Australia doesn't count. Get a population bigger than that of a major city and we'll talk about it.

edit: SAME GOES TO YOU, CANADA!

double edit: I just looked at a globe, and it turns out you guys are right next to north america, so you're cool. never mind.

triple edit: double edit was a joke.
what about europe, do we count ;)

Being someone who considers the original to be the best in the series, this game deserve more recognition.

SSB(64) comes back to the future

I suspect that Super Smash Bros. (N64) will indeed become much more popular now thanks to the Virtual Console release and the fact that the game makes a nice counter to Brawl at tournaments.

Here in Raleigh, North Carolina SSB(64) still gets plenty of love but that’s probably a result of the three major colleges; Duke, NC State and Carolina and the fact that college students love the simplicity yet sublime depth of the original Super Smash Bros.

This makes me wonder, are there other college smash leagues out there? I seriously think that should be my goal in college: make video games a college level sport.

disproving determinism
There's people at Stanford that play ssb64 but probably more for the other games.

I have a friend at Wilammette who claims that they have ssb64 tourneys there frequently

You could probably start a smash club or something, maybe even get school funding for that.
