But Fox on Yoshi's Story has a perfect waveland from the ledge. Shine to cancel ledge grab, and then jump. You get a perfect platform waveland on either side automatically.

you dont have to shine, you can jsut grab ledge and then wave land onto platform

you can do this on battlefield too

siletn wolf claims he can do it on DL too (but i think that may have been falco)

He isn't talking about waveland to platform. He is talking about wavelanding onto the ledge. Atleast that's what I understood. I perfect waveland with Falcon all the time. (Well, I don't know if it's perfect...) You just gotta drop down low enough and when you jump time it right.

No I mean the platform above the stage. The jump is perfect so you get a perfect waveland. I found that the shine to cancel ledge-grab gives me the perfect setup to do this.

Wow wrong quote. xD

Ohhh

...can't you do that anywhere if you're fast enough?

it just makes it easier on yoshi's because of the slant.

Cryptik: the problem with dropping that low is taht you lose your inv frames, so you can get hit while you waveland.

Lol, I don't do it while I'm fighting. I normally do it after I take a stock. Moonwalk to ledge grab to waveland looks mad sexy.

Oh yeah, you can do that. I'm gonna show you how to take it one step further. Try wavelanding on the platform so that you slide across the whole plat and fall off then illusion. You should ledge cancel the illusion on the other platform. It's pretty slick.

Platform ABOVE the stage. As in one of the three platforms.

Another trick I know with illusion ledge cancels is with falco. It's pretty awesome. On battlefield Ledgehop backwards (away from the stage) illusion. (It should ledge cancel on the first plat.) Illusion again and ledge cancel on the second platform then jump and illusion and ledge cancel on the middle platform.

It's all good.

And other dude, I'm gonna try that for myself, nothing wrong with flashy in between stock movements. =p
Try which trick? The falco triple ledge cancel or the Fox YS waveland>ledge canceled illusion?

Seeing as this is the Fox boards I assume you play fox. Or second him.

No, I'm just picking him up right now. I don't know much about fox. I can drillshine combo and waveshine combo very easily though, and that's always fun.

I was referring to the triple ledge cancel.

I'm in a computer class. It ends in 10 minutes. xD I finished my work like an hour ago.... >.>

@smoke- Yeah the triple ledge cancel is pretty slick. It's a pretty safe way to recover. Like just do the first ledge cancel and when you slide off B-air whoever is edgeguarding you. It will probably only work once though.

theres no way u could do that on yoshis without dieing :/

Also, referrign to the first post, you dont need to shine from the ledge, you can easily ledgehop to waveland on yoshis or battlefield to either of the lower two platforms on both stages. no shine required

It automatically sets me up for the perfect height, it's much easier.

well, im telling you that ledgehopping also sets you up for the perfect height, and is actually easier because it requires less button inpput, therefore minimizing chances of error.

but hey, whatever floats your shovel :ohwell:

my guess is you're hitting down to let go of the ledge, thus making you fastfall just a little, thus putting you out of range.

whereas the shine stops your momentum at the point where you would need to be to do it right. But if you instead hit -away- on the control stick or used c-stick to drop then it wuld work better.

yea you can do it on DL, but BF is a lot easier. YS is just auto lol

also, yes if you illusion from the end of 1 platform on YS, you will edge cancel on the far side of the opposite. its as easy as falco's on PS.

I use c stick to drop when i wavesash onto the level/ledgehop an aerial. Sometimes it makes me dair of the ledge in to an sd when I do that though.
