Turbo and Macro Controller Rule

I have heard that there is a rule about Macro and Turbo controllers, that you cannot use them.
Why would Macro controllers be banned? You cannot do anything with them, if you set a maccro you lose a button to use, and as well as if you set a macro it instanly activates. And peple can be unpredictable. So it would render your Macro setup useless.

What is the reason macros are banned? Is this the reason??
You cant shorthop or wavedash or anything with the Macro. so it its pointless to use. I just bought the controller becuase it was wireless>.>

Wireless controllers universally suck since the transmission of the input creates latency in your movements.

This isn't the least bit true, do you realize how fast signals are transmitted?

There are lots of other reasons to not use wireless controllers though at tournaments, mainly due to frequency interference.

My friend has a full set of Wavebird controllers. I've tested it out numerous times. The timing for power shielding is less forgiving, combos are harder to do in Melee, and so on. Just like wireless infrared mouses lag, the same is true here. For most, the lag isn't noticeable, but everyone that I have encouraged to switch to a wired controller/mouse has performed better.

You realize you're saying radio waves, which move at the speed of light, are causing you frames of lag. Technically electricity moves at 96% the speed of light, so if anything, the wired controller should be slower, but of course at these speeds no human could ever tell the difference unless they're playing from a massive distance away.

Any lag you're seeing with wireless controllers is totally in your head or due to faulty connections.

It's not the speed of the infrared, but rather the conversion of the information which takes time. Factor in any manner of potential refraction of the signal due to something being in the way, and there will be lag.

It's really up to the TO if you can use a Macro controller or not. To be on the safe side, I'd stick with a wired one. What's so appealing about a wireless controller anyway?

Plus, unless it has rechargeable batteries, you're gonna be wasting a lot of money on new ones.

Edit: Also, person above me has been reported.

it's a shame that the hori classic controller is a turbo

I like the diamond layout of the buttons. It would definitely improve my tech performance if it were legal.

You don't lose a button. The "Macro Button" is an extra button with added functionality. Easily bannable because it gives an "unfair advantage" over standard controllers.

They suck tho bro. Bad Quality is Bad.
