FE characters fight in a war between demons and angels, naturally since they are always the good guys they help the angels and go to the Law route, but after seeing the messed up **** there, they decide to go to the Persona games universe instead, where at least "Anime good guys" rules apply.

Psh, the entire plot to Radiant Dawn was basically Ike and Co. saying, 'screw you' to the god of order, and siding with the Chaos route instead (granted, in this particular instance Yune is nowhere near as dickish as either YHVH or Lucifer). That said, WOWZERs I cannot wait for SMTXFE.

It's quite simple, really. Robin is the best newcomer in this game by far, and that is an undisputed fact.

But she did, the only reason that Robin fan-base was so passionate was because a leak declared that it wasn't possible for us to have her. No one had faith in her beautiful strategy! So naturally, we; being the hipsters that we were, migrated here to discuss the possibilities that were not Chrom!

Because they could not as little as get her fighting stance right, and being a clone, I can't give her anything more than 4/10. Unlike Dark Pit, I actually like her a lot as a character, so she gets some points. If they got some aspects about her appearance right, but she was still a clone, I would be willing to bump that up to 6/10.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Lucina got in was because she could easily be a marth clone. I would love to see an original Lucina but im happy she made it in at least as a clone.

They should have changed Lucina's neutral-special to the Megavitamins and her side-special to the Electroshock Arm. That would have made her different!

Lucina's announcement of getting in Smash was a glorious day for me, but I won't lie when I say that her being an identical clone of March, from idle animations to Specials, does weaken my excitement for her.

Nonetheless, I love her enough anyways to be able to let it slide. Still would prefer her to be more original though.

I've played Awakening, but I never saw what made her so great in the first place. Personality-wise, I prefer Chrom, but for Smash, we could've gotten either one with the same result. That's part of the reason I'm interested in Robin.

At least she does her trademark stance in her Counter.
It is disappointing.

Also, much in favor of sacrificing Doc, Dark Pit, and Toon Link to the Semi-clone Lucina gods.

It's the content that matters most to me.

Lucina is my favourite Fire Emblem character after Ike, but I'm afraid she just lacks content. Even if they could just give her proper animations, I'd be at least okay with it, but I'm afraid not. No matter how much I like a character in their source material, all that matters to me is how they operate in Smash Bros when it comes to Smash Bros. It's because Dr. Mario is just Mario that I can excuse him being the way that he is.

But "IT'S IN THE DNA! " doesn't cut it for Lucina.

Honestly, if she was a clone of anyone, it should have been Ike; Chrom fights a lot like Ike, and Lucina fights like Chrom, so...

It would have also been nice to have Lucina as an Ike clone because we have already had a clone of Marth once before, one that some people actually wanted back for some godforsaken reason.

What about Ike with a tipper mechanic to satisfy "It's in the DNA!"

Or just add the Koopalings as the new Marth clone and call it a day.

To rub it in, she only fought like Marth in Awakening because they literally just slightly altered the work they had done with Lucina.

Yeah. A headswap that some first year 3d intern threw together during lunch is a good canonical basis for saying Lucina fights like Marth. Sure, Marth somehow was wearing Lucina's exact attire even though he exists a millennium before she was even born. Yeah, okay.

I most certainly agree that being an Ike clone would have made it less painful. Lucina is more elegant than Chrom, sure, but still nowhere near as graceful as Marth. No one will ever be that fabulous.

I believe you have it backwards.
Marth's idle pose doesn't fit Lucina in the slightest. She does not need to pause to fix her hair. She is already perfect.

And here I still think I would have loved Lucina more as a representative over Chrom if giving an unique moveset. Well, I think I just would have now preferred her over him. Silly guys, they are advertizing those custom covers you can change on your New 3DS? Based on color schemes and the character-themed boards as I can see.
I guess this means seeing Kirby and maybe Diddy, and Samus as one of the choices. I dunno.

But my my, this commercial is outright funny and cute at the same time. Just look at that suave Tink. I will never get over nerd dad Bowser though.

Looks like you people forget that Lucina was literally a Marth-costume until they made those minimalistic changes that would disturb the Matrix the statistics. Decloning her would have made 0 sense at all, she's only in as a bonus in the first place, not meant to cost a lot of animation-work. So be happy. I admit they could at least have changed the idle-stance, but her having shieldbreaker is actually pretty cool...especially since it oneshots shields with barely any charging WITHOUT needing to tipper it X)

(I never understood why the didn't give the clones some of their originals custom specials as standards though... like giving Lucina the lunge-modification for shieldbreaker as a standard move, for example.)

I personally like Lucina in smash right now because of being a clone that is a good character in the original game and manages to enter this one without stepping on toes.

If not a clone, I would have been pretty annoyed about Fire Emblem getting two newcomers from Awakening while Lyn is still assist trophy and other series haven't gotten anything.

If not a clone could have also meant no Robin, and I very very much prefer Robin.

But since instead she's essentially a freebie of an awesome character, I can't complain.

Also, it bears noting I'm of the school that if I like the character I master them regardless of gameplay. I was pretty garbage with Link, but when I found and implmented a Nephenee skin for him on Project M, my desire to play the character well did wonders for my abilities.
In that sense I can see myself performing better with Lucina over Marth.

As long as I have fun playing as characters I like, I'm fine with the game as it is. Moveset clones don't detract from that. My first Smash was Melee and had 6 clones out of 26 characters. This game has 6 clones out of 51 characters.

A lot of them can barely be called clones anyways. The only true clones now are Dr. Mario, Lucina, and Dark Pit. The rest are pretty different then the original.
