It's still cheaper to enter Montage's tournament. $25 > $17.

If Melee people are really trying to kill Brawl by doing stuff like this, they're going to end up killing both games just to spite Brawl.

You knew the other events were planned out before this one, Montage's especially, and you still picked this date instead of a Friday or Sunday or another weekend. I can't possibly respect you anymore, Velocity. You're needlessly damaging the attendance of my event and hurting the community in the process because every event will now have very few people.

Which means M2K and Velocity will win more money and nobody else will benefit anyways, so who cares? Montage was going to pay out top 5 if a lot of people came, but there goes that.

It doesn't matter if I want to be better than M2K. I'm not attending this event. teh_spamerer can't actually attend this because Lord Knight is his ride and Lord Knight is coming to Montage's event. dmbrandon, Yehs, Atomsk, and myself are obviously attending our own event.

That means Velocity and M2K will easily dominate this tournament and will be the only ones benefiting from the larger entry fee.
