I'm so confused in terms of what I want to play right now. :4robinf: looks so good, but I wanna try :4palutena:. Other than that, I would like to learn :4zss:, :4bowserjr:, :4duckhunt:, :4peach:, :4yoshi:, :4wiifit:, :4ness:, and :4darkpit:.

I'm fairly certain I've said it here before but these are the characters I plan on playing a lot:
:4robinm::4myfriends::4megaman::4charizard::4palutena::4ganondorf::4sonic::4shulk::4wario2::4link::4samus::rosalina:

I wouldn't have put Link on that list unless I played the Demo though. The changes with him are pretty rad. I love his new running attack.

My main list has been fairly stagnant; however, when I first saw game-play of Robin, I was instantly turned-off. I thought that she was going to be a strategy based character at first (that fits her personality if you know what I am saying), I thought we would have to manage our tomes and the Levin Sword, and I thought that she would generally be weaker unless you used her properly. I was incorrect. Apparently you can just spam extremely powerful spells and the Levin Sword regenerates in a manner of seconds... oh and you can have more powerful aerials if you want. I removed her from my mains list... at first. I am honestly coming around again. If I want to play a character that actually requires me to use my brain, I can just use Shulk or Rosalina.
Then you'll be happy to know that Robin seems to be both easy to pick up and advanced. He's not overly tricky as to alienate people who just pick him up, but he's got some tricks to him that'll take time to figure out and will reward a smart Robin player.
:4lucina::4robinm::4duckhunt::4falco::4ness::4roy::4bowser::4greninja::4charizard::4villager: and Reggie.
I don't see Reggie in your sig...

I am very thorn about playing

:4robinf::4palutena::4zelda:, maybe :4sheik:

or

:4bowserjr:/:4roy: :4pikachu::4villagerf:, maybe :4duckhunt: and :4megaman:

Decisions are hard. v.v I am leaning towards the first group, though.

Potential Mains: Link, Duck Hunt, Robin
Potential Secondary: King Dedede, Charizard, Ike
Just to clarify on my list, it's not a matter of "and", so much as "or".

So ultimately, it is quite literally a main and secondary. I am 100% content to play just one or two characters in a game.

Though I'll always be willing to play something to be silly. DK dittos are hilarious on the 64 version.

Beat me to it. That's the one! I've played around on it quite a bit in my spare time, actually.

Thanks! You should cook up your own list on that site, I'm curious to see how we differentiate.
Thanks! I've been meaning to ask for about a day now, but haven't gotten the chance. Wow, it's simple and nice. I'm looking forward to when the English names come out.

Ha, I tried to limit mine to about ten, but I got carried away. I'm actually playing the game right now and I want to main EVERYONE except for Pac-Man, DK, and Sonic, but alas...

Edit: I was a doofus and forgot to post the picture:

Are your potential mains also potential secondaries? Or do you prefer to use a zoning character as a main and a heavy-weight character as your secondary?

Wow, way to complicate things... But seriously, I never would have thought of it like that. That's actually pretty cool.

I notice the Jigglypuff hiding among your Ganondorfs. I love her. I've never liked using her in Smash Bros game, but suddenly I picked her up for this one and she can do stuff. I just had an online match where I carried a Pit so far off the ledge that he couldn't make it back and then for the second stock I did the same but got a blast zone KO. I'm no veteran professional Jigglypuff player, but man she feels great to use in this one. And, she's extra-cute to boot- even cuter than any of her past Smash Bros incarnations. I love her little frown when she's Down Throwing an opponent and how she (somewhat creepily) side-eyes the camera in one of her victory poses. I am impressed with her.

That is great news, obviously I am a little worried after what happened to her in Brawl. But her new design is extremely cute and I want to use her once more. I have been practicing Brawl Jigglypuff in anticipation. Honestly, her rest nerf never bothered me, I can still KO with it fine at higher percents. The stale moves are what desecrate her viability. However, there is a secret weapon... I avoid using the wall of pain. B-air is extremely valuable as a kill move. I always f-air for damage and rely on her grabs. Sometimes I go for the YOLO rest... but who doesn't?

Either way, I am glad that someone who was never interested in her before is enjoying her. That is a good sign that she is changed for the better. Apparently her pound takes off half the shield. I believe that her ground game is going to be overlooked in the beginning before people realize the power of her up-tilt and shield-breaking pound.

Doesn't matter to me if they're good or not. If they look and feel fun to play then I'm going in.

The latter.

Primary choice, and preferred play style: Zoning, ranged combat
Secondary: Heavyweight powerhouse to contrast my primary choice. Mostly for competitive reasons, but it's also therapeutic, at times.

I hate playing two characters with similar objectives. I rather just focus on getting good at one.

Leave it to me to go and main a good portion of all the animu characters :-)
Definitely have these characters set to be my mains: :4shulk::4robinf::4lucina::4palutena::4ness:
My 'secondaries' are: :4villagerf::4jigglypuff::4bowserjr:/:4lemmy::4drmario::4falco::4peach::rosalina::4megaman::substitute:

I am fairly certain that my list will shrink, but these are just the characters I'm most interested in playing.

My main requirement to play a character is that they must possess a sword or sword-like appendages.

I can't seem to quit my need to have hilarious disjoints and hitboxes.

Mains: :4charizard::4robinf::4rob::4zelda:, maybe :4lemmy:

Secondaries: :4gaw::4falcon::4wiifit::4lucina: and :4shulk:

Apart from Captain Falcon, my mains and secondaries tend to alternate in each game. In SSB64, I used Samus and Yoshi alongside Captain Falcon, whereas in Melee I added Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, and Marth to my repertoire while abandoning Yoshi and Samus. When Mewtwo was cut in Brawl, I moved over to Olimar and R.O.B., and started using Mr. Game & Watch more often than usual (which was almost never in Melee).

Has anyone seen what happens when two Robins shoot Thoron at the same time?
Do they collide or what?

I have no idea who I'm going to main in Smash 4 yet. All I know is that I have a tendency to lean towards more defensive and passive-aggressive characters.

For reference;

In Melee I play :sheikmelee::peachmelee:
Brawl is :olimar::toonlink:
Project M is :ivysaur::roypm::sheik::peach: (I know Roy is generally seen as more of a agressive character then anything else, but let's be honest here, only Sethlon can pull that kind of play style with him. I think that due to how easy he is to combo it's better to DD camp like Falcon does along with WDs and bait your opponent out as Roy has a sick punish game with his amazing combos)

I still don't know about 64 either.

Who I end up maining in Smash 4 is up in the air. But I am looking into; :4bowser::4ludwig::4charizard::4darkpit::4dedede::4duckhunt::4greninja::4myfriends::4littlemac::4lucina::4miibrawl::4miigun::4miisword::4palutena::4robinm::4robinf::rosalina::4sheik::4shulk::4wiifit:

Great choice. I miss my Pokemon Trainer dearly, but Charizard helps to heal my heart's wound. I don't like heavy characters, but for him I make an exception. He's fun to use and Flare Blitz KOs early.
I know the feeling.

Ivysaur was actually my favourite character from Brawl. With how many new options they gave me for projectile-users, I can't say I mind.

Ugh, while I loved Brawl Ivysaur, Project M Ivysaur was sooo good too! (and Roy...) And Squirtle was so fantastic. Gah! And go figure, people were saying that Ivysaur was impractical because he was quadrupedal, but we have Duck Hunt.

But I do agree with you. I've gotten so many characters that I like so much (like Robin and Duck Hunt) in this version that I really can't complain. If I want my Ivysaur, I'll just play Brawl a bit.

The question on which secondary I should choose is becoming increasingly clear.

Preach it brotha sista!

Pokemon Trainer was alright for me to use, but I feel as though Solozard is a massive improvement over what we had before. I feel sorry for the fans of Squirtle and Ivysaur, but it was a sacrifice that was necessary to gain our beloved orange dragon fire/flying type. Pokemon.

EDIT: Lemmy Koopa, welcome to my ever-changing list of mains.

...What? No, don't get the wrong idea :4charizard:. You're still my number one favorite reptile, and :4robinf: will never let you out of her loving sight. :b:

Yeah, Solozard is much better now and feels great. I did almost tear up at getting the Ivysaur trophy- it's so cute and I just thought of what could have been.

Lemmy and Shulk are both outstanding, so don't feel bad for liking them (Robin and Charizard are slightly more outstanding though :p)

:4robinm: sounds so...weird.

Not to mention his "Prepare yourself." line sounds utterly pretentious.

Are we still talking about mains? I suppose as we approach release, that list becomes more and more apparent.

Potential mains: :4ganondorf::4lucina::4drmario:
Potential secondaries: :4jigglypuff::4littlemac::4falco:
Characters that I am interested in: :4robinf:"******* to my left.":4charizard:"******* to my right.":4zss:
Characters that might replace Robin: :4duckhunt::4shulk::rosalina:
Characters that I cannot just not list because we have such a history: :4link::4zelda:

I always main Link and Zelda in addition to Ganon, the Triforce must be complete; however, despite their various buffs, I am honestly not sure if I want to maintain that tradition. There are so many characters in the game that I am interested in and as many continue to assert, it is not possible to main half the cast.

Ganon is Ganon. I am confident in Lucina as she is my favorite Fire Emblem character and I have vast experience with the play-style through playing Marth and Roy at various points in time. The lack of necessary spacing will probably make her the easiest to master (I never mastered Marth or Roy). As for Dr. Mario, he was one of my secondaries in Melee, I did not give him much thought. However, in the Smash Demo, Mario is a monster, if the good doctor plays reminiscent of Mario (I would be willing to bet that he does) he is worth the consideration.

As for secondaries, these are more niche characters. Jigglypuff's dominant air-game or Little Mac's dominant ground-game? Both appear to be viable at the current time and I am fond of both of their characters, that is important to me. Jigglypuff is pretty much guaranteed unless she is worse than she was in Brawl. As for Falco, unlike most space animal players, I actually preferred both Fox and Falco in Brawl. They were easier to manage, I suppose. I doubt I will ever "main" Fox or Falco, but I will always be adept with both, even if they are not my secondaries.

I could not play Charizard or Zero-Suit Samus in Brawl as they were not their own characters. In the case of Charizard, the mechanics attached to Pokemon Trainer bothered me and in the case of Zero-Suit Samus, I did not enjoy selecting her prior to the battle. To this day, I am not sure if you are supposed to hold L or R or LR or Z or LRZ. As for Robin, obviously I am interested. I would not be here if I was not. I have my concerns, yes, but we shall wait and see whether or not I was actually correct. I want a character that requires thought, yet I do not want a character that I have to micromanage, that is the inherent fear of mine regarding Shulk or Rosalina. It is the reason I avoid Olimar like the plague.

I am aiming to play 6-8 characters at a high level. I do find this possible, perhaps I will not be the best with any of them, but I do enjoy having options available and I do not want to grow tired of any given character. Choosing mains is not as big of a problem as I typically play at a casual level; however, I am interested in taking this game a little bit more seriously than past Smash games. So I have to find that balance.

Tl;dr- :4jigglypuff:
