So, you're telling me that if Sheik hadn't been in Melee she would have a chance 9 years later? Good one, not even Skull Kid has a chance these days, I'm sick of everyone comparing Sheik to major video game characters to defend her.... comparing Sheik to Dedede, Diddy Kong and Pit? Well I'm sorry. It's hard to defend Sheik. The only way possible to help sheik's case is to compare her to other brawl characters. Besides I don't want her as an individual character. Just the same as before.

So? Ice Climbers and Pit haven't appeared in games since the very early 90's. And if you bring up ports, then I'll simply bring up the OoT ports. Brawl isn't about representing the new aspects of Nintendo; it's about Nintendo's history. Sheik is a part of that history, and represents a significant game in that history.
Nothing but your opinion, which is ironic considering what you started the post I'm quoting with.
As most of the Zelda games take place in different points in time, the ONLY characters who are relevant to the overall series are Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. Arguably Tingle, Impa and King Hylrue as well, but Tingle's the only likely candidate out of those three. Just because Midna was in the last console Zelda to come out doesn't mean any character who WASN'T in TP is going to get the boot; if anything, they'll put both Midna and Sheik in to cover more of the series.
Not enough evidence to say that at this point. The most you can say is that they're using their TP's aesthetic, and even then not religiously; Zelda isn't a brunette in TP, yet she is in Brawl. The Master Sword is shorter than it was in TP in Brawl. The stage... Well, yeah, but most franchise stages in this one so far have been based off the newest game in the series. I doubt the second Zelda stage will be TP based.
As I said in my other point, they probably want to branch out more of the Zelda series and include as much of the different incarnations as possible. Why would you WANT them to take out a character who's already has her programming and a basis for a model pre-made from the last game? It'd take a fraction of the time to simply touch her up rather than replace her.

I'm not a Sheik fan, and that was exactly the point. Why ruin a bran new character when you can let Sheik continue to be the most unbalanced. Just keep Sheik and let her be the "pro character out of the box". No point in making a new character do that.

I know that after Melee, Diddy Kong appeared in DK King of Swing, DK JUngle Climber, DK Barrel Blast, and a ****load of Mario spinoff games.
And the TC's ********. I'm sure that there are plenty of reasons for Sheik to return, but no one ever knew what they were. The fact that she's the best character in the game doesn't mean much in the end.

Opinion? good one, from being a minor character in the Zelda series to being the most broken and overpowered character in Melee with a made up moveset? Yeah she is more overrated than any Zelda character.
I said at present time, Midna is currently relevant to the Zelda series because of TP, she probably won't be when the next Zelda comes out, just like Sheik is irrelevant now.
Link and Zelda's designs, Link's updated weaponry, Bridge of Eldin stage. What are you saying again?

honestly this thread has become about ikelegend and his poor internet ethics. this is supposed to be a joke topic I guess, but it's become more about reprimanding, and probably banning this mouse in a corner, pulling out all the stops, including offensive gestures and offensive language, as well as defying the golden rule of forums, "Nobody knows, or cares, who you are"

You're completely right here, unfortunatly I cant say anything because of spoilers.
It's not like Sakurai's going to say, "Sheik's not new, but she's not old, so she's out!" I don't see any good reason to take older characters only from the NES era and simply ignore the N64 era.

No, people compare Sheik to just about anyone, IC's, Pit and Mr Game and Watch got in because they are retro characters, leads of their own games, Sheik is far from being any of those things, I don't understand why people want the Zelda series stuck on Sheik in the Smash games instead of letting the series move on.

Very wrong, I really really liked her style.. although Im not too good with her, and she looks cool. I want her in. Roy is a swordfighter and we have enough of those already.
People still want characters like G&W and Mewtwo to return, even though they were low tier, so your argument fails. Besides, I'm certain that there are a lot of people who liked using both Sheik and Zelda together, as intended. In lower-level play (i.e. more casual play [i.e. people who wouldn't frequent a SSB forum]) tiers don't really matter, and I don't think anyone would notice how powerful one character is compared to another. I love to play as both characters, and I do well with both characters.
Saying that it's all because of tiers is a weak argument.
