I wouldn't say the entire game. But it makes playing the Hoshido version pointless. For what reason should the Avatar ever choose Hoshido now? The whole blood vs loyality thing has been thrown out of the window and the theme has become inconsistent just because IS doesn't want to upset whiny people who treat incest as the end of the world.

Honestly, just do one game as Nohr or the 3rd path as the main game and you wouldn't be missing out on anything. And I was interested in the Hoshidos story as well(not as much as Nohr but still excited). A shame that they had to choose this kind of option.

Why would anyone choose Hoshido now? Kind of makes me mad for the Hoshido hype but oh well still have the other paths to enjoy.

The fact that Kamui isn't fully related to anyone from Hoshido kinda ruins the entire concept of two families living as two sides of the same coin; loyalty and whole blood. I'm not sure whether or not they decided to "change" it due to the whole "incest" thing becoming something problematic amongst the fanbase. That said, I dislike the fact that Kamui isn't completely related to the Hoshido family, I enjoyed the idea of Kamui being indecisive, whether he/she should go with their "real" family or follow the family of loyalty.
