To be good at Melee, is to troll.(srs post)

Okay bear with me...Some of my friends were discussing the word trolling on facebook yesterday. Eventually they looked into the etymology of the word troll & decided that it was not named after the creature troll. But the act of fishing. so your trolling, you are fishing for responses.

"to draw on as with a moving bait, entice, allure"

So in melee...isn't that what you do? You constantly do things that poke at your opponent in many ways, to fish for (favorable) responses & take avantage of them so you can LOL & be satisfied.

I always equated gimping with trolling. Gives me the same emotional reaction, on both ends of it.

I love playing people who are really predictable and you can just wavedash back and grab them or do some other obviously repetitive punish over and over. It feels very similar to trolling people on the internet.

LOL. also, I played brawl for the first time since I started playing melee (a couple years now) & it was ... something. my friend likes to camp hard (duh) and play five stocks. lol it was funny all I did was punish rolls and air dodges to win. also, metaknight is **** LOL
