Brave's been in some state of development since before the game came out, if they're not ready by June then I have serious questions as to how fast the remaining 3 characters will drop.


Like you said, they're on a deadline.

Brave/Erdrick being dropped out of nowhere would be so Brawl-esque. Like Sonic's reveal except most people expected this one, just not the circumstance of the reveal.

I think Joker possibly took a lot of time away from Brave due to how they handled him, but yeah I do agree that releasing it in June would be a bit odd due to the time gap. But it depends on how much development hell there has been too.

wasn't even the main focus, he was shoved off in some closed door press release.

I guess odd E3 reveals aren't foreign to Smash, but I think that they'd want to make an E3 reveal as mainstream as possible.

So at last, we get to go back to speculating about who the next fighters will be without having to worry about when the hell Joker is coming out.
The leading theory is that "Brave" is Erdrick from Dragon Quest 3, but there are some other guesses like Bandana Dee and even Banjo Kazooie.
Personally if I were Sakurai, Wonder Red would be Brave.

I don't know why y'all are acting like Joker having a gun is such a big deal, It makes sense for the Character and the "No Guns" rule has never actually been a thing.

Doomguy has always been viable, Duke Nukem has always been viable, My MF boy Heavy Weapons Guy has always been viable guns don't hold a character back.

It absolutely was a thing...until Smash 4 DLC.


Sakurai even said it's why Snake doesn't use guns and why the Ray Gun was redesigned in Smash 4.

Guys, you know how Joker's Final Smash was edited to include sparkles instead of blood?

What if Scorpion got it, and everytime he hit an opponent, the end up bleeding sparkles? And for his final smash, he preforms a fatality which causes his opponent to explode in sparkles if it kills?

We have 4 characters left, and E3 will be 8 months until the deadline hits.

1 character every other month seems more than logical, with the last one dropping in Feb 2020.

Honestly, I just hope we can get a true ammo based fighter now. And yeah, I guess RE is the obvious choice for that and I'd be totally down with it despite never having played any of the games(outside of the Revelations demo I guess, it was fun).
Basically, anything like Mista in ASB or Eltnum in UNIST
