Here's a spicy take: I like SA1 more than 2. Gamma's levels were good.

And since I saw Mario get brought up as well, I also like 64 and Odyssey more than the Galaxy games and 3D World/Land. Sunshine is worst 3D Mario (still really good, though).

I'm torn between Galaxy and Odyssey. I feel like Odyssey is more fun than Galaxy thanks to the emphasis on exploration, but Galaxy is way more of a challenge. Odyssey was almost too easy.

I think Sunshine was better than 64, but that's mainly because 64 didn't age very well by comparison. Both are in my second tier of 3D Mario games though.

The 3D games were decent, but not my cup of tea (though 3D World is leagues above 3D Land). I think 3D Land is my least favorite 3D Mario game.
