And our fanbase is any better? We’re the community who whines about which characters did and didn’t get in and whose competitive scene is composed of unsportsmanlike asshats. We aren’t better than them by a long shot.
And yes, Minecraft is popular enough to be considered.
Id say the bigger issue with the competitive scene for our fanbase is how its treated by its casual audience in general. This is the only fighter I know of that has such a huge divide between the casual and competitive player and a lot of crap gets sent the competitive players way regardless of if they actually deserve it or not.
Then when that gets to the competitive players and they react in a negative way they get pointed at as the casual audience goes, "SEE?! I was right look how they are!"
The competitive scene has its issues(as do many honestly) but a lot of the time more casual players are like Chain Chomps pulling against their chains ready to pounce out and demonize and villainize them in any way they can.
