Wario and Vehicles

Wario's special moves are out. Well, really only two of them, but that's beside the point. The point is that Wario's side special is the Wario Chopper. Chopper as in motorcycle. As in something you ride. And it seems that this chopper doesn't really dissapear either, at least not instantly. Wario can fall off of it. And then get back on. Also, Mario appears to be holding it in one of the screen shots. So to sum up: Wario has an item that he can make and then RIDE AROUND ON. In any other game, this would be called a VEHICLE. So at the very least, we know that one vehicle is in Brawl. But is it the only one?

There could very well be other vehicles in Brawl, and why not? Wario seems to have created the basics for it. Here are a few ideas:

1-That Rhino in a box from Donkey Kong country, or any boxed animal really. You can go wrong with boxed animals.
2-Any F-Zero race-car or go cart from Mario Cart.
3-Certain large enough pokemon.
4-Various Warp Stars. Kirby rode all kinds in that racing game of his.
5-King Dedede's unicycle wheelie dude.

Any ideas?

i dont think there will be any vehicles besides wario's. i think its kinda like yoshi's special move where he rolls in his egg. but when it looks like mario is holding the motorcycle, it might be like (young)links bomb, where everybody can hold it. i'm thinking that the motorcycle will dissapear after some time.

Well it does sound like a lot of fun, but they would either have to make a lot of new chars or redo a lot of moves from the old ones. And on the small SSB stages, I'm not to sure if a vehicle is always the best choice. It would make a very good mini-game though, or to be implemented in race to the finish.

When I first heard about Mach Rider being a candidate for Brawl, his motorcycle was a huge throwback. But if one motorcycle makes it in, why not add another?

I also think that it is a move alike to Yoshi's Egg-dash - although I do find it peculiar that Mario can hold and lift the bike. ;o I would love to see it shown in action, though. Perhaps a new trailer, Nintendo?

I wish, however, that Wario is the only character who actually owns and is able to dispatch a vehicle. Imagine the chaos if every character has something of the sort... x)

I don't think there will be any other "vehicles" just like Shiekthingy said its kinda like yoshi's egg so its special in a way, but we are definetly gonna see them in the Mario Kart Stage

Having all the other Brawl characters have "vehicles" would be very hard to impliment. Most likely this is Wario's move exclusively. Although it would be interesting to see if you could knock Wario off of his bike, and then pick up and throw the chopper off the stage.

any Starfox spaceship, or landmaster tank, or those dinosaurs from SFA.

also, FIre emblem Balliestas, or the Shoe that Mario gets in this one lvl in Super Mario Bros 3.


but like they said earlier, doubt they would impliment vehicles too much in Brawl.

i wonder how effective a vehicle is. do you just run people over an cause like 50 damage or is it just light taps every time you get hit.

what about protection, certainly you can't just ride around in one all match. is the top part the vulnerable area?

It does seem like he's able to pick it up, however I don't think he's able to ride it by the looks of things.

Of course, you never know. Other characters MAY be able to doubt it. I actually think that you may only be able to pick it up though (and toss it =P). And ya, having several vehicle riders would cause chaos and mayhem on the stage.... XD But ain't that what Brawl's about?

I agree, that is what Brawl's about...but it's kinda to late into production and I think that'd be TOO much chaos. It would turn an action game into Kirby's Air Ride, just with SSB chars.

Vehicles lead to escalation. If one character can have a vehicle, why not all of them? Why not bigger vehicles?

Soon we'll see in Mario coming to a Super Smash Bros. 4 match in a tank, and Peach will be firing depleted Uranium tipped Shells instead of turnips, until Kirby flies is and deploys an Aircraft Carrier on the edge of the course and Snake will launch ICBM's from a nuclear submarine.

The idea of the vehicle is interesting, however Id bet that it is exclusive to Wario.

However, Im wondering how his waft will operate. Might players charge it like Samus' shot? Or does it passively charge throughout the battle and the player can unleash it based on how long you wait by doing the move.

the first post mentioned having DK Animals in boxes. I think that could be really clever and fun. It'd act as a temporary item like in DK. If you got knocked off ur animal it'd just run off the stage---but in the mean time u;d have a chance to inflict some damage . Frogs to jump high, rhino to headbutt, sword fish to ...um....oh yeh we'd need an underwater level---but who says it can't be done ? lol ( i won't hold my breath)

anyways yeh --as long as any vehicle is very temporary i think it could be cool. I;m wondering what it;s going to look like when wario pulls out this thing from his pocket....

What I'm curious about is if anyone else playing as Wario can knock the other Wario off his hog and steal it. Can you say "Grand Theft Brawl?"

When I said vehicles, I meant them as items, not as moves that other characters would have. Wario might be the only character who can create one of his own, sort of the way only Peach and Link could create throwable items in Melee.
I kind of imagined them as temporary items, but not instantly vanishing either. I figured they'd just keep going until you run it off an edge or crash it.

And as for vehicles being nteresting or easy to use... Well, Wario already has one. I sure Sakurai wouldn't have given him that move if it wasn't any fun to do.

.... It seems like wario will be slow and powerful, and this might be used for retreat and general moving, although in the trailers he seems fairly fast...

And it is great for a laugh, imagine if wario is top tier, and all over tournies people are n00bs if they cant bike spike cancel fart...

Yeah, this chopper thing seems like a pretty cool idea but I'm wondering...where the hell would the bike come from? Lemme guess, Wario's duking it out with Mario in a fist fight when all of a sudden, Wario pulls this big honkin' bike out of his pocket and runs down some pedestrians. Yeah...that would be pretty odd. And it would be kind of funny seeing it fall from the sky like all items. Where do you people think the bike will come from?

If you look at the pic of Yoshi on top of Dk maybe smaller characters can jump on top of bigger ones. if thats the case Bowsers going to get *****. A LOT.

It seems like Wario's Chopper would work like Yoshi's side B move and if he's attacked and falls off the bike turns into a throwable a la Peach's turnip or (Young) Link's bomb. Seems like it's a mix of the 2 moves in that way. I would think he pulls the bike out of his pocket like Link with the bomb or some similar animation. Whatever the case, Yoshi's egg move was pretty uneffective so I wonder if the same will hold true for Wario. It's definatly an interesting move though.

I'm SO maining Wario now...He farts, summons motorcycles and looks like he has a eating/biting attack as well...My fav WTF character so far.
