hi guys just wanted to share a small discovery about Robin. Keep in mind that Smash 4 is my first competitive smash and I'm learning new tech so maybe this is already known but I thought I would share it for those who do not know.

Edit: Dont know why but the thing submitted before I got to finish. Anyways so I've been practicing aerial mobility with Robin such as b-reverse and B- wavebounce and all that good stuff. I noticed from playing Robin that a lot of the time when we charge thunder, the only options are to shield, roll, spot dodge, or grab. I recently discovered that if you hold shield and pess jump with x or y, it doesnt matter if you shield you still jump. Finding thins out I incorporated it unto the B charge and sure enough, it works.

So what this means is that when you press X (jump) and L at the same time, Robin will cancel the charge and immediately jump, without having to put up a shield first. This means that if im b- reversing my charge to try to land and the opponent think I'm gonna roll, i can throw any areal attack instead. I've only done this on my 3ds since I havent gotten a chance to try it on the Wii u due to school so I dont know how it works on the Wii U. Still a useful tool that gives more options when charging thunder. Sorry If it's already been discovered though I thought I would post it for people who didnt know.

so I finally got to the true ending of MGS5 last night, after almost 70 hours of playing. Damn, mission 43 was painful :/ The twist at the end was interesting, it was like the sort of thing you should probably have seen coming way in advance, but still don't quite expect it.
I won't be going for 100% any time soon
because I used the butterfly emblem to avoid mission 45 and Quiet leaving, and I don't plan on taking it off
but I might run through some more of the side ops and higher-difficulty missions, just because the gameplay is so much fun. Plus MGO is launching soon (if not already up?), so I might give that a try too.

I think that's just jump cancelling...

What is Anther's like? Is it bad like For Glory? xD
Way better than For Glory for practicing matchups and the stage selection process. Your mileage may vary like with anything else but I have alot of good experience from Anthers outside of some salty people every once in a blue moon. If you do play on there please have a LAN adaptor.

it's much better in my opinion You can play sets of three or five with people there, and most are more than willing to give back constructive criticism with the built in site chat system. Plus, almost everyone is actually good. As in no "for glory stereotypes" of course, i'm sure there are a few that are there. If I'm not mistaken I also believe it can help you locate players that are close to you as well, should you want to enter local tourneys, assuming there are any near you.

Ah really? Well like i said something small and I'm still new to this type of thing. :) At least I can incorporate this into my game now.
It's not quite jump cancelling, but it is known. There's a thread in the boards somewhere on it.

So it's a website then? Link? I might give it a look myself. Sounds interesting.

I had heard Anther's Ladder was almost as much, if not a worse salt mine than FG, because of the chat box and people down-voting anyone they lost to. Though I haven't any experience with the site myself (since I figure it's mostly Americans who wouldn't play me because of potential trans-Atlantic lag), so that's just based on other people's accounts.

There are few gaming moments as powerful as mission 43. Also, don't forget to watch the cut ending on youtube, because it's actually kinda important.

I actually have not heard about that. Most of the people I face are pretty nice. Then again, I haven't actually won on Anther's.

Cut ending? I had heard that there was a lot of cut material (mostly Snake's dialogue), but I didn't know there was actual video of it. I'll have to look that up later.

I'm in the middle of watching these and I must say you have a very nice Robin under your belt. You're pretty good with your spacing and staying patient in those matchups.

I also can't help but laugh in that 1st game of the 2nd set where one of the commentators mentioned how that Ixis guy has a habit of SDing with his Sonic. The local Sonic player in my city also has that unfortunate habit and I couldn't help but laugh at that remark.

But yeah, very nicely done with your Robin play and you really wowed the crowd. I can really see you making it far.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you think so, I'm pretty happy with my Robin's performance, I think she performed better than my Marth. Now I just need to deal with the tournament nerves, and I'll be all good. :3

And hah! Sonics always tend to SD I've noticed, I felt really terrible for 8va in the 3rd set. But yeah, that Ixis dude is one of the best Sonics in the EU, so I'm happy to have taken a game off him! Even if it was followed by a 3 stock in his favor.

But yeah, thank you! The crowd was going nuts! :drsad:

They were there... in my hands... at a mom and pop game store... physical copies of Xenoblade Chronicles and Radiant Dawn...

But the dream could only be looked at... and not obtained...

They were not worth 75 bucks each... not on a college man's budget...

So close...

So close...

So, I've been playing a lot of Smash recently. While I was playing, I managed to get a lot of cool photos. Here are some of them

HNI_0021.jpg

Spirit Bomb!

HNI_0065.jpg

Your lack of Strategy amuses me.

HNI_0054.jpg

That moment when you realise you're not going to make it.

I've got some more that i'll show later. This will go for now :) Enjoy!

Should've used Pit and Pittoo atleast once each.

ZeRo won 6 games, and the first 3 Nairo blew because he wanted a fair game(NEVER GO EASY ON SOMEONE BETTER THAN YOU OR STUFF LIKE THAT). Naito used MK and Pink Fem!Robin...lost...still list with Zero Suit. TK Breezy and D1 were confused the whole first set, and thought he'd bring out Pit(since he does better against Shiek than Dark Pit does). In the end, Nairo lost(didn't choke this time I think)and screwed up BIG TIME
Oh, so what like everyone else said. He sandbagged.

I'm glad your happy
If they some how figure out the legal issue that surround him, then I would say he along with Wolf will be the next VETs in Sm4sh
I hope you have a damn good time Unknown. :)
I hope so to. I feel like it's going to be an adventure!

*insert PBG adventure joke here*

I am also one of those fans and I approve this message. :wolf:
Glad you approve :)

Wow, Matsu, you have a really nice Robin there and you played really well. Nerves can really get into you in a tourney and can really become a problem but after some tournaments it goes, sometimes you need to find something to concentrate or to relax. A lot of people listens to music when they're playing, I do it when I'm feeling nervous and I hear music from other videogames, it helps me a lot, maybe you can try it in your next tourney.

Thank you very much! Yeah, I'm hoping the tournament nerves will go as I attend more tourneys! The fact that there was a huge crowd during my streamed matches and even my matches that weren't streamed kinda made me like !!!! damn. It was fun, though! :3 I should definitely put some earphones in next time since I see quite a few players do it, and music usually motivates me in general anyway. Thank you so much for the advice! :drshrug:
