You play your Link pretty well. Only suggestions I have would be to always d-throw Shiek at higher percents and ledge hop dair instead of fair in that first vid of you as Link against Shiek. Also, you used up-b too much in desperate situations later on in the match. Other than that you have a pretty good Link. I'm a little confused with the Shiek though. Not enough tilt moves and way too many arieals on the stage. Tilt moves can juggle Link like there's no tomorrow so just wondering where they were. also, chain grabbing? Still, you play a solid Link.

Sheesh, that is one arggressive Link. VERY aggressive. And I think sometimes too aggressive.

It's a really interesting style; you're always in close quarters with your opponent. Sometimes I think you should play a bit more defensively though. For example, the match that you had with the Marth. You should really try to use the fact that Marth has no projectiles to your advantage. Back off and spam some bombs/boomerangs and wait for an opening. Not just against Marth though... Shiek is tough to beat close up too. She has really nasty combos on Link. Use projectiles to try to keeps her away.

Bottom line: I think you should maybe back off once and awhile and definitely use more projectiles!

Other than that though, I saw a lot of good things. It looks like you've got good technical skill, and some pretty good mindgames. I saw great CCing and some pretty nice combos. You definitely have some skillz. Keep it up.

There are a lot of videos in this thread that aren't Link.

Man masa you love the scrahhh!, you used it a bit too much, especially when they were at low damages. Saw a few Bthrows, that's a pretty bad throw for Link unless you're getting them off the stage.

You SHed at marth a few times while throwing things when you were too close. You should probably back off when you throw things unless he is far away or is playing really defensive.

Good Link though.

Masa's Link is cooler than his Fox (if he wants me to say that).

Just watched the "Plank(Sheik) Vs Masa(Link) 1". Yeah, you rely on the up-B too much; consider using d-smash. Same goes for using d-tilt; you could have easily used d-smash in a lot of those instances when you used d-tilt.

Too many b-throws. You had many opportunities to combo Sheik of off a throw, but you didn't, simply becuase you chose b-throw. Also, I saw one instance where you b-threw Sheik away from the edge, NOT toward/over the edge. wtf?

Even though a couple of people said your Link was pretty aggressive, I still think you have a lot more room to grow, in terms of speed and combo-ing. I kinda play like you, albeit I use projectiles a lot more. But if you're going to try to CQC your opponent, you need to get faster. On top of that, you need to learn to use the right moves at the right time. For example, using d-smash instead of spin attack: spin attack is smart for finishing someone off the edge, but not near the center. If your opponent shields, you're a sitting duck. At least d-smash d-smash will push your oppoenent away, eliminating any retaliation. Plus it's shorter.

You just need time and more practice. I found, more often than not, that trickery, patience, and sheer perfection in counterattacking is what helps Link win, more than ever. It isn't about speed; it's more about speed and accuracy in exploiting an opening in your opponent. And to get those openings, you need everything Link has to offer, especially his projectiles. Keep up the good work!

thanks for all the feedback guys...i really appreciate it!! remember more vids are coming...lol
skyler - i know that...i just thought it would show the skill level that im dealing w/ a little better

yea anytime i did the b-trow was a mistake...the only throws i use are up and down...(and side sometime near ledge but not often)

im glad i chose these tough match ups because it reveals my weaknesses way more than me just crushing someone who plays a easy char...these players are very good, and will defff capatalize on any mistake i make unlike other vids i could of shown...

Match one for your link (Masa (Link) Vs Ck (Sheik)) pull out a bomb at the begining, but it kinda looked strange cause it seems you were doing something :p, lol the ending,

Match two for your link (Masa (Link) Vs Ck (Fox)) 00:15 you should of jab grabbed him, he was shieldin, bbut i think you over pressed A, lol its alright sometimes do it too, lol yes we are the same bout the grabbing thingy:p we grab alot and we get punished!, but its fun!

Rest of the match, nice, the shiek and link was good though cause you actually kept up with her/he or it.

overall = nice link with funny sh*t
and masa, no homo - randomness

I enjoyed watching your videos! Your Link is very much like mine except that I don't use Shield+Spin Attacks as much as you on the ground. I like boomerang stun+double forward smash more. Very nicely played, keep up the good work ;)

Edit:Also what was that techno/trance song in this match called and who was it by? If you know.

Good stuff man. Did pretty well against CK's Shiek but you should learn to DI better and at the right time so you're not jumping into fairs all the time. Good offensive, but a little too much spin attacks which could have gotten you easily punished especially by a Shiek. Also a little too much dash attacks used as an approach where an aerial would have been more sensible. Against his fox and marth you were grabbing way too much and you missed many times. You seem to grab when you see the opponent in front of you but honestly you need to learn to grab only after some kind of combo or hit like a jab grab or reverse grab, or when they have attacked your shield, and you won't get hit if you throw a grab in that position. Many times you had simple combos which while fairly effective could easily be elaborated on with an addition of a jab to a grab or something else. You're quite good with aerials but you don't use them often enough.

Overall I was impressed with your link, but there are a few things you need to work on.

Heheh... you'd wonder why... I actually have never played in a tournament before... I don't know too many serious smashers, and I don't go out of my way to track them down and play them. My younger brother is a pretty good marth and that's where I get most of my playing time, other than a few friends and occasional parties. Despite my inexperience tournie wise, I'm confident I could give Stos more than just a match. I guess I should play out more often, though delorted, at 6 foot 5, I think I'd be a bit scared to play you...
