I like the name "Swoosh".While y'all were sleeping I was on that NUZLOCKE GRIND.
It wasn't pretty.
This is Part 9 of my Generationlocke, and Part 6/8 of the Sacred Gold portion of the run

Recap:
Comments:
- With Lance out of the way, we can now access Kanto.
- Hooray!!!!! /s
- Arceus why can't this be over?
- Foci (Staryu -> Starmie), Trish (Chimchar -> Infernape), and Simba (Luxio -> Luxray) are added to fill the vacancies left behind in Lance's wake.
- To the surprise of absolutely nobody, none of them make it out of this update alive.
- Drayano made some changes to the sequence of Kanto so you face the Gym Leaders in the order you face them in the original Kanto games.
- Neat
- After an uneventful S.S. Anne, we move on to Pewter City
- Apparently we're supposed to get more Hoenn starters here, but whatever.
- I do backtrack to get the other two Sinnoh starters though.
- Brock goes down easy to a combination of Leafy and Foci.
- Up next is Route 3. Let's get Blue some levels since she'll be useless again-
- Blue gets hard countered
- You'll find this is a recurring trend this update.
- Okay, fine, whatever. Swoosh (Swablu -> Altaria) is added.
- I really hope Swoosh makes it to the end since I love Altaria and would love to have it in further runs.
- Mt. Moon is easy in this game. It'll be noth-
- Surprise Rival Fight!
- ****.
- It's nothing too difficult. Thankfully our team is balanced so we can counter his team.
- He sends in Gengar, I send out Simba
- Luxray is Electric/Dark Type
- Gengar has Focus Blast
- Of course
- Simba gets blasted
- Of course
- Woody cleans up with Sucker Punch to finish the fight.
- Onwards to Cerulean I guess.
- Candice (Snorunt -> Froslass) is brought on to the team
- It's also worth mentioning that I'm limiting my captures on Routes in Kanto until a certain something happens, so I'm pretty much running off of the Pokémon I caught in Johto minus a few cases.
- Turns out you need to complete the Power Plant event before fighting Misty, but that didn't stop me from going to the Cape like an idiot anyways.
- Woody gets sucked dry along the way.
- So, we go all the way to the Power Plant and then all the way back to Cerulean and then back to the Power Plant to complete the event.
- Having Swoosh with Fly is a blessing. I'd like to make that known.
- So, with everything finished we cockblock Misty's date and take on her gym.
- Her gym trainers aren't too bad
- Candice gets special countered
- I've never hated Mantine more than ever.
- So, all I have is Leafy for this fight. It shouldn't be too bad, right?
- Wrong.
- Misty's first Pokémon is Politoed. Nothing too difficult, but it sets up Drizzle which is annoying.
- Up next is Lapras. Nothing too difficult again. Just set up screens and-
- Leafy gets freeze-dried
- Nothing quite like a good old fashioned critical hit, right?
- There goes to OG Champion Team
- So, now I've got nothing to really fight Misty.
- Thankfully, Foci manages to clutch out a win for us.
- Never have a loved a Starmie more than when Foci got a critical hit to win us the match
- In the wake of Woody, Leafy, and Candice's deaths Kaija (Lairon -> Aggron) and DigDug (Digglet -> Dugtrio) are brought on.
- DigDug hard counters Lt. Surge so we don't even have to mention him besides this one line
- U(p next is Celadon, so let's go there.
- Turns out Saffron, which I need to go through to get there, is still closed due to the Blackout that was supposed to be fixed by the Power Plant
- "Go the long way" is what they tell me
- :/
- Along the "long way" Foci gets special countered, Kaija gets water blasted, and DigDug gets freeze-dried
- I'll admit that Kaija and DigDug's deaths were the result of my own tired, stupidity, but Foci got countered by another ****ing Mantine
- For the rest of my life I'll carry a grudge against ****ing Mantine's and their Mirror Coat or whatever the **** it's called.
- TurtleLion, Corona, Triton, and Sleepy are all brought on to fill team slots.
- Fuschia city has a neat new event where you have to fight Cloysters?
- We got a shiny one with Skill Link though, so I'm not complaining.
- Now we fight Janine
- I'm pretty much relying on Foci since he's all I got for this one.
- She sends out Venomoth
- Uh-oh Bug type attacks
- Swap into Trish to tank a Bug Type attack
- Psychic
- Meant for Starmie
- ???
- Trish gets psycho blasted
- The fight is closed out by Sleepy and Swoosh
- Sakura (Vulpix -> Ninetales) is brought on at the very end for the coming gyms
Anyways, I guess for Kanto we'll just go by 4 badges at a time. This means I've got Erika, Sabrina, Blaine, and Blue coming up before we're finally ready to fight Red. Wish me luck everyone. I'll surely need it.
- I'm at 32 deaths. That's over a box full of dead Pokémon.
- I'll admit some of them are due to bad playing, but this is also a difficult ROM hack.
- This isn't even the hardest one of them
- I'm considering altering my rule on transferring Legendaries because of this. Maybe I'll do it for some.
- You know what? Screw it. I will.
- Rule Addition: If a Legendary Pokémon is in OU or below within the generation being played, they can be transferred
- I'm making an exception for Renegade Platinum since it might as well be Gen 7 with the changes implemented.
- Another rule addition that I've added is in regards to the use of save editing. Alongside changing levels and EVs to catch up, I'm allowing the alteration of IVs given the following stipulation for the sake of fairness: the only number that may be added is a 1 (31 is the highest value allowed with this)
- i.e. if a Pokémon has an IV of 7, I can make it 17 by adding a 1 in front of the 7.
- Again, this may seem incredibly lame, especially given that other people have made it through these games without these stipulations, but these are games where stats matter more than anything else. As you can see, even with these "safety rules" my team is dropping like flies. I don't see this changing anytime soon.
- I'd also like to comment on how much I enjoy watching team compositions change in Nuzlockes. You really get some diverse teams and I like that.
