Which I do prefer, to be honest. Robin isn't supposed to be an intimidating force- he's the brains and Chrom is the brawn. And, as a short guy myself, it's good to see shorter characters get the spotlight sometimes.

In Smash, they're the same height and build.

I was referring to Robin's Male Body 1 model from from Fire Emblem Awakening which was the same height as Chrom in the games. Default Female Robin in Awakening is head shorter than default Male Robin.

I hope for Chrom doing cameos in Robin's victory pose animations akin to Doc Louis being in Mac's. Not holding my breath though, but it'd be a lovely showcase of both Robin's and F!Robin's bonds with Chrom (whether Bromance or Couple)

I thought that might happen after seeing what they did with Little Mac and Doc Louis. Makes sense, really. It's nice to see that they're giving Chrom a lot of care and attention despite not being playable.

Although I imagine that this will make Chrom supporters upset...

Zipzo posted his impressions about Robin:

He has two swords, the magic and the non-magic one. (Forgive me, not an awakening veteran).

All of tilts are using the physical sword. They have good combo ability. All of his smashes use the magic sword, which has an electric effect.

When in the air, if you use the inputs for a smash attack (and you still have the magic sword available), you will do an aerial that uses the magic sword. If you just typically hit an aerial he will use the normal sword.

You use up your magic sword quite quickly but it regenerates rather fast so it's not like it ruins your tempo. Very fast.

The fire move we've seen is actually a fireball that comes from above robins head and rains down in the vicinity in front of robin. His neutral b shoots and electric lightnig bolt straight across the stage.

The healing move is his down b and you would be surprised to know it heals for a LOT (I healed for about 20%) and it stuns your opponent while you heal. It has a start up though so it's not as easy to land as any regular grab. I can see Robin being a PAIN IN THE *** to people who can't avoid getting caught in it. Unsure if you can force break it from slapping buttons, I only played AS him.

His up b jumps up a bit and shoots wind slicers down. Important to note it's actually not straight up, he jumps jump and slides slightly to the side in the direction you're facing THEN shoots them down, so it can be a ground option too.

Reading the translated lyrics gave me some goosebumps. It perfectly represents Robin, it matches his character, captures Fire Emblem as a whole, and it gives the song more meaning.

Nosferatu healing for 20% damage is nice, though I wonder if it's from the front or the back. (If it's from the front... )

Also, good to know what actually happens when you use Elwind.

It's all automatic.

Sad, but I think if you're really lucky you could still score a KO with the automatic back toss. Winning a match by using that is my personally set achievement for this game.

He/She (not sure) also stated that Robin's pallette swaps are just that. They do change hair colour and tint the robes, but not style.

You could still use magic attacks (b moves) when you lose his magic sword. The magic sword only dictates the properties of his smash attacks only. The magic sword literally recharges in like 5-7 seconds. I'm really not kidding here, you hardly notice it gone mostly but I can see it hurting in a pinch. Use it wisely! He is the only character I know of that can do attacks in the air with smash attack inputs.

So the time it takes for the Levin Sword respawn would be like the same amount of time it takes to reload a belt fed machine gun in a FPS online game.

There was that final game showcase where people saw different color swaps. Robin's were just changing hair color so I think these should be the colors for both genders:

Based on this, it doesn't sound like Robin's "limited item use" gimmick is something that will to too crippling; rather, it will just be something you have to be aware of. You won't be able to go around spamming specials and smash attacks, like you could with any other character, without dealing with consequences. Robin will have to be played a bit more tactically than most characters as a result.

Basically, this is what I imagined when using the character. Seems not as restrictive as I expected, however.

I'm not surprised by that Nosferatu start-up lag. It'll probably be near impossible to use outside the hustle and bustle of four person matches.

One little nugget of information that I don't think Zipzo has mentioned about Robin. My friend was playing against a level 9 CPU as Robin the the single player booth. During the match he used up all his charges of Levin Sword at which point Robin automatically throws the sword away. Here's the fun part, though. The CPU actually grabbed the sword out of the air before it hit the ground and disappeared. Stunned in shock, my friend then took a levin sword to the face and was KO'd at about 70% give or take. So yes, you can grab Robins sword after he throws it away. Not sure about hit spell books, though.
