Wacky Moveset Ideas

Now that my behavior has improved, I've thought of a brand new idea lately. What if we could think of wacky/bizarre movesets for characters. It would either make them out of character, not suit them etc..

Here's a template you can use:
Moveset Creation

A moveset is made up of 23 inputs:
  • 4 Special Moves [ Neutral | Up | Side | Down ]
  • 5 Standard Attacks [ Jab | Dash Attack | Up Tilt | Forward Tilt | Down Tilt ]
  • 3 Smash Attacks [ Forward | Up | Down ]
  • 5 Aerial Attacks [ Neutral | Up | Down | Forward | Back ]
  • 6 Grab Game Inputs [ Grab | Pummel | Up Throw | Down Throw | Forward Throw | Back Throw ]
  • Plus a Stats Section [ Movement | Size | Weight | any Unique Mechanics | etc. ]
You can list them in whatever order you want. Most movesets list Special Moves first, since their unique properties often tie a moveset together as a "core" and can be relevant to the rest of the moves. For example, Shulk's Monado Arts change up how the rest of his moves are used, so it'd be helpful to list his Special Moves at the beginning. Similarly, a character's Stats should go in the beginning bit.Outside of that, the order varies a lot, but moves are almost always grouped together into the five sections bullet-pointed above. Do whatever you'd like here!Other optional things you might want to include:
  • Image of the character [ Recommended! ]
  • Intro writeup for the character [ Recommended! ]
  • Final Smash [ Recommended! ]
  • Taunts
  • Custom Specials
  • Situational Attacks [ Ledge Attack | Getup Attack ]
  • Miscellaneous Flavor [ Home Stage | Alternate Costumes | etc. ]
Here's my example of a wacky moveset idea: (It's not complete though)

Neutral Special: Nate fires a beam of energy from his cupped hand, similar to the Kamehameha. Can be charged up.

Side Special: Nate fires a flurry of rapid energy blasts from his hand.

Up Special: Nate performs a rising slash with his energy sword projected from his hand. Similar to the Shoryuken.

Down Special: Nate performs rapid slashes with his energy sword in all directions, while spinning.

For most of Nate's Melee attacks he projects his energy sword from his hand. Similar to Kuwabara (Yu Yu Hakusho).

Katie is also an alternate skin for Nate.

Reply below to post your wacky moveset ideas.

Mario. But his entire moveset uses his vehicles from Mario Kart (Probably Standard and B-Dasher), and the items associated with it. This might sound somewhat dumb but I think the idea has a lot of potential if done well.
Thanks for bumping up this thread! Can we get anymore ideas?

Sure! So, like. Link. But all of his moves are items.
This might sound odd but considering the existence of items like the Dominion Rod, Clawshot, the sand pillar thing from Phantom Hourglass, the myriad of bombs and arrows...
Okay, but I would like other users to post their ideas for wacky movesets in this thread as well! But how do you think of my wacky moveset I made for Nate (Yokai Watch) above?

And, on that note. How about Joker, but he actually uses his Wild Card? He could play a little like the characters in Heritage for the Future, being able to summon the Persona chosen at will, with it desummoning if it is damaged too much. Plus, they'd be used for specials, not just a buff. For instance - Jack Frost would have ice-based attacks, Izanagi would have thunder-based stuff, etc. I imagine he has access to Izanagi, Orpheus, Jack Frost, Pyro Jack and Arsene - a clever blend of recognisable, important and different Personas with different skills and attributes that would be very interesting to see!

Could you please give me more detailed opinions/remarks about my wacky Nate (Yokai Watch) moveset?
Sure thing. For starters, it really leans in a different direction than the traditional 'anime sword boi' style, what with the energy sword being completely different in style. Not only that, but we don't really have a flurry-beatdown swordster yet. I know a lot of people want that to be filled by Lyn, but this sounds more interesting to me personally.

they add black mage from final fantasy, but he's classified as a mario character and his moveset is based on mario hoops 3-on-3

Ayumi Tachibana
B : Flashlight
; Ayumi shines her flashlight in a medium area (10%), briefly stunning opponents in range
B + Forwards : Solar Rays; Ayumi uses her magnifying glass to create a ray of sun (8%). The attacks power is increased by 7% damage for a single hit when used on stages that take place in the daytime.
B + Up : Umbrella; Ayumi nervously opens her umbrella and floats in a single direction without stopping, only slowing down when the control stick is tilted in the opposite direction
B + Down : Inspect; Ayumi inspects the ground with her magnifying glass; there’s a 50/50 chance of Ayumi picking up an item

Final Smash: Case Closed; Ayumi glares at up to 3 opponents. Any caught in her vision are taken into a cutscene emulating FDC on the Famicom, where Ayumi declares the opponent(s) the perpetrator(s). The attack is increased by 5% if the opponent(s) is holding an item.

Not sure if this counts, since it's not from a video game but I made this moveset on Spongebob a long time ago
Series Icon: Those flower shaped clouds

Weight: 88

Speed: 1.58

Entrance: His pineapple house appears on the stage, Spongebob opens the door and walks out, when he gets on the stage the house disappears

Up Taunt: Eats a Krabby Patty and then puts it away

Side Taunt: Salutes while saying "I'm ready!"

Down Taunt: Plays with his flute nose

Idle Animation: Looks at the screen and gives a thumbs up

Idle Animation 2: Stretches his arms

Crawl: No

Wall Jump: Yes

Normal Attacks

Jab: Does a palm thrust two times (7%)

Up Tilt: Whacks his head from back to front (6%)

Side Tilt: A swipe with his spatula (9%)

Down Tilt: Does a thrust kick, is like Ness's down tilt and is spammable (2%)

Dash Attack: An exploding pie appears in his hand, he trips as the pie falls, the pie then explodes and makes a small explosion (15%)

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Air: Does one kick (8%)

Forward Air: Does a dropkick, spins his legs while doing so (9%)

Back Air: Swipes his spatula behind him (7%)

Up Air: Does a bicycle kick (6%)

Down Air: Does one corkscrew kick diagonally downwards (6%)

Smash Attacks

Up Smash: His karate gloves appear on both of his hands and he thrusts both of them upward in the air (18%)

Side Smash: Gets out his spatula and slams it on the ground (15%)

Down Smash: Spins around quickly with his fists out (16%)

Special Attacks

Neutral Special: Bubble (Gets out his bubble blower and would blow a giant bubble that goes forward, when the bubble hits foes it consumes the foe and lifts them up in the air for 2 seconds, after the 2 seconds the balloon pops and it gives the foe 12% damage, the range for the balloon is great and it is very fast)

Up Special: Turbo Drive Spatula (Gets out his Turbo Drive Spatula and it lifts him up in the air, if the spatula collides with opponents it hits them multiple times, in total it gives them 16% damage)

Side Special: Mermaid Man's Belt (Mermaid Man's Belt appears on Spongebob's waist as he squeezes the M on the belt, the M shoots out a green laser that hits opponents, but it deals no knockback or damage, instead if the opponent is in the laser for 3 seconds, they'll instantly shrink, when they're shrinked there attacks deal 7% less damage and they can be KO'ed very easily, the range for the laser goes very far also)

Down Special: Sponge Balloon (His head expands, this does no damage or knockback, instead pushes opponents off him, if used in the air, it'll make him float down slowly)

Final Smash

I'm A Goofy Goober! (Spongebob's Goofy Goober wizard costume appears on him as he flies up into the air, he then gets his guitar and starts shooting beams at all of the opponents, the foes don't have to be close or far for this to happen, it is also very fast and deals some good knockback)

Grab and Pummel

Grab: Grabs with one hand

Pummel: Headbutts the opponent (1%)

Throws

Up Throw: Tosses them up in the air (8%)

Forward Throw: Kicks the opponent in the head with his foot (9%)

Back Throw: Spins around and then tosses them (12%)

Down Throw: Puts the opponent beneath him and slams

Alternate Costumes

1. What he normally looks like

2. Body turns entirely green with a red shirt and dark yellow pants, references Abrasive Spongebob

3. Body turns entirely red with a blue shirt and dark blue pants, along with red socks and shoes, references Mr. Krabs

4. Body turns entirely blue with a brown shirt and darker brown pants, references Squidward

5. Body turns entirely pink with a green shirt and yellow pants, references Patrick

6. Body turns entirely orange with a green shirt and blue pants, doesn't reference anything.

7. The Quickster costume

8. Mermaid Man costume

Results Screen

Victory Pose 1: Spongebob runs up to Gary, pets him and says "Gary, we did it, we won!" while Spongebob has a smile on his face

Victory Pose 2: Spongebob is trying to catch a jellyfish with his net, and then he trips on a rock and falls on the ground

Victory Pose 3: The citizens of the Bikini Bottom form a crowd, grab Spongebob and throw him up in the air while saying "Hooray for Spongebob!"

Defeat: Spongebob claps with a smile on his face

Song: The last 6 seconds of the old Spongebob Squarepants credits

Stages

Krusty Krab: The stage takes place inside of the Krusty Krab with all the other citizens of the Bikini Bottom watching in the background, when a KO happens, the crowd cheers

The Salty Spitoon: The stage takes place inside of the Salty Spitoon, the toughest of the toughest are watching the fight go down in the background, when a KO happens, the crowd cheers.

You are free to make wacky movesets for any character.

I've always thought Balloon Fighter seemed pretty wacky. A character who is very weak unless he's floating around on balloons. He'd be the polar opposite of Little Mac; heck, maybe he could even have a decent ground game if he has two or more balloons inflated, but bad if he's down to less.

Fencing Fields from Fortnite :( RIP
If Waluigi gets in I think it would be hillarious if this was his neutral b
Lucky Roll
Waluigi preforms any of the preexisting neutral B moves in the game at random, it changes every time he presses the B button.
So, you might want to zone out your opponent with a projectile, but instead you do a Warlock Punch and leave yourself open.
Also, Sonic but he has a Werehog meter that builds up over time that functions like Arsene.

Sonic's werehog meter could also work for a Super Saiyan-esque mechanic.
