Ripple was incredibly impressed with Atemx, our Kirby player that is rarely recognized. He put in work. I think he belongs on the list.
CP9 belongs on the Olimar list. He got 5th at the monthly and looked amazing the whole way.
Apollo Ali belongs on the DDD list. He has improved a lot, took Sora to game 3 twice this tournament, beat POOB, and he made 13th at Shots Fired. He has most definitely earned his keep.
Ripple, in the interview we conducted, said Apollo is probably fourth best DDD around.
"Irish Mafia" is actually just called "Mafia" now.
And Darc belongs on the Cfalcon list. I don't know who he replaces, but Darc has literally not lost one Smashing Grounds he has attended since 3.5 came out. The only person who has ever knocked Darc out of SG is Korean DJ. Darc ended up winning both the weekly, the monthly, and our doubles event this week in spite of the best efforts of Ripple and our usual contenders. He is quite unstoppable and the only reason I didn't bring him up ever before was because I wasn't sure he would consistently be coming to SG.
However, he has clarified to me that PM is his favorite smash game and pretty much the main one he plays these days and he is interesting in traveling and playing in the future. He very well might be one of the best playing the game right now, flat out.

He also has an insane amount of characters.
Ike, Pit, Lucas, Fox, ZSS, Jigglypuff, Shiek, C Falcon.
He is probably the best ZSS in the entire game (I believe he's better than Numerics) but he mostly uses Fox/Falcon/whoever the **** he wants.

He has been winning MM and placing well in bracket. Yesterday just beat Zeej in grands and then beat him again after zeej MM him. There is no footage of him from yesterday but lots of it in general. Same goes for Hona as a top Ness. I know Socal players gave Hona respect. check him and Stoks out on SCGs channel.

How is Rolex not in the list of top Snake players? He placed 9th at Shots Fired and has done well in many other large tournaments.
He has next to no footage because he doesn't participate in anything other than EC majors.

They only take youtube videos. Twitch vods are unreliable and will have not been posted for character updates in the past as of yet AFAIK

I think you're right and wrong about that. The easiest way to explain it, is that some of his matches look like a strong player playing CF, not a strong CF main playing. It's more likely for him to have an artificial ceiling for playing multiple chars a lot, not on his overall skill level but on some of the individual chars. I wouldn't be surprised if that's sort of the case for his Falcon atm. Top 8 yes, top 5 maybe not unless he gives the char more priority over others (and from recent vids it looks like he's starting to do exactly that).
Not a put-down or character loyalty question, just gut feeling and coming from the personal experience that I obtained way more appreciable growth with the char after dropping many others. Might be the same for him, which is why I'm putting this out there.

Darc doesnt main anyone so with that logic he doesnt deserve to be anywhere in this list of top players lol. He doesnt main him but it doesn't mean he's not a monster with him. Just look at mango's falcon. He doesn't main him and u see him miss out on some guaranteed follow ups sometimes but sometimes he prefers to just capitalize on the reads and keep his execution simple. I would personally put darc third on this list. (Behind darkrain and gahtzu, needless to say)

Mew2King still uses Mario though as a CP, so that's why he's there. Granted, he doesn't use him as often as he did in 3.02, but you know what I mean.

You missed the point entirely. Has nothing to do with "can't be on the list he doesn't main the char". Just the observation that he probably isn't playing his best with the character due to using others as well. If I'm judging the guy for how it looks right now, placing him 3rd is too high. Not just this current list, but even a revamped list including good players like Jeapie that should be in top 5.

DMG, I legit don't really get your point. Darc does the same sick things any of the other falcon players do and he has a nasty read game, and incredibly intelligent decision making. I don't understand when people say things like "he's very fundamental with the character and he does well, but he doesn't seem good with the character" or whatever.
Does a falcon need to breverse side b in order to prove they have character specific tech? It always seems like an excuse to push out incredibly strong players who happened to be really good in Melee as well. In Darc's case, he's a god at every smash game.

I wasn't being critical of you. I was just pointing out another fundamentally strong player who doesn't explore a character fully that we still respect as a top player of the character.
Also, DMG, Darc's style has always been just extremely fundamentally strong. There's a reason everyone at SG fears him, because rather than overwhelming you with tech, he uses reads and baits to just fundamentally punish your neutral game. It's insane. There's no reason to disregard him because he "doesn't look like a falcon main."

1. His Falcon is good
2. I think a couple of people are playing Falcon more optimally, including people that are not as skilled as he is overall (Weaker player overall, but more adept with the character. Not an impossible thing)
3. The correlation for this was probably that he was playing other characters a lot, and that he would grow more optimal by probably dropping many of those other choices
That's it. That is the total extent of what I tried, but apparently failed to properly say. There is no crusade to keep him off the list, there's no disregard of his skill or bias because he doesn't "main" the character. Just an honest opinion (that had more behind it than a blank statement) over how high you guys were likely ranking him. I thought we were allowed to do that without stirring up the deadly beginnings of a ****-Storm
