Well, they were obviously going to go with the most popular option. The fact that she got a figurine before the main characters speaks for itself.
Though is the expy's personality confirmed to be similar to Tharja's? She looks comparatively less ax-crazy or evil.

Does it matter which way a character swings? If somebody wants to interpret two characters to be in a gay relationship based on existent evidence, let them. I for one believe that Ike is gay and I think there's a very strong case to be made for Kjelle having romantic inclinations towards Severa. That embellishes the characters for me, and demonstrates a heterogenous narrative that I find comforting in a fictional universe.
At the end of the day, while I am in no way advocating that a character ought to be defined by their sexuality or regarded as a walking vessel for equality demonstration, I think it's nice that LGBT players have characters that they can identify with. Anybody who knows me well enough will know that I am very fond of Lucina, whom I interpret to be self-identified androgynous, as I myself am an androgyne and it's very rare to see androgynous characters in fictional media. And y'know, it's nice just having a character whose mere presence reminds you: "You're alright."
Incidentally, the notion that alternative sexualities are not "the norm" is rapidly changing; to deny that is to deny the hard work and dedication of millions of people around the world that demand progress and have worked to change society for the better. You need only look at such recent events as the acceptance of gay marriage in 36 of the US's 50 states and the vote on marriage equality in Ireland to recognise that, slowly but surely, LGBT folk aren't regarded as queer or unusual anymore. We're all a part of society, every one of us, and it's refreshing that a relatively traditional company like Nintendo is integrating more players and more diversity into its target market.
Of course, the fact that we even need to talk about it like it's something unusual is a reminder that we still have a long way to go. Still, baby steps - and if we get to meet our glorious merchant overlord at the end of that weird and wonderful road, then I'm all for it~

Good idea with the Rescue staff. I like it.

Go and check what my moveset WAS.
Strictly limiting Anna to one or two weapon types is VERY Narrow minded.
Between Awakening and Fates alone, we have Bows, Spears, Swords, and Staves without reclassing. Just promotions.
Anna is quite open to using ANYTHING from FE history as a weapon, and damn well should.
My old moveset, however, neglected bows much. Considering it is now one of her "iconic" weapons now, it should have a bigger part OF her moveset.
