This is why I play Lvl 8. CPUs in order to lower the cheapiness. However, I noticed also that if you stop trying to fight aggressively against them, they kinda lose their cheapiness. Thaye aren't as mean approeachers as the human players I met in For Glory. (Man the difficulty pinballs about there.)

Also, apparently the fighters themselves love to throw sass and salt on others' wounds. :seuss:
Thanks! Yes, Level 8 comp is much better, alright.

At the other topic: I have a really bad time trying to to tilts, especially sidetilt. I get smashes or running a so often its not even funny anymore X)

great, adding you as I write this!
I wanna hop in as well. Dunno if I have you added yet, but yes.

Controls can feel bit unreliable at times indeed, though also the fact that you have to really "connect" to your opponents also has you adjust (I'm having hard time playing Marth due this). The fact that you can't change the button functions anymore sucks major balls too.

Anything I'd do to make Y another Attack-button...

I think they did the best they could with the 3DS, though, so I can't really hold it against them.

The New 3DS might help people who have that c-stick itch.

I'm actually getting the hang of the controls. Sometimes I don't get 100% precise stuff still (I've already screwed up Lucario's recovery a couple times >_>), but when it comes to specific attacks I can do basically what I want to do.

Give it some time. After years of using a Gamecube controller, it takes a little while to get used to a new control scheme. The lack of C-Stick does make some things more complicated, though...

Thanks! Yes, Level 8 comp is much better, alright.
I'm actually noticing a pretty big gap in difficulty between Levels 8 and 9. I can 3 stock Level 8s half the time, but I go down to the wire against Level 9s.

Yea I think it's doable since we can at least learn our character until the wiiu version comes out.

I'm noticing personally robins oos options are pretty limited/poor. Nair sometime hits if they are tall enough, but robins grab range is piss poor imo, and unless they are spacing really poorly you'll wiff it. Most if the times I'm Just rolling away when people are pressuring my shield since it seems like none of the options will hit.

If they are behind you pressuring shield I've found that usmash oos seems to cover you, given they are close enough. Any thoughts on this?

Off topic, but Sazzy Latias, your sig is incredible.:4robinm:

I've at least stopped from mixing up the grab and shield buttons. I'm also slowly not mixing up the A and B buttons.

Guess who I got farthest in difficulty for Classic with? Hint: it's not Duck Hunt. 6.5, which isn't incredible (I'm a very casual smasher), but still probably the best I've ever done in any of the Classics in any SSB. I even got to fight Master Core. I tried 9.0 with Duck Hunt to be brave and ended up at 6.0. Everything up to that point was no problem, then Master Core whipped me. More specifically, the dog-scorpion form. His biggest form wasn't that bad for me.

I ended up beating it on 9 with Mac. I feel like Mac is one of those characters everyone should know because he counters camping. Then again, we camp pretty hard too given that our times are on low respawn time.

And thanks haha, I love that gif. Gangrel for smash 5 4chure

So after trying everyone at least a couple times I found I enjoyed Robin (and Mac, but that's not the thread for that) so much more than I already thought I would.

Every hit with the Levin sword is incredibly satisfying, and Arcfire is an awesome spacing tool that seems to catch people off guard alot.

Thunder's a good projectile, but I just find myself charging Thunder off and on during a match. Arcfire's probably the most useful spell.

Robin's got pretty pathetic grab range and damage with the bronze sword, although I actually like the dash attack. Takes some getting used to.

Overall I think Robin's turning into the most obvious main choice for me. We'll see, though.

I think we might need to get some structure in here and sort out who's who and who'll host :D
EDIT: Ok, currently in @ ~ Valkyrie ~ ~ Valkyrie ~ 's (IndyGo ingame) room, waiting for everybody to join while him and Flaxr duke it out.

EDIT2: Note to anybody doing matches like us via the forums: A little bit of organisation helps a ton. Like, waiting a short bit after every match and checking if anybody wrote something.
And having as many Friendcodes as possible so people can just join in would probably help, too ;)

Going from Shulk immediately to Robin leads to some silly results, lol. Throwing out Dash Attacks and Nairs and Fairs like I have those massive attack arcs. D:

Hmm... So in this one, the only advantage of tap jump is being able to up + b out of shield? Now we usmash out of dash regardless of setting. That said, since I play Charizard, maybe it's best that I keep tap jump on.

Edit - Actually, if you just roll your thumb from your jump button to your B while holding up, it will work just fine without tap jump. Hm.

ROBIN IS SO MUCH MORE FUN THAN I EVER IMAGINED. holy crap. I stayed up until like 5 am last night playing with him/her (oops lol). btw, I thought I was gonna use male Robin more often but idk I've been using female a lot more. All the victory quotes are really cool and in character too.
A GOOD TACTICIAN HAS NOTHING TO FEAR! FEMALE ROBIN MASTER RACE :4robinf::4robinf::4robinf::4robinf::4robinf::4robinf::4robinf:

I noticed something about Chrom's appearance in one of Robin's victory animations...

He doesn't blink.

My spine tingles every time Chrom bellows "WE'RE NOT DONE YET!" during the Final Smash.

Should have that attitude during his regular fighting. :V

"Sorry Father, I won't become a burden for you. So let me take your place so you won't have to worry about burdens anymore and come out randomly to fight based on an RNG god."

:4lucina:

Actually, that's something Robin would say.

Listening to the trailer, I notice that the grunts that Lucina used in the trailer, well some of it was Robin! I heard it when she did her Dancing Blade and Dolphin Slash.

I have to agree with level 9 AI a bit. If I go Lucario, I can two stock them with a bit of difficulty because this plays RADICALLY different than Project M. This game is very defensive. I actually got incredibly flustered trying out the Brawler Mii earlier. Brawler Mii just feels so damn natural to me. However going up against someone like Dark Pit was just incredibly frustrating.

Try to aerial approach? Shield grab.
Fsmash on shield by accident? Fsmash from opponent.
Land a grab/attack and ready to follow up? Constant air dodging that produced no risk.
Whiff an attack? Dodge perfectly behind you and grab/attack.

This game's defensive options are just way too good. I'm actually afraid to commit to anything in neutral or counter play. If the level 9 AI can do this, then watch it grow worse against human players with more experience. I just hope this changes once the metagame develops. I'm fine with game play like this. Just let me combo.

Such a big learning curve...I like it.

My hands will be hardwired once I master Robin.

I don't know. Everything about Robin for me feels very natural.

I was born to play this character.

I am Robin. :4robinf:

I could say the same thing.

Except perhaps with a different emoticon. :4robinm:
