So now we know when Morgan came into the picture...

Wait, you can name equipment in the game?

I can't speak for records since I don't have access to online with my 3DS here, but I'm probably doing awful. How can you assess how you're doing based off of local/computer battles? In terms of who your best character is, I mean.
Yep. You can.

Where are you guys getting these fraction numbers from? All I see in the records is number of KO's, self destructs, etc
I'm just making them myself with fractions. 3 wins, 5 loses... so 3/8.

I'm going to be honest- I haven't focused on Online much since getting the US version. I've been beating Smash Run and Smash Blast as everyone. On my Japanese copy, I'm 21/35, so that's 60%. Not bad...

Oh, the possibilities... I need to do that.

EDIT: In response to naming your weapons.

You can find the 'For Glory' numbers in the online menus. (With Anyone -> For Glory -> Records)

The other numbers you can find in Vault -> Records -> Fighter Stats -> (Battles/Victories/Losses)
Ohhhh. Thanks.
For Robin I have 90/144 wins, Shulk 65/104, and Lucina 47/83.

Yeah I feel pretty dumb for not realizing that, lol. 60% wins is not bad, not bad at all.

Ha ha ha, sometimes the most obvious things are just hiding in plain sight! I was late to class today because I was missing my room key and had to search for it... only to find it five minutes later in my back pocket.

Yeah, I'm happy with my 60% on my Japanese version, but I find it really funny that I only have 37.5% on my English one. I'm just realizing now that I have completely neglected online play since it came out internationally.

So, under Records you can go to Stats, and it lists fun things like who you've won and lost with the most, who you use the most, who's taken the most damage, etc. Robin topped almost EVERYTHING. Kind of shocked that I've used Lucina the second-most though. I thought for sure it'd be Duck Hunt or Palutena (because Smash Run) or even Dark Pit.

That's Lucina for me.
Second favorite is always either Ganondorf or Lucario.

Some of these are eye-openers. I was shocked to see that Lucina and Dark Pit have eclipsed Robin since I got the US version. I have self-esteem problems when it comes to Marth (I'm only okay in the big scheme of things when it comes to using Marth and often lose when I play as him, but he's one of my favorite characters to use), so it's reassuring to know that I'm doing well as Lucina! I'll have to change that though and start working on Robin some more...

Also, does anyone else love trolling the people online who use just one character with one skin constantly? After about three matches against the same foe, I'll switch my characters to whoever they're using and copy their color. Half of the time, they'll throw themselves off the ledge at the beginning of the match in confusion XD

I like Lucina as a character and fighter, it just shocked me to see her used on my game so much.

Looking at the other fighter records, I was shocked to see that apparently I've used Kirby a lot, too. I don't even remember using Kirby much.

EDIT: I'm trying to fight level 9 computers to get a feel for who my best character is, and either I really suck or they're stupidly broken. I got TWO KOs with Robin and no more with her or anyone else, though I did come VERY close to beating a Mario once.

For those who care, Harmony of Heroes came out a few days ago. It's a 100% free fan-made album dedicated to the Super Smash Bros series, and by extension, Nintendo.

The website is under a lot of strain due to traffic, so you may have to give it some time.

I think every Smash fan probably knew about this, it has been hyped by quite some time now, but thanks anyway Hong-chwan!
Also i just had a super close Robin vs Marth match, and landing that victory Levin Fair has to be the most satisfying thing i have done in the game so far :4robinm::4robinm::4robinf::4robinm:

I'll definitely have to check that out. I love fan remixes.

Just did a Classic run with Wii Fit Trainer. She's another potential main/secondary, possibly even above Duck Hunt. I'll have to play her a little more first, though. She's not topping Robin, though. Arcfire spam for life.

Also, everyone should perform a 3DS system update.

They released themes, today. Right now the ones they have on the store are mostly just boring Mario characters, but they also have some free ones on the system with the update for a change in colour.

Sadly I can't for a couple of weeks. Being stuck up at college stinks with Wi-Fi not strong enough for my 3DS. Maybe they'll have some more up my alley next time I'm home. I'm hoping for at least some Pokémon ones closer to OR/AS.

Hello all, it is a lovely day to tip the scales with you.

Now, I'm not sure if this is the right place to bring this up nor do I know if it is appropiate to discuss at length nor do I know if it has, but something is bothering me about one of the M!Robin palettes, and I'd like to know if it's alright to bring forth my interjection.

(In retrospect, I think I'm kicking up a lot of fuss and just go for it)

Thank you.

So, what is this thing that bothers me about one particular palette?

So, the palette I'm talking about is the black-haired one (I'm using it because hey, matching hair colour) and I'm looking at his robes and I think:

"Why do they look like a White Mage's robes? Like, the ones from Final Fantasy?"

Probably because it's a deliberate reference.

The corresponding Female palette is likely a shout-out to the Pink-haired protags of XIII/XIII-2

Well, with how Sakurai outright likens Robin in Smash 4 to the Mystic Knight, not to mention his clamouring over Final Fantasy in Famitsu prior, I'd say he is a fan of the series.

He did indeed dote over FFXIII in detail.

Interesting, Interesting...

I wonder if classic FF classes would be in the inevitable SSB5. But I suppose that's really something we can't comment on.

I would like more Mage-types in Smash, though....

Personally speaking, I don't mind the reference at all. In fact, I am only somewhat disappointed that they didn't throw in a Summoner or Blue Mage alt in there somewhere (the ones we already have don't count in my opinion).

Square Enix rep confirmed for Smash 6...?

SSB5 is the Wii U version. Sakurai considered it to be the fifth Smash game in an interview last year with Kotaku, and the 3DS version is supposed to be SSB4.

I would not mind a Konami or Square Enix representative since they were so important for Nintendo back in the 90s.

With their relationship these days, Konami is unlikely, but Square Enix is certainly possible.

Well considering all things, I think a Final Fantasy rep is more likely than a Dragon Quest rep, unless it turns out that Sakurai is an even bigger fan of the latter franchise.

And about Konami, I would love to see Simon Belmont make it in as a playable character, with either Death or Dracula as Assist Trophies.

Oh, right, but there's also that guy to think about.:snake:

FF is another series on my "series I need to play badly" list. Unfortunately, most of the games are on systems I don't have. The series seems right up my alley, though.

And after doing a couple of battles, WFT is definitely on par with my Robin now. They're two of my best characters not just in this game, but in the series. Funny, because I kind of forgot about WFT until it was time for me to use her for Classic. I still haven't given everyone a fair go yet, but here's what I'm predicting.
Mains::4robinf::4wiifit::4duckhunt:
Secondaries: :4darkpit::4palutena::4miibrawl::4greninja:
Tertiaries: :4lucina::4villagerf::4megaman::4pikachu::4shulk:

Still haven't given :4zss: and :4sheik: a fair run yet. I have a good gut feeling on them. :4ness: is also borderline-tertiary, but I'm not quite comfortable with him right now (still better with him than all past SSBs, but even here I was better with :lucas:. and that goes beyond the customs Ness absorbed from him).

Which is why that's my favorite Female Robin!

Unlike what seems like the vocal majority (minority?), I absolutely loved the XIII saga. FF XIII is one of my all-time favorite games and truly holds a special place in my heart. XIII-2 was a fun little evolution of the ideas of FF XIII and would have been alright if it had ended there. Lightning Returns wasn't necessary, but was still a pretty fun game that I'm so glad that I played (and I selfishly wanted more time with the cast that I had fallen in love with). I'll admit- I've only every shed a tear three times in my whole history of video games, and the ending of Lightning Returns when I realized that I was done with the characters that I really loved was over was one of those moments.

ill do it asap Hong

so today I went on for glory because I wanted to play villager to see how many people didnt understand the tree mechanics, specifically I was wanting to test b revresal down b on the tree to chop it on their face. I went 22/1. People are bad on wifi, because my villager is not good at all, I just chop trees, spam gyros, and combo nair into utilt.

Oh I also went two games as robin and won both. One was vs a palutena which was annoying, but she managed to get hit by a levin bair so that was that game.

I just played a WFT named Kheld and i will never see you again but you gave me so much good MU exp Kheld-chan ;-;

Lucina is like my "redemption" character. When I don't manage to win matches with Shulk or Robin, I throw Lucina into the pit and I guess I've so far... pulled through when I use her.

Okay, Sheik is a big no, it turns out. ZSS I'll have to try later.

Robin and WFT remain the queens, and Duck Hunt the... Duke, I guess.

Well, I do believe that I just met the definition of "bodied", with a Little Mac

Match 1:Managed to get a KO on him, but eventually lost.
Match 2: No KOs, Arcfire has too much arc.
Match 3: Switched to Shulk, didn't really feel it. There was a nice sequence where we kept missing eachother with our sideBs. Also, apparently Vision can miss if it counters the sideB.

Rough. Better luck next time. Maybe reference one of the other threads in this forum for advice?

Mac vs robin its important to remember that he has armor on a good deal of his moves. charge your thoron slowly as he will most likely rush you down. Mac penetrates your zone, so try to get arc fire off when possible to keep him zoned and so you can charge thoron. Keep in mind that you can spot dodge and shield out of charging, so use that to your advantage. when mac gets in, youll have issues due to robins tools, but a spaced fair will get him away well imo. fair OoS is safe on mac, and if mac goes through you with a dash attack or a side b you can Usmash OoS for a safe option. In general. when you get him off you, start storing thoron. it can work super well in conjunction with arcfire to setup a kill. also remember to SDI out of macs jab.

Also I dont know if I ever talked about it but im a speedrunner as well.I work on Ocarina of Time categories,particularly one I am close to WR in called All Medallions, although I havent worked on it in over a month. I also created a few routes that involve arbitrary goals but exploit a lot of cool glitches. idk if anyone cares, just wanted to share lol

Elthunder is also a decent anti-Macdonalds tool since it's economical to your tome uses and holds him in place for a moment. Really, you're stalling for time with things like Arcfire(though I find myself using it for combos) to keep charging tomes, so keep a sharp mind and you can usually capitalize on any smash attack you land with the Levin Sword, for example, to charge a bit. It's a matter of high patience.

And if LM's annoy me, I bring out my trump card in Samus and usually kill them through an onslaught of projectiles.

You know who female Robin reminds me of?

Jinx from League of Legends.

Something is just...you know...similar.

I can't put my finger on it.

Oh yeah, they both have two long ponytails. :troll:

Or Hatsune Miku.

But oh well, I don't really enjoy LoL, so I won't bother getting into this.

But a different matter: My first post on this board!
I plan to play as either Robin, Link or Shulk, since all of them are prette decent and interesting... also Fierce Deity Link.

I have 13/14 with Robin this far, but can't really hit with his aerials properly... but hey, I have still managed to hit nosferatu most of the time, and it feels sooo good...
Looking forward to socialize with fellow FE fans or compeditive Smashers!

I have 29/63 at the moment. My problem is 90% emotional, where I lose to someone I KNOW is bad, but I'm just not good enough to punish their obvious plays yet, and lose 5 times in a row. I think I've only played 1 person on For Glory that I actually thought was good.

So, who else picks Little Mac when he's sick of scrub moves? (Like spamming falling Dairs)

Ha, Little Mac as a counter pick.

Samus is the best counter pick for me. hidden Missiles and Charge Shots destroy anyone dumb enough to not get close. And if they can't block well, their shield goes boom and they die to a forward smash.

I'm going through the whole roster right now and fighting level 7 computers on FD with no items and 2 stock just to see who I can even hold a candle fighting as. I'm busy with school, so this will be a slow process. So far, I have:
Amazing: :4robinf::4wiifit::4darkpit::4duckhunt::4greninja::4shulk:
Decent: :4lucina::4palutena:

I still have a lot more I need to try out, though now I'm getting a feel for what kind of characters I excel with. Once I go through them all, I'm going through the "amazing" category again at level 8, and then whoever is left at level 9. I have the best feeling so far for :4robinf:, :4wiifit:, :4greninja:, and :4shulk:. :4duckhunt: was great but not as smooth to me as those four, and :4darkpit: barely squeezed into the amazing category. I'm not changing my sig yet though because I'm tired of changing it 5000 times and would rather wait until I have my mains down.
