If you go to Training Mode and select the speed to 1/4, you will fight in a nice, slow pace. If you do this and have the CPU you're fighting set at level 9 (Nasty), you'll learn that it is much easier to win this way. So, the question I have for all of you here is this: Does fighting at 1/4 help increase your use of attack, shielding, dodging, and evading for regular matches at x 1 (normal) speed, since you are watching the way the CPU reacts? I am wondering if this would be beneficial for fighting against human players as well.

I don't practice much in Training myself, but I don't think 1/4 would make you any better at reaction speed. If anything it should make you worse, since you form the habit of being able to see the attack coming from a mile away.

Changing speed sometimes isn't a bad thing, you can practice techniques and combos, working up the speed. Still use normal speed the most, though.

I get the feel the games goes to fast when later on I put it on 1x so I don't really use it. But it would be a way to practice.
