Utah Thread - Dead thread is dead

Weren't you the female Peach player that posted here about a year-and-a-half ago, wanting to try to make it to a tournament but never showed up and wasn't heard of since (or until now, I guess)? (Well, that wasn't as much of a question as much as it sounded like one...)
Anyway, if it was because you didn't know anyone, then I guess getting to know Ken Neth and wangston at BYU would be a good way to start getting into higher-level competitive Smash. I can't help in this department, though, since I go to The U (which actually has a good amount of people already in our Smash scene).
Oh, and there is not really any female smashers that are regulars in our Smash scene (females that are competitive in video games are hard to come by, I guess). But, I'm friends with a couple (both of them) that used to come to every one of our tournies, but they're only coming once about every two months, now, but they also bring along a female friend of theirs when they do (so I guess that counts for something).

PS: Try to avoid double/triple-posting, as the Moderators are sometimes uptight about it (we have one "uptight" one in Utah, ourselves ).

Well where ever we play I say we play soon. Wednesday sounds good. If we played at our dorm it would be weird with more than 8 people cause it's really not that big of a room. We had 14 because we are smashers and we all know each other so we didn't mind sitting on top of each other.

True that about the no multiple post, I thought for some reason people were posting in between. I did show up, but my intro thread started a fiery storm of hellish come-ons, so I decided to stay local, for fear the same thing or worse would happen if I actually showed up to a tourney.

To bluepeach: Oh, so the reason truly was because of that. People were wondering if it was because of how some acted when "a girl introduced herself to the scene", and it's a shame that that happened. I don't remember which ones specifically did that, but I have a feeling the Mexican Brigade was part of it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when immature nerdy guys do that when a girl shows ups. I'm sorry that they drove you away.

It's true about nerds, I learned that in the tournaments I have played. We have a set up with our tv, but we also have a wee 13 inch that could be used, if you mean another tv other than the flat screen. I miss living at home and using the projector to play on a whole wall...

edit: It's not that I was offended so much as, well, I truly didn't mean to make it all about being a girl and not about being serious about smashing, so I thought I'd take a break and re-enter. I mean, I just think that I should be upfront about how I look cause I show up at video game events and people are like wtf get out of here, hair salon is down and to the left. I mean, being a smash fan people expect me to either look scary/freaky, or just show up for the attention a girl would get for loving smash. At BYU, the smashers just know me as bluepeach, and that's enough to get over the gender bias real fast, but I want to move up in the world...

LOL, you don't have to do anything extra just because we are coming over. If you could see our dorm right now, you would know that any mess you could have wouldn't compare to what we're used to.

And we can provide snacks if you want. We have meal plan cards with money that we can only spend on food...

Well, I thought it might just be a couple local smashers, I didn't realize I was located so close to some of the best in Utah. I'd have to clean my house because I'm going to want to fit as many of my friends in as I can, or maybe not, more play time for me....Yeah, actually I think I'm going to go with more play time for me...

We have class till 6:30 so that would be fine except we have something from 8:15-9:00 ish. So we could either play after 9:00 ish if you guys are late nighters or do it thursday night? Since we don't HAVE to stick to wednesdays because we don't have visitor hours.

yeah late nights are fine. I'm game with when ever. Thursday is a tournament in draper at a pnt it starts at 5 the tourney usually last an hour maybe a little longer but we stay and play friendlies but we get back at 8:30-9:00. I don't really care what time we play, Wednesday night is cool.

We're always up late. So it doesn't matter to us. There are weekly tourneys on thursdays at 5:00.

I don't really care when we do it.

bluepeach, you should seriously consider coming to the Thursday PnT mini-tourney. I wanna face new people...and Wednesday is one of my "busy" days of the week...Plus, I found out I can actually come to this one. They scheduled me for a morning shift on Thursday instead of at night!

You shouldn't worry too much about domination unless you enter the tourney. Everyone plays to win in those. But you could come for the friendlies. It'll be fun having someone new to play against.

EDIT: Oh Rade, I hope you don't take this personally, what with you being the only Fox player, but after playing with Fox against grnmonky...I've decided to train with both Wolf AND Fox.

FYI, Sada and DRGNgirl1101 = the "couple" that I was talking about. Anyway, the reason that Sada and co. don't come as often as before, is because they moved further north, around where Gojira lives, last summer.

And you guys should really tone it down. You've scared her off in the past, already, yet you're still acting like this. When new people come, and you act like this, they will more than likely take your joking around seriously. Maybe part of the reason people don't come back is because of how you guys act sometimes (ever think of that). But anyway, I don't expect you guys to drastically change or anything, so just toning the jokes down when new people show up is fair enough.
