintendo Power (if I remember correctly) has a small 2 page or so feature in every few issues that has small outlines of Mature games...

Heh, I just noticed that KI when I was looking through my last Nintendo Power that i had gotten. It just gives a little insight on the game though, lame. :|

Well KI, I did rent the game, and if they wanted to make an anti-Madden, they did by making this game so awful compared to Madden. I returned the game, something I've only done with a select few.

NP seems to have an identity crisis when it comes to mature games. I believe they gave BMX XXX good scores, but Roadkill got bad scores. Usually when they love a franchise like Resident Evil, all the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, but some of their scores for 2,3, and Code Veronica (even though they are just ports, but hey, they love other ports) are just average. They have, however, done walkthroughs for Mature games, take Resident Evil Zero.

^"Cashed edit" made my day

You know, I'm still subscribed to NP. And you know why? Cause they give free crap when you renew.

But anyway... As I was looking through the latest issue, I realized how light on actual text the mag is. It's almost entirely screenshots, art, and stupid little graphics. There's no. Real. Content. Plus, I still cannot get over how crappy the reviews are. The half-page blurbs are worthless when seventy percent of them are just a description of the game. That article hits the problem right on the head.

My subscription runs out January 05. Sadly, I'm sure I'll resubscribe for some stupid headphones or whatever crappy sausage-onna-bun they're advertising.

Rev, I'm stuck with it too. I don't like how they have five reviewers per game, and at most on the high-profile games, you'll only get a blurb from four. My subscription just ran out, but I'll be renewing for the Animal Crossing Player's Guide. I really don't like their two page articles. I liked when they had five page strategy guides; it helped me with Metroid Fusion.
