Walljump from ledge

I've seen a few combo videos where people have done an instant walljump from a ledge, and I can't figure it out.

How's it done?

Jump to a ledge, holding the control stick towards that way, and when you hit it, tap the control stick the opposite way and jump. You may NOT Have to jump, but I do. But then again, I play Pichu, Pikachu, and Marth, lulz.

i do it sometimes without knowing how i did it, but if you on the ledge you can drop down jump towards the ledge then walljump, its not an instant walljump but its a wall jump

instant walljump = possible on certain ledges

on FD you have to hit away from the ledge and a jump button at the same time

on certain stages like fourside or stages with vertical/flat edges all you have to do is hit away

nice it worked, good stuff, oh yeah once you do the instant wall jump you have no second jump just so you know

Well, I got that down (feel kinda stupid at not realizing it's simplicity earlier).

Another question has come to mind : How necessary is moonwalking? Despite all my attempts to do it, I can't x_x. Would it be something I should practice, or can I do well without it? I guess I'm asking, will it improve my game by a noticeable amount?

Moonwalking makes your Falcon sexy. If you've got everything else down pat, it's a fun thing to learn. Moonwalking won't improve your game by a noticeable amount and your game can do just as well without it, but it's sexy. Read the moonwalking guide (stickied at the top of the page) to learn how to do it. There's no tricks to it, just slam the control stick as fast as you can in the right direction. =p

It's not necessary. But it's good for edgeguarding/hogging.

I followed the guide, but Im probably too slow.

If I follow the route of the green arrows, I dash dance. If I roll the control stick, I just stop x_x

Learn how to do the control stick rolling first =p. Roll your control stick faster, and if you can't get it, go into training and put things in 1/2 speed. or, in order to watch the sexiest SD ever, go into 1/8 speed with bunny hood and attempt to moonwalk XD.
