That is so untrue I don't even know where to begin.

I have 4 Aunts/Uncles move in with their partner before getting married years later, and ALL OF THEM have said that it never felt real until after they got married. They were happy, but they weren't content. They felt like something was missing. They all wished they had gotten married sooner. They don't know why, but they never felt truly together until afterwards.

The divorce rate is high because society has confused love with lust. The lust and physical appearances blind people to who the person really is, and by the time the physical attraction wears off, they realize they don't like how the person really is. If a couple truly loved each other, they would want to sort out their differences and make their marriage work, not just "break up with extra paper work".

Back to the original topic, according to the Bible, sex is a mark of union and is only meant to be done after marriage. If done before marriage, it is called fornication, and is heavily condemned multiple times throughout the Bible, being on the same level of sin as ****, adultury and other immoralities.

Based on that alone, the religious people should want LGBTs to get married because it is WRONG to have sex before marriage... which is what ends up happening because of the laws that prevent them from getting married. If they believe LGBT marriage is wrong, which is worse? Sex before marriage, or a same sex married couple? At this point , you have to pick the "lesser of two evils".

Regardless of what your aunts and uncles experiences were, it doesn't make my statement any less true. Marriage is nothing more than social contruct created because the societies that support it are STRONGER. That's it. Imagine a society where no one gets married, and everyone stays single all the time, constantly competing for partners, and most men are depressed and fatalistic because a few powerful men monopolize all the women. How much gets done? Nothing. Societies that favor marriage simply lead greater amounts of production.

That's marriage on a bigger scale. But what is it on a smaller scale, aka between you and your girl? Is marriage for you? Is it for your girl? Do things actually, you know... change now just because you're married? I've asked people who have been married, and they tell me, no, it doesn't. You don't wake up the next day and now she's someone different, or you are. You're still the same exact people, and your relationship is still the same exact relationship.

So if you gain nothing from this, who are you getting married for? Answer: society. It's for other people. You're doing it to PLEASE them. It's for your friends and family, so they can say "Oh good, he got married! Now he'll be alright. Whew. I was starting to get worried." Marriage is a way of giving you a false sense of certainty. That you'll be together forever, no matter what happens. And more than 50% of the time now, the promise gets broken. And of course every single person thinks that THEIR marriage will definitely be different. Because nobody gets married thinking he or she will ever get divorced. And yet, the majority of them do. Their marriages end, and they leave each other. It is nothing more than a pointless ritual, not some ultimate event.

One of the biggest things that annoys me when when I'm cornered by these devout Christians that constantly preach and assume they know more about the Bible, Jesus and God than I do. I don't mind them preaching to me, I mind that they think you know more about my old faith than I do. Jesus had nothing to say on sex before marriage (fornication), nor did the Hebrew Old Testament. In fact, the only place in the Bible that fornication was condemned were in the epistles - letters written by the disciples of Jesus to communities of the devout in various cities like Corinth and Thessalonica. This is not the words of God or Jesus, they were simply concoctions made up by his followers. I don't know about you, but I'd be far more interested in listening to the word of Jesus himself, rather than listening to other people who presume they speak for him.

The Bible was written and retranslated by like thousands of different people across generations and continents. this makes it easy for religious people to cherrypick verses and lines that suit their own beliefs and disregard the rest. it's pretty impossible to follow The Bible to a tee because you'd become an utter paradox.

Arms are bruised, head is sore (hit the back of my head on a stair)
I guess I hit my back pretty hard because muscles on my back hurt

I am for sure xD I've had my fair share of head injuries(2 or 3 concussions....wooo), and nearly had a panic attack when I felt my head hurting. Luckily, dad was there to make sure I didn't have a concussion
