**VERY EARLY unofficial tier list, based on what we know**

Now, by no means am I trying to say that this tier list is final or even agreed upon by everyone. But judging by what people have played at E 4 All/JumpFesta and the posts we've seen here and smashboards, there is a general consensus among competitive players as to what the tiers are. gimpyfish has collaborated directly with me and many other highly respected Smash players to create this first tier list, unofficial as it may be.

So, here it is.

No offense, but, what are you doing creating a tier list with characters that don't exist? Seriously. It's too early to create a tier list without knowledge of the entire roster, and I'm pretty sure that isn't it.

Not to mention Sakurai's making Brawl more balanced compared to Melee. A tier list for Brawl may very well be nonexistent.

will happen when the game is called super mario brawl and every character is mario reskinned in different colors 40 times. Kind of like dbz tenkaichi 3 except they reskin 3 ppl over and over again

I can give you some of the rationale behind a couple of our decisions for the list.

As for Knuckles, a VERY reliable Smash source and competitive Brawler said the following:

Knuckles is one the better characters to be honest. He is basically overpowered. He is a very heavy character, yet he is also fast on his feet... and he has tons of strong punches. He can actually climb ledges, when you use his UP B, which is Echindna Glide, and can burrow underground with his DOWN B. His Final Smash is a powerful punch to the ground that literally KO's anyone it hits, damaging anyone one the ground with shockwaves.

And Ridley is at the bottom because his sheer size makes him far too unwieldy and difficult to use. I'm surprised he even made it in the game.

Honestly, this is really sad that there are already people thinking about tier lists at this point in Brawl's development. We'll perhaps allow tier discussion after the release, but not before - then it's just spam.
