Okay honestly, I'm here to vent because I lose my patience during the match so quick that I get angry and i **** up and lose. And I barely fight any good Mks so I need those tips. But mostly give me a tip on handling a whorenado one. When they use their whorenado after like 3 times I lose my patience and get *****. Also, tips on the spammy using jump's mk. Like they keep using Dair after Dair it's annoying espically when I get off stage.

But yes, any other valuable tips would be very helpful.

Meh, for whorenado spammers, I think you can hit them out of it with a Nair or maybe a Dair if your right above them.

Otherwise...I dunno really lol. Take advantage of Luigi's kill power on that light bat thingy.

In addition to what he said, spacing spacing spacing.
Fireballs don't stun him much for some reason but spam that ish anyway for peace of mind.
N'air/v-air out of Mach Tornado when directly above, if not DI and dodge the hell outta' there.
Also, ^tilts and short hop double aerials rack up damage pretty quick on Metaknight but be warned..
DO NOT attempt the Super Jump Punch, stick to the ^angled popchop.

The Super Jump Punch will most likely be avoided and it'll be punished.
And if he gets you off stage..
Let's just say, I've had misfires lose to that Shuttle Loop.
And dude was clearly over 100% to my maybe 35%? :(

..
Screw that, if you got a life - show some balls.
Jab to fire uppercut that f'er.

Yeah I don't even bother playing against MK anymore. Next tournament if I run into a good MK I'm just going to counterpick with MK and see how it goes. I know all that I should do against him it just doesn't work when put into practice.

I don't see how the tornado ***** Luigi lol. He may not have any reliable options to stop it but as long as you Smash DI out of it ASAP or tilt your shield up and etc. then you should be fine for the most part.

On a random note, I think Nair beats shuttle loop.

You can U-smash MK out of his tornadoe at the begining of the animation.
I haven't played very good MK's

If you can do lots of Powershields the MK match-up shouldn't be bad, since you can punish him almost all the time. If you PS a shuttle Loop you can SH Fair/Uair him guaranteed and a PS dsmash is a free shoryuken IIRC. The problem is that Luigis weird knockback takes many opportunities to punish him away...even if you just shield you will be pushed back too far away...but after a powershield MK is always open. I always beat the nado with a smash or a sh nair and it always works.

Luigi doesn't lack priority and since his aerials are pretty fast he can do fine in the air vs MK...timing is the key

If he's d-airing you when you're off the screen, chances are you won't come back. That attack gimps Luigi like crazy.

If he's approaching with d-air, I'd say a shieldgrab or sidestep, u-tilt then go with whatever. If he's spacing d-air (not sure if you can do that, but it might be possible) space fireballs to force him to approach.

I've got two words for you. The first one is game, the second is watch.

I played OS' s meta quite a bit this weekend and it reinforced to me just how broken and unwinnable this matchup is. There's no reason to fight meta with luigi, you have to be so much better than the other player to get ahead in this one that its just not worth it. Play a GOOD meta, and try to recover. Please.

If my Mario loses to Metaknight, I use Fox or Luigi..

I pretty much just camp it out with Luigi, and if I get one hit in, I lead it into what ever combo I can think of. I'll post videos later..

IMHO Luigi is getting swept up under the top-tiers MK and D3 but not entirely at his own fault but our own. Yall have aggressive styles(jus natural to us I tink) and it's hurting luigi's game cause while Luigi can rock a lot of characters hard up close and go toe to toe with the best his mobility leaves something to be desired when it comes to opponents like MK. Take three moves- grounded fireball spam, his jab coming out in 3 frames and being second only to his ftilt in range, and upsmash directly out of shield taking only 8 frames, and try camping out MK.
-juz Fireball spam from the ground all the time, it is the best way to use fireballs
-jab grounded MK approaches, dash attack, attempted dash grabs, etc.
-Shield->Upsmash aerial approaches, aka fair/dair, glide attack, mach tornado, etc.

Stick to those basics and you'll find it doesn't take long until nearly half of Luigi's fresh moves will KO MK, non-angled Fsmash before 80%, Bthrow as early as 90% depending where you are realistically on a neutral course, fresh strong hit Dair, Bair, and Nair all by 110% and uptilt by 115%, and so on. Luigi's weight advantage + KO power advantage + effective truly campy strategy = high tolerance for mistake for luigi and low tolerance for mistake for MK.

No shorthop double aerial approaching, no spotdodging. it just gets you punished and are all simply luigi habits from playing in an environment where you can get away with it, like vs. slower characters or characters that luigi can grossly out prioritize or in online play.

is his controler like.. missing the b button?

hahah!! that made me laugh so hard

anyway i agree with eten. most of us are TOO aggressive, anyone whos played me knows i don't know the word "defense". i know i lose so many opportunities to land upbs in lagged attacks and i don't get many powershield chances because of my lack of proper defense.

It does outspeed and/or outprioritize a lot of Luigi's moves. It ***** people who fall for it over and over, like in any other matchup, but a better player would be able to avoid taking too much damage from it (especially with the new discovery that you can pivot grab him out of it with almost every character including Luigi)

On a random note, up b <_<

So I've heard. I can only do a pivot grab on a grounded tornado but I dunno on a floating tornado >_>. And it's pretty hard to grab out of it considering how close it is, unless they're approaching you with it.
