In Vegas you say? I'm sure there's a much cheaper hotel/casino you could stay at. I mean $90 a night in Vegas is actually really expensive since they want you to spend more money gambling.

For instance, the Excalibur Hotel and Casino is about 16 minutes away (7 miles) from the tournament venue and $32 a night.. i.e. hella cheap.

Plus, it just feels more like Vegas.

I'm actually kind of interested in going to this now, what kind of car are you driving? I'm in a Geo Metro, so driving there and back is maybe $30 total for me, but I drive a can of tuna; fitting 4 people is doable, but cramped. Also my car is sketchy as ****.

I'm absolutely down to drive people there if we need more seats, I think if we went to a different hotel/car then it could be $30 a person for lodging or gas. Does anyone have any connections in the Vegas area for housing? We might want to look into staying at someones place. That would make getting groceries and food to cook for the weekend much easier if they would be cool with that, not to mention endless friendlies with out of state people.

I have a mazda 3 hatch back and I'm planning on driving. If we could find housing that would be great. Adlp thought he had some but it fell through.

Can someone give me/link me more information regarding this Vegas thing everyone is talking about? I might be interested.

Also, I'm gonna try and make it to the weekly in Provo on Saturday. Hope to meet some of you guys there.

@ Z'zgashi Z'zgashi - Idaho has it covered in PM/Melee, and Vegas has it covered in Brawl/Melee. I'm going to assume Vegas also will have it covered in Smash 4, but we are at least on somewhat even ground at the moment in it being "new" status still.

It's Bear the TO/host from Vegas Smash 4's DVDA Tournament Series.

Zankoku and the Vegas Melee team are going to be putting on a great show for Melee/PM at SHFFL UP and DEAL @ PSG the weekend of 02/20.

In conjunction with the massive Melee/PM tournament on Sat. 02/21 & Sun. 02/22, on Friday 02/20 Vegas Smash 4's regional/national/international monthly is go; DVDA#7: Year of the Goat!

I'll post event page, registration page, Smashboards, and all details ASAP. I need to clear up a few details with DVDA's venue GameWorks.

Past Vegas Smash 4 DVDAs had the following numbers for entrants:
DVDA#4 had 100+.
DVDA#5 had 200+.
DVDA#6 had 100+.
DVDA#7 has 256 cap.

Also in case y'all didn't know DVDA veterans include: ZeRo, FOW, NME Tyrant, NME Xzax, AZHP K9sbruce, Rich Brown, Sky, NME Zex, Lycan, Z, MJG, DeLux, SFA SS, Bam, Nexus and so many more.

Ah, we know Z, Fow, and ZeRo pretty well from events they've come to up here. At least, those are the ones I recognize.

Technically it goes into March, too. :p I suspect we'll see some more snow in February. I'm not really complaining about the lack of snow, I just found the updated thread title amusing.

Hi Everyone. I don't know how I went 7 years in Provo area without knowing about this group. Is the "Utah Smash Events" google doc up to date? I'd love to see how I fare at melee, PM or Sm4sh. My friend and I rocked it all in California a long time ago. If it's up to date, I plan to show up to the tuesday or saturday tournies.

That it is! Tuesday night is PM this coming week, or if you are down for Sunday tourney at Neumont two days from now, that's a possibility. BYU smashers will usually have a friendlies set up for belg I think

As far as I know it is, and I know of a smash fest happening every Thursday near BYU, and it might turn into a weekly at Joes, but Im not sure
