Ledgehogging was rather boring and anti-climactic. It's much more fun to watch someone get launched into the blastzones rather than like

1. Nair/Shine
2. Nair/Shine their 2nd jump
3. Grab ledge
4. ???
5. Profit!


Though un-related but I'm mildly displeased that certain amiibos when summoned in Smash 4 for editing, they perform one of their idle animations rather then their actual taunts. I've found that both Charizard and Robin fall victim to this and I was disappointed. Robin doesn't do a cool pose or the magic spinning things, Robin just calmly flicks the sword in the air while doing the D-taunt line. It would be interesting if you could customize what animation/taunt an amiibo would use but oh well.

I haven't beaten FE7 yet, but I have to say that Lyn is my favorite lord in the series... or second favorite if you count Robin. She's a pretty awesome character all things considered.
I would play the hell out of her as well.

I still wonder what's taking the PM team so long to reveal those leaked characters.

I bet they are punishing us because they were leaked.

I don't miss the old crappy ledge mechanics.
You know what's painful? When you are helpless and some douche grabs the ledge before you do, so you fall to your death.
The new mechanics give me a fighting chance at least and adds more strategy.

I've asked this a lot, want to hear what you guys think

On one hand, ledge play has a bit more strategy to it now, and since edge hogging is gone, people are more encouraged to gimp people in other ways.
But there's no denying that the old ledge mechanics helped the matches go by faster, and time is a big problem with Sm4sh right now. And it's not like edge hogging was brainless either, you needed to know when and how to grab the ledge correctly.
So as you can tell i'm kinda mixed.

Because I really want to see Nintendo and Koei do a Fire Emblem: Warriors game similar to Hyrule Warriors, I decided to come up with a potential moveset for Kamui! Enjoy!

Male and Female - Both versions of Kamui will be available, however in story mode once one gender is chosen, the other will be locked until story mode is completed.

Weapon - Yatogami and Dragonstone (Element = Darkness or Fire)
Description - Kamui's blade of choice, it is said to be an ancient sword of Hoshidan origin. The Dragonstone accompanying it allows Kamui to transform into a powerful dragon.

Character Ability - Manakete's Rage: When Kamui uses strong attacks that involve his dragon form, his dragon gauge will fill up. This gauge directly influences Kamui's Strong Attack 1.

Moves (Note: This is based on the Wii U Gamepad) -
Strong Attack 1 (X) - Kamui transforms into a dragon, launching a powerful fireball forward that eventually explodes. The size, range, and power of this attack is dependent on how filled Kamui's dragon gauge is.

Strong Attack 2 (YX) - An uppercut with the left arm as a dragon claw. The attack ends with Kamui in the air, allowing for aerial followups. The attack also produces shockwaves on the ground (similar to Volga's YYX attack)

Strong Attack 3 (YYX) - Kamui slams Yatogami into the ground, causing a small earthquake shockwave. Enemies hit by this attack will get stunned, allowing for followups. This attack can also break enemies guards.

Strong Attack 4 (YYYX) - Kamui stabs forward with Yatogami, then slams the ground with his left arm as a dragon claw, then finally hits with a massive left-to-right horizontal slash.

Strong Attack 5 (YYYYX) - Kamui lunges forward, grabbing the nearest enemy with his left arm as a dragon claw. Kamui then jumps into the air, throws the enemy into the ground, and finally slams into the ground himself.

Strong Attack 6 (YYYYYX) - Kamui activates his dragon wings, then flies headfirst into the enemy, spinning with Yatogami outstretched in front of him (similar to Meta Knights side B). The attack ends with an uppercut slash, followed by a powerful fireball from a fully transformed Kamui in midair that explodes upon contact with the ground.

Special Attack - Dragon Gale: Kamui launches himself and surrounding enemies into the air with a powerful spin slash, then transforms into a dragon and blows enemies away with a powerful gust of wind from his wings.

Focus Spirit (or equivalent technique) - Kamui enters full dragon form, increasing his attack power exponentially.
|____ Normal Attack (Y through Y x6) - A series of slashes with Kamui's claws. The final hit can break guards.
|____ Strong Attack (X and any YX combo) - Similar to Kamui's base Strong Attack 1, but always at full power.
|____ Finisher (When Focus Spirit runs out) - Kamui roars intensely, causing a massive shockwave.

Sprinting Animation - Kamui glides swiftly by activating only his dragon wings.

Victory Animation - The camera pans around Kamui from behind to the front. After a few seconds of epic cape billow-yness, Kamui plunges Yatogami into the ground, folds his arms across his chest, then gives a little head tilt and smirk as a silhouette of his/her dragon form appears behind him/her.

I was going to include potential battle quotes, but since we don't know too much about Kamui's personality yet, I think I'll hold off on that. So let me know what you think! If I missed anything or you have suggestions, feel free to say so!

Today's Learning Target: We will be able to understand Robin's edgeguarding techniques/set-ups and how to apply them in actual matches by watching and discussing a video where @ Raziek success implements those technique against The_Cardinal and bodies him for it.

In all seriousness, thank you for the honest feedback. And if posting my matches on the boards, even the ones where I lost horrendously in, help everyone learn, especially me, I am fine with that.

I do feel that I eventually did realize some of my mistakes with positioning, especially since I was noticing that I was putting myself near the ledge a lot, the Smash equivalent of being in a corner in a traditional 2D fighting game. I also did try to mimic your use of elwind later on but my application of it was often off. I also learned (amongst many other things) through our matches that edgeguarde elthunder is not so much about the actual hit but the resulting set-up. Will try make to incorporate that into my training and matches, along with trumping, elwind mix-ups, and most importantly, being more mindful of my positioning (though I feel that last one will be the hardest to improve on but that's fine).

Naturally, your decision of what to do or not do with these texts are up to you but I thought I'd share them because they were some of the first things that popped into my mind after I read your poem

Interesting verses, and thanks for bringing them up! Truth be told, I wasn't citing from any verse or text in particular, and I'm not a religious individual by nature - like any good, honest writer, I merely find the Bible a great source of inspiration from which to crib ideas and thematic content. Although the poem isn't actually a critique or pastiche of the Bible per se, there's definitely a spiritual motif to it.

In case you're interested, the actual meaning of the poem as I intended it:
