Well I have gotten a few videos up on youtube now of me using Pokemon Trainer. I thought to share them with you guys. Some losses, but some of the wins I got were too long to be recorded by my Wii. I did fight a guy on my friend's list and won against his Meta Knight one night last week. It wasn't easy by a long shot. Though the video I posted tonight is not the same Meta Knight player, nor the same match.

Well these were recorded by my webcam and the resolution gets bright to regular tone...

Free for All where I was fighting against a Zelda and a Zero Suit Samus

This was my first recording done by my digital camera, but it has some darker resolution...I won the Free For All though.

sup man,

These were wifi matches right?

just a tip, you shouldnt follow your opponents, especially with ivysaur or charizard. DI'ing towards the opponent usually leaves you open for set ups ie upsmashes from game and watch.. which are a *****

Squirtle:
nice hydroplane upsmash on the 1st vid.. good to see you know how to incorporate that into your gameplay. mix up your approaches though, full jump fair follwed by a falling fair will get predictable. add some empty short hops with nairs and your good. But yeah you need to watch DI'ing into the opponent after you get hit.. very very bad habit.

Ivysaur:
ivysaurs spacing and moveset benefit him by forcing the opponent to approach on your terms, you shouldnt be chasing the opponent but rather making him come to you. retrating razor leafs and ftilts can space out well along with a throw when you know they are gonna block.

Charizard:
I loved your rocksmash into up+b in your 1st video... very nice if you had fully connected that wouldve been dope. same problem here as with squirtle is you DI into the opponent after getting hit. Another thing is dont forget to use charizards throws... they are very useful in gameplay.

Timmy,

What did I tell you when we played about using UP to attack with Zard and Squirt so much?

Its not good with Squirtle, if anything extremely situational.

And with Zard its only ok when you know it will hit AND kill.

Nice tho Tim, you are getting better.

yes these were Wi-Fi matches.

Hey there. :) I will keep this in mind. Though I mainly try to stay close to a certain person (named Hec) as if he is playing Toon Link, he will bomb me to death and lots of arrows and that boomerang. So someone else here at the PT boards said to stay close that way it messes up his bomb strategy and that we both get hit if he throws it. He often smashes too if you get close so I am constantly weaving around him. His Toon Link is why I hate Toon Link in brawl and I will target TL players in a brawl match. Same with Zelda. His Zelda is such a din's fire thrower and he will up smash you when you least expect it. So I try to stay close so I can try to match hit for hit. I hate to let him have some distance, as it can spell trouble. When I play Lucario, I can play my Street Fighter game a little with him as Lucario has projectiles of his own. He (Hec) when playing Zero Suit Samus, loves to toss armor at me at the beginning of the match, so I am now flaming him. He will rush at me too which is why I up B a lot with Charzy. His ZSS can rush me, combo and knock me back off the edge and I can loose position and fall to my early death and its a lot to work on him to get him to a high percent of damage to finish off a stock of his.

When I played Pika, it was a lot of work because he knows Pikas range and how to get around Pika's counters. It seems that when I started using Pokemon Trainer, his ZSS is working hard to get around my Squirtle. I love that turtle. :psycho:

This Hec guy plays extremely well and I am trying to match him, and I thank you for your input. Tips help. :) I did beat his Meta Knight the other night, but the match was too long for my Wii to record. He hasn't played MK that long. Though he is good with most characters that hit hard and fast. His main "mains" are Zelda, Toon Link, ZSS and will play Wolf and Ike very, very aggressively. I can beat his Wolf enough times, but his Ike is brutal.

I'm still learning, but I love PT. The whole team. Squirtle is my strongest character that I fight with, Charzy is my second. I need to improve my Ivy.

Timmy,

See its just a bit of old habit that sprung up. Like I was saying, Hec will charge me, which is to knock me off balance. You can see that in some matches I uploaded. Like the FFA where it was Ike and Wolf involved. If you notice at the beginning of the match, he rushes me with his Ike. His plan is to beat me wicked with that sword and rack up a lot of damage very quickly and early in the match. So I flame him at the beginning. He turns around and attacks the other guy. This was after he kept getting flamed or up b hit. If when the FFA starts and he is close to me, I am on the defensive.

He knows I used to have a lot of problems with recoveries. Though I improved my recoveries a lot. I never really had a recovery problem with Lucario. I would sometimes have a problem with Pika, depending on if my quick attack didn't angle in the right direction or the second part of the directional move didn't go off in time.

Hec is fun to play against, but he will be brutal if I don't watch it. Though yeah sometimes when fighting recently I remembered what you said about the up B with Charizard. I had just a few relapses. :ivysaur::007::006::item9:

Just updating my thread. I uploaded a few videos today. Sorry about the quality, but I will see about getting a capture device of some sort maybe in December or January.

The first match is againt a guy who is supposed to be good with Captain Falcon. I won. He was in disbelief and did a "No Contest" when my Ivy got him at the end. Notice how it cuts off abruptly after the up smash.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGfMEYIM7Ew

Here is a match against a new person on my friends list. He used Meta Knight. I thought I would loose, but I held on to win...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci6j5m73IP0

Here are 2 recent matches against Pokemon Master IRL. He won more matches than I did, but I am going to get better. Thanks for the matches IRL! :)

I have other matches I will upload over time perhaps this week and will update the thread here. Thanks for watching and advice is always welcomed from the PT Elders. :D

It's really too hard to base how good a person is fighting solely on online fights. Get some local match vids up, I wunna see how you do without lag as a factor.

Well, not really. If you are good on wi-fi, you WILL be good offline. I mean, if it's laggy hardcore, then I can understand.

Not necessarily. Wifi often breeds bad spotdodging/rolling habits, and fosters reliance on tactics that often fail offline. A wolf spamming blaster and spotdodge->d/fsmash will have a lot more success online that offline.

Here I fight Zelda. I beat Zelda twice this particular night. I am shocked, but glad to get the wins with PT. I couldn't save the replay on the first win as it was too long. This guy I have been trying to beat for a good while. I couldn't beat him with other characters I used, but Pokemon Trainer and some working to improve my game has paid off!!!

I did an audio swap at Youtube, but the song is not there. I guess it will transfer over soon, but if no audio, hopefully the video is good enough to see.

I actually enjoy ending sick *** squirtle combos with up b. Though it can be really impractical if you do not hit with last hit, if you do is does like 10-15% more (?) if you don't hit with last hit, you usually can FF before they punish badly or at all. I enjoy using it when I am doing so uair combos, but agreed it is situational.

Wow! No one has commented on my video in post number 15. No one has even said anything about the Zelda I fought. Why so few comments here? I know my video quality may not be the greatest, but you can still see it pretty well. :( No one has any critiques or anything about my pokemon trainer team.

I really like this new found aggression with Charizard, its suiting you well.

Don't go overboard tho, it looks like that Zelda should have been punishing some of the stuff you did left right and Centre.

I tried to stay out of the Zelda's way. When I am in the way, bad things happen. Thanks for the comment! :)

Though here is another upload of the same video which has a cleaner look to it.

Same vid, just crisper look. http://www.bebo.com/FlashBox.jsp?FlashBoxId=8460601852&

nah I post videos for feedback. :) I just said that nobody had said anything about my play or even if the Zelda was good and I was really surprised at the low response. It really surprised me. This guy I fought is a good Zelda, and he plays nasty too. I plan to venture out and try my hand at other Zeldas. I know there are tourney level players out there who do play Wi-Fi. I am going to contact one today who I have seen on Youtube. She is supposed to be very good.

I look for feedback always about my playstyle. :)

Timmy we have to play sometime.
yes we do and we will.

Well I don't have any new videos today to add to the thread, but I am going to announce some good news. I am planning to buy a Gamebridge device this month, so my Brawl videos will be greatly improved in quality. I may reupload some of the poorer resolution recorded matches to youtube and get rid of the others.

I thank all of you who did make a comment or offered any tips. I appreciate it very much.

Well my Gamebridge came today, and I uploaded a few of the saved matches I had to youtube. With the Gamebridge, I don't have to use the methods I was before, which may have blurred or intensified the lighting on some stages. So just to show them...

Team Green vs. an Ike player (someone new on my list recently added, which I don't remember exactly who it was as I added several people)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_VRbyItZPQ&feature=channel_page

Team Green vs. PWN1N. These are just a few of the matches short enough to record. I got a couple of loss matches also which weren't uploaded yet.

vs. Luigi:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFVIgKpRE3U&feature=channel_page

vs. Donkey Kong

well it started off as accidental change, but I did a few to just give some confusion to the other player.

Squirtle I couldnt really say much because you hardly use him and being that hes the last pokemon to be sent out. You always 2 stock the guy but I would say your Squirtles really good.

Your Ivysaur is was good, I would use more dtilt to stop Donkey Kong from approaching you so much. If Donkey Kong tries to approach to you in the air, use more Fair as well. Like SSJ5Goku8932 said dont spam the bullet speed because they can land some free hits on you. The most effective way to use bullet seed is to Nair if Ivysaur is in front of the character or behind. Tilts are your best friend and Ivysaur is all about range.

Try not to spam the fly so much with Charizard because you will get punished very easily and an Ike player could've have landed a free Foward Smash on you (fully charged maybe) and you could've been dead. Nice use on some of your aerials though. Grabs are your best friend because of charizards long neck and with the help of his jab moves, it will help Charizard out greatly. So basically use more jabs and grabs alon with pummels as well.

I just loved how you do that constant switching, only do that when the player is off stage because it will give you enough time to get back on the stage.

Well I haven't posted anything video related in a long while, but I got to uploading some replays recently. I will upload some more also around the holidays. Some may not remember me, but I have been here a little while but left out doing some training as such.

Well hope you enjoy the videos and critiques are welcomed. I got some "losses" matches to upload also.

and my favorite, as I got to pull the "Pants' move with Ivy in the video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0gKbJ9Q60o

do forgive the quality of the last two videos, as they were recorded with a 3.1 megapixel camera and the ones above the last two were done with a 10mp camera.

I got more to upload so I will see about it in the coming days.

Merry Christmas Pokemon Trainers! :)

EDIT: Here are some that a person I played recorded with a capture card of some sort. They are really good quality videos. I have some losses here too.
