Everyone ignored Ike's biggest strengths.
The relatively low lag at the end of a good bit of his moves and the advantage he has if he hits a sheild. Because this game doesn't have some stuff that Melee had, you can actually attack a sheild with slow moves and can actually have an advantage. Take Usmash for instance. Hitting someone's sheild with Usmash will push them back far. You start recovering from the lag. They can finally get out of their sheild and try to punish your sheild, only to eat a jab to the face.
Ike's recovery is rather good, nothing amazing, but good. If you get hit up, just charge forward b so that you land on the top middle platform of whatever stage you on. You can always edge cancel it too. My only problem with Quick Draw is if you're low you're kinda ****ed but it doesn't really matter that much.
Don't forget Aether out of sheild too.
