Probable scenario. More time travel/ Parellel dimension bull. Future children become new staple of series. Fire Emblem Games make progressively less sense and end up like Final Fantasy, to shoehorn them in.

Let's boycott Hoshido. Well, maybe Boycott is too strong of a word. Just hear me out.

Alright let's get started! We all know that Hoshido IS the easier version in this split. Nohr has been shown to have harder objectives and whatnot. Now why would Intelligent Systems make one version harder than the other? Why not make both STRATEGY games have equal complexity and depth?


The answer is simple. They are gauging the market. Hoshido represents Awakening fans, the new blood of the series. Nohr stands for the traditional setting of Fire Emblem, the hard turn based strategy. In this case, every customer will be voting with their wallet. Whichever side gets more moolah will be the side IS caters too. Money talks in a way logic or design does not.

Some may argue that it doesn't matter. The two game system will continue, and we will always have a "Hard" Fire Emblem and an "Easy" Fire Emblem. I disagree. Such a model is not sustainable and fiscally stupid. Why make two games when one will make most of your profits?

In the end, Fire Emblem Fates will determine the Fate of the series. It will determine how it will turn out in the future.

So how do we change how Fire Emblem will evolve?

Its quite simple. Money talks. If enough people boycott Hoshido or even wait a week or two before getting it, it will send a message to IS. We all buy Nohr, to show that we want a more serious linear plot with more advanced strategy.

I know about the Nintendo Dream Leaks. I know how many of you are not going to buy Fire Emblem Fates as a result. But all of you who plan to boycott Fire Emblem Fates entirely, you are part of the problem. Your voice has no money behind it. To IS, your opinion does not matter. Buy Nohr. Only Nohr. Maybe the next Fire Emblem will be more the way you all, we all, want it. But it won't be unless the Nohr side gets more support.

To those of you who are going to buy both versions, go ahead and do so, but PLEASE, buy Nohr first and Hoshido after you beat it, even if its just a week later. Opening week sales are SUPER important in judging the fanbase.

So if marriage and kids really is gonna be in Fates/If, how are they gonna explain it this time? I'm fine with them including it, it's just that I'd rather that they don't just have 'em come from the future again. Wouldn't be terribly fun if they re-use too many details from Awakening. Not like you have a whole lotta options for explaining why your grown-up child is suddenly there and ready to fight for you, but.....

I know, it makes the story incredibly inconsistent if it ends up having time skips, but it's the only logical, non-time travel or stupid way to explain their presence.

From what I've been hearing, the children thing may be optional and/or not relevant to the main plot? If that's the case, I can live with it (even if I'd have preferred if they weren't there at all). Still going to be awkward to explain them being there at all, but...

You know Moydow, I actually wrote out that request. The only way to express our opinion on Hoshido or Nohr is to vote with our wallet. I love fire emblem and want it to focus more on strategy. Um, was any part of what I wrote rude or offensive? If so I'll change it. I tried to be as neutral as possible.

What if there's a cool bundle with both games at a cheaper price and a nifty bonus though?
I might end up buying both games used as I'm not a supporter of the divide the game in 2 separate versions, I mean, that whole "you get the content of 2 games" and "the game would cost twice as much if put into one" is very silly to me, I highly doubt the production costs of the game are that high and I doubt having more content into one package is a problem. Like, if a games value was measured by its amount of content, imagine the prices we'd see on the industry? Gaming would become an even bigger luxury than it already is. Alternatively, I might buy one version first close to release and the next used later down the road, it all depends on the games availability where I live and my current economic situation.

That's what it seems to be. The first source was supposedly from Nintendo Dream. The second source is supposedly from Dengaki which, before the scan leak, their cover said that they will be talking about Marriage.

Kanna's dialogue:

*The difficult part is that 外 means both "outside" but can also be read for "other" world. It is usually for "outside" though (same character in gaijin, for foreigner)

If it is outside world, maybe children are kept in My Castle for awhile until they reach a certain level? xD

I do Like Xenoblade better then FE. FE is good, but Xenoblade's soundtrack, story, characters, and feel are just incomparable.

Would it be too much to ask to actually have both FE styles? The marriage/world building aspect can be for the handhelds, which have a bigger install base and tend to take a less attached effort that handhelds accommodate for, while "traditional" FE can be on consoles where we going to sit down and go the distance with anyway.

There's no reason to dismiss one over the other. No one really has a inalienable right to demand that one side of the fanbase be completely ignored and snubbed at forevermore.
