Lucas has distance attacks and very powerful moves such as his up a yet no one ever gives him any credit. Personally I would rank lucas 3rd out of all the charcters in brawl behind meta knight and zelda.

No one gives him credit. He has to earn it. Go earn Lucas some cred by beating up Snakes and MKs at a tourney near you.

One reason he receives little credit could be that not many people really know who he is. He came from the Japan only MOTHER 3, so he's not really a well known icon. At the beginning of Melee's lifespan, not too many people knew who Roy and Marth were, but they ended up becoming 2 of Smash's most popular characters. Maybe in time, Lucas will earn more respect, as long as people also win tourneys with him.

Lucas is the only entertaining character on the roster to play. I get bored out of my mind with anyone else. He is not high tier. He is nowhere near MK. But he's fun to play. He has the potential to be better than people give him credit for but don't expect him to start winning lots of tournaments.

In a world of MKs, Snakes, Marth, and G&Ws it is hard for lucas to do good. In a recent tourny I went to about 30% used G&W, 20% MK, and 20% Marth. Not good stats for Lucas.

Lucas is solidly low tier. Not the worst thing in the world, but don't expect people to magically start winning with him.

As a secondary character at a tourney, Lucas can help you run **** if you match-up characters properly. If you rely on him alone, it gets ALOT harder. MK and GW eat his food.

Maybe there are some more ATs
that can help Lucas improve
And I noticed Lucas is alot more effective if he is used defensively.

I want to say Snake isn't as much of a problem as Meta Knight and G&W, but that's just out of experience playing as Ness and not Lucas. I can see MK and G&W being a very big problem for Ness and Lucas mainers.

Snake isn't as much of a problem as MK or G&W. More G&W than MK though. Snake will still give you trouble, but your odds are better.
