I 2-0'd whatever Paul guy was in PR Pools and played Shiek in tournament. Then Eric (Blunted) 2-0'd me, then Ryan (CowEar) 2-0'd me.

Vish, why don't you try Falcon on me sometime? I've beaten your jiggly already in tournament, and in PR Pools. I think you'd honestly stand a better chance with Falcon cause I've never seen you use it on me. I don't allow more than 1 upthrow rest..

If you ask me based on how they played against me in PR,
Deva < Chip

Beat the Shiek guy 2-0, then lost to Eric (Blunted Object) 0-2 and then to Cowear 0-2.
No shame in losing to Eric. No shame in losing to Ryan. Next time, don't lose to eric though, he's a noob.

lulz im scared of combos. >.<
but next time i will def try it on you in friendlys or something.

and also cause kinda like jiggz v. falco lol. but the two maps we played on were like yoshis and battlefield. we should play on FD im pretty sure ill do better,
and in the last tourney i beat your falco with jiggly and you switched to marth, and beat me. so i thought it would be good against you.

I was pretty noob last GC 2 months ago. Ask Eggz, my marth is realllly horrible. I just to it cause I knew fsmashes would work. But, yes, you did manage to take one match from me last GC a couple months ago. Now I play with Eggz a lot >_>

I think that top 7 should do PR pool after the Sept GC.

I don't think we've done that in a quite a while. With things so tight (top 4 in particular) - it'd be interesting to see who beats who and what the outcome is.

Something to consider in addition to tourney placings for our next update.

That sounds fun, but I disagree with it having anything to do with PR xD.

Sorry its just that how well we do against eachother isnt as accurate as tourney results... furthermore, we don't have enough tourneys to even alter the rankings. ie Ammon has to not win like 4+ months in a row before we can even touch his ranking, kinda demotivating lol. If we had 2 tourneys a month we could make much more accurate power rankings...
Im not saying with more tourneys that our skill will rise and fall faster, but we might see certain people consistently doing well and put them precisely where they belong.

Kinda rambled through that, but bottom line is... we can't alter the rankings every month when we only have one tourney a month.

I never said anything about altering the rankings every month.

Right now everything is kind of at a stand still. It'd take some consistent and 'unusual' tourney results to change much at the moment. (i.e. me getting like 1st three times in a row xD)

I think that the PR *should* be updated after september GC, seems as how it'll have been 3 months, but I also think that the updated version won't show much (or any) change. lol.

It pretty hard to tell who belongs where regarding teddy and myself. I want to say that he does better against other people than I do...

I still think a top 7 PR round robin would be, (at the very least) fun. I'm curious to see what'd happen. Though, I also feel like you guys wouldn't take it very seriously...lol. Has it gotten to a point where 'playing your best' is not fun anymore?

Good **** on getting 1st in both 1v1 and 2v2 btw, Nate. You made bank that last touney :psycho:

EDIT: I crashed a tourney play today and they were playing on a PAL version of smash. It was weird waveshining another fox xD.

I don't want a top 7 PR pool. Playing competitively vs WA players is something I'm not really a fan of...at all.
Even 2v2s VS WA is getting pretty old.
I don't enjoy playing players I play often enough competitively, especially after OC and FC. I don't care If I lose to one of you guys in the top 7, because you know how to play a Fox like mine now. I don't feel that great when I beat Ammon, because I know how to play him. All there is to gain now is money and since it's no fun, it's hardly worth it. Can't wait for Super Champ Combo though...

I hope I can go to my grandma's again this fall. >.>

Dan has a point... top 7 PR sounds like a good idea.

I feel like even if theres a knowing how to play against a certain style, you should still try your best. I mean when i play against my noob friends they always give that excuse "oh i wasnt trying my best" It all sounds like a buncha johns to me. If you're saying how you dont play your best against WA ppl because they know your style, that just means theres always another way to change and become better. I get what you're saying about how its not an accurate reading. But saying you cant, and wont try your best against WA just sounds kinda concieted.

Who said they wouldn't try their best? I just don't think it would be fun.
I've always been like that. Whenever someone like Shane tries to run a round robin at his house or anything like that. Nothing new.

lol I also would not be supportive of this top 7 pool thingy. if it was at a GC, that would just be a waste of time that we could spend on Falcon Only 3. Or Low Tier 3. or even Ditto tourney.

plus the top 7 play each other enough already. Except gimpy. I miss gimpy.

Yea I assume it will, I thought it was gonna be updated last one, not sure what happened, its SO hard to confidently say "X is better than Y" when I've only seen em play once, so Im gonna put a lot of effort into playing everyone and stuff next time <.<

Dan: Sorry wasnt trying to put words in your mouth, I was just saying that to pretty much everyone, in hopes of someone steping up and get some tourneys goin. Even though both times I tried no one really came. FD onry was OK at best. . . FD Onry sounds too good still though =D

@ Otto - If you claim that everybody in WA is learning or "knows" how you play - you should step it up and evolve your style. Being good at smash is a constant struggle against those who are always getting better / trying to beat you. I know you know this, but still... Being one of the best at smash is ****ing demanding and tiring, and harder yet when everyone expects great things from you. You're too good, so keep it up, if you can. ;-)

@ everyone else who doesn't want top 7 RR - I see your points, but remember that I NEVER get to play you guys T_T You're all so used to it. (Playing eachother) I vote low tier next tourney, we never do that anymore...

@ Nate - I'd love to see at least 2 local tourney's a month. I don't know about everyone else, but it seems like you and I just love going and competing, xD.

Hopefully 'Dan 2' will be kickin'.

I was gonna say, maybe we should add 1-2 people to the panel? Like a couple people from 8-15 that is?

You have 5 panelists so far, yes? And not all of them are extremely high on the PR. I think that's healthy - I'm not sure whether having up to 7 panelists would help.

I was actually wondering about this yesterday. If someone isn't as capable a smasher as someone else, can they really scrutinize a very good player's skill? As mean as it sounds, can one really truly understand how good a smasher is one doesn't know exactly what the smasher is doing in their matches?

Of course, that lesser skilled player could still look at tournament results and come with a pretty accurate list. However, when the POWER LEVEL between 2 smashers are very close, you have to delve even closer into the smashers' styles and knowledge of the game. Would a decent player be able to do that to a GREAT player?

[/rant]
Then again, a possible bias may ensue if all the top players are the panelists. Not that it would or will happen, but there are those who would grudgingly move themselves down in a PR.

The BC Panel consists of John [ranked 1st] , Eric [ranked 3rd], Tiep [ranked 4th], and Adam [ranked 5th]. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Dan you can come over anytime you like so long as I dont have work haha...
I wish more people would come to my place but I guess no one wants to get good like they say they do

(not seriously being a ****, persuasion method XD)

Edit: I was thinking for help in evaluating the bottom of the list. And our panel is all the top players but Jumpfreak and Ka-Master. I think it has less to do with evaluating someone higher than you than someone far away from you.

I just need a break, that's why I haven't been playing as much lately. Once September comes along though, I'll be in the mood again. Too much smash lately.

There's been like5-6 tourneys in the last month in a half or so. I'm just smashed out after GC.

As for the panel: We could just admit most of the ranked players and make a list using a lot of panelists, just to get more input. more won't hurt at all. We won't need all of their judgments each time, and instead of waiting for the few we have when preparing to update, we could just use most of the panels opinions. Just a thought.

I wouldnt mind Chip or Deva as a panelist, they were the first ones I was thinking of... but we definately need you guys to consistently make tournaments to be a panelist, meaning GC.

Im also skeptical of bias in Eastern WA because of the lack of experience with out of the area players, so I'd like to see some opinions on the PR from one of them after the next GC.

When I say bias, i mean the accidental kind where you don't even know you are doing it xD.
