Did you even see rom 3?

have you read anything in the best player thread by hbox?

Stfu.

It's like saying taj or germ would be the best players if they mained high tiers.
Wait a second wait a second wait a second....

Did you just say IF Taj mained a high tier?

.....

Get off of these forums. Right now.

I believe shiz was the answer to that question.

I understand the OPs point about Mango but not about everyone else. In general, if you are not a huge name in smash(99% of peeps)you are trying to prove yourself. You are confusing arrogance with a john.

Even if you're a big name in smash, you're constantly trying to prove yourself if you want to win every tournament you go to. Right now, Dr. PeePee is the epitome of hard work and determination. In my opinion, PP more than just about anyone else deserved to win RoM3.

Hands down, Mango is the best. He's beaten any accomplished player you could name with his 2 best characters or his random *** characters. After seeing teams at RoM3, I'm convinced that mango's falco is still one of the best out there. After seeing his set with Hbox, I'm convinced that he doesn't care as much as he did at Pound 4 or Genesis.

People who doubt mango's skill need to go watch more videos.

he is still the best

but i find it interesting now that the question is even in discussion

its due to his sandbagging

i think people with true eyes for smash skill still know. LOL. he freaking RAAAAAAAPES so much, his playstyle is godlike

i think overall

armada amsah m2k pp hbox have gotten nearer to his level.

mango is obviously the best, but i don't see what mango not caring about the competitive scene has to do with melee's overall livelihood. to be quite honest i thought pound 4 was gonna be the last "big" tournament but the melee community proves me wrong over and over again.

the best player fading from the competitive forefront has happened in other games plenty, and it's happened in melee too with ken haha. doesn't mean anything

it's definitely gonna be years before mango gets topped though

Even if mango is still the best, does nobody else think its gay when he sandbags and loses when he could easily win?

I just don't get it, seems really insulting to me....

Insulting that he plays for fun?

As far as I can tell, he's Mr. Tryhard until he pays for his trip, then he plays with his fun characters haha
Maybe we'll see Mango's Falcon take a national someday o_O

When you play someone with all you've got, wouldn't you find it insulting if they were messing around while still beating you in tournament? Tournament matches aren't the only time you can have fun.

If you can't beat someone's secondaries, doesn't that just mean that they're like .... waaaaaay better than you?
I certainly wouldn't find it insulting o_O I mean ... if you can't beat someone regardless of the circumstances ...

Most people have a sense of pride for the game after putting in years of work and mango just stomps all over that.. I find it wrong but I guess others don't?

If you have pride in your skills, show it by beating him.

The only people who would be angry are people who can legitimately beat Mango's secondaries who aren't getting a chance to get a legit chance to beat his mains in a tournament setting, but Mango isn't really at fault. Why should he care, he's just playing for fun ~_~

I swear you are now trolling me. That last post didn't make any sense at all and I'm done with this argument, as it is getting nowhere. Unsubbing.

Isn't he just messing around in friendlies to learn new things?

I mean, not that someone SHOULD play to the fullest.

Some people play to the fullest ALWAYS, and learn that way.

Of course, I wouldn't let my pride get in the way of smash. Mango's secondaries that he plays around with might own me super hard, but maybe that's because he already has some general melee knowledge, but doesn't have the feel for the character yet?

Or maybe I just don't know. He still somehow ***** hard lol. Even with mario.

Maybe we should play the way he does at tournaments... not SANDBAGGING, but experimenting new things.

Yeah tourneys are a blast no matter how you do, or how hard you play LOL.

In a lot of ways I'm glad I sucked at Genesis, cuz I had a lot of fun just watching everybody and talking to the community.

People have all sorts of reasons for the things they do. I really wouldn't read into it too much. You can love Melee without wanting to fiercely compete all the time.

Yeah because the Melee community wouldn't be able to exist without Mango and M2K, and RoM and Pound are like the only huge tournaments there can ever be.
LOL'd sooo hard

The "I don't care about this game anymore" john.

This john makes me ****ing sick.
i have said this and meant it with my soul ... but thats also wat made me host ROM 1 ... i still haven't been able to take the game serious since i'm usually hosting the event i'm attending.. but i try to refrain from saying things soo umm discouraging for a community that i work for to see strive and stay alive ... i love you guys too much ^_^

but i totally was talking about this to a few people today actually ... and i've come to the conclusion ... it really shouldn't matter to anyone about what someone says after they LOSE! ... u should focus on winning and just that ... BTW i get really mad when i see people sandbag and i mean really sandbag like mango cactuar djnintendo ... like it kinda makes me wonder if its a defense thing to just fall back on so they wont feel so bad when they actually do lose while trying ...

but like i said all we should worry about is winning and making them try by just winning and when u win tell them u want them to try ... if not w.e keep winning and they'll come around when all the fans are like "hmmm so and so is winning alot?!"

Mango has just been fooling around so he can get trained up because he knows Armada is better.

sandbaggings not that big a deal. Sai i love you but your argument was ********. If you lose to someone sandbagging then it just means you need to step it up and force them not to sandbag. If mango wants to see if he can beat you with one hand playing pichu and only nairing let him do that. It's his sense of competition. I'd feel more disrespected if someone camped the edge for 8mins vs me =PPPP

Wenbo's right, if you beat them when sandbagging and really wanna try them at their highest potential thats when it kinda sucks. But still, its up to the player if they wanna sandbag or whatever to increase the challenge.

I semi-jokingly use that against my little brother, but in my defense it's totally true! :bee:

I think it's more because he wants to keep up this facade that he is a much better player than everyone else. I'm happy that him losing to Hbox at DGDTJ are making people wise up a bit.
