That was good, I think you need to work on your overall strat vs. Marth.

I noticed that you were being pretty aggressive. You ended up running face first into a lot of Zhu's spaced aerials. Interestingly enough this worked really well on Fountain of Dreams because you had suburb pressure and platform tricks to keep Zhu at bay. On FD you did a good job of keeping him locked with the lasers and although you managed to make some good setups out of it, a lot of time you put yourself in bad situations. The Poke Stadium match was similar to FD except you were really taking a beating there because Zhu found ways around the lasers through platform tricks and what not.

Anyways good stuff, I suggest trying to take a bit more passive strategy vs. Marth and if that doesn't work out, well to each his own, keep going with your strat and keep improving it.

I think u could grab moar often. Uthrow -> uair wrecks up some damage + he is stuck in the air which is good cause he can't fsmash u...
AND u should learn to ledgetech his fsmash. That's very important against a Marth. Otherwise he can kill u at low %ages

I know how to tech, but it's hard to tech an unexpected fsmash at 60%. And when you see me getting tippered, that's because my upb already carried me to the point where i was already over the ledge, thus not letting me tech.

Yeah, grabbing works well though; uthrow usually leads to some solid damage. I'm probably going to go see if bthrow leads to anything when I go play today.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah I saw how u teched his dtilt. I just wanted to point this out cause there also were some fsmashes which were techable.

Another neat trick is to jump slightly out of the range of the Marth (i found FJ and DJ more useful than SH) and then waveland towards him and shine. Marth will have troubles to react. The easies way to defend himself would be to shield... but then u can pillar or make a JC'd grab or wavedash back again. Just don't spam it.

Btw: I'm sorry, but i have to copy ur DD -> WD back. It looks that cool

I liked Zhu's marth more than your falco, still your falco is pretty good just be less agressive and spam those lasers a little more

You used totally L33t moves where they were not required. as I can see your mind tricks were OVER-used. something i learned, just running back and forth like -> <- -> <- -> that works, then just dAIR them at a quick pace til hes weak, knock him off edge and Spike him with the dAIR once more. I've won 3 tourneys thx to that (I made so much money. ima get a 2nd wii for brawl LAN =D!!)

If I dd in place, I get grabbed/nair/fair/fsmash/dtilt = I die. No offense, but the people at the tourney you went to weren't good at all, then.

i think you could stand to be a little more passive, nice falco though

also, wtf @the comments about using FEWER mindgames. please, all that will result is him spending the match trying to escape cgs.

Alright, here's what I saw:

1) Great Waveland shines, those were really getting Zhu, great mindgames overall. Ignore posts 3-20 that say you use too many mindgames or whatever, that's how we roll against Marth.
2) You have got to smash DI that fsmash down and toward the stage so you can tech it and live!!!! Most important thing you can learn against Marth because it gives you another shot to kill him. It seemed like you'd jump towards the stage alot when you had plenty of space to recover, which seemed a little weird, but Zhu would have gotten you most of the time anyway.
3) Sick combo at the beginning of match 2 :D

Overall I think you need to learn to kill that Marth harder. You're taking alot of risks which you don't need to be taking. For instance, Uthrow to u-air; why? Any kind of DI or just bad execution will give Marth a free f-air, which happened at least once, and lead to some ****. You can downthrow in that situation and tech-chase with a dash attack or DC downsmash or jab to get better results and a possible KO.

Also you missed alot with lasers, and I don't know if I saw a downair connect. Downair and Nair should be more of your main combo starters at low percents, rather than a shine.

Crouch cancel. Do anything you can do to screw with his spacing. You have to remember Zhu plays a mean Falco too, so he knows the set-ups, and knows where the weak points are, so you have to be extra careful. I don't try to go for big combos on characters like Marth and Peach, because if you screw up at any point, you might as well kiss your stock good bye. Laser a little more, work in some up-tilts, back air really shines here, and if you are charging his shield with an aerial, DO NOT FAST FALL. I know it will mess with your l-cancels for a while, but what's better: Getting Shield grabbed, or not getting shield grabbed? All in all, just play smart and careful, and try and trick him into missed f-smashes. Treat every stock like your last.
