This is the thread for Link players to post up their tournament results! Not only that, feel free to discuss about:

• Upcoming Tournaments
• Experiences you had at the tournament
• Who and what characters you played against
• How well you performed at the tournament
• Any other achievements such as being power ranked
• And congratulate your fellow Link mains!

Here are some tips when you're at a tournament:

• Don’t be afraid to ask the pros for friendlies and advice
• Play as many different people as you can
• Bring an SD card and make sure to play on hacked Wii’s with the infinite replays code so you can save all your matches to be viewed later by us!
• After the tournaments, writing shoutouts to all the people you played is a nice complimentary thing to do.

I recommend reading SCOTU's guide on "Your First Tournament - A Guide to Making the Most of It" if your going to your first tournament.

Where can I find a tournament?
To find the nearest tournament it is important to find your local Smash scene. The players you'll find in your smash scene will keep you up to date with any smash meets and any upcoming tournaments that are happening. Start here and navigate yourself through the Regional Zones. If you still have trouble finding your scene, send me a PM and I’ll help you out!

Organisation and Rules For Posting Results
The way I have decided to organise where your spots will be is by which ever player has the most recent tournament result. So if player B has a more recent tournament result then player A, then player B will be bumped above player A.

The result of each player will be ordered by the most recent tournament first.

Guideline for posting results: Try to fill out as much as possible

Tournament Name:
Location and setting of the tournament: Setting = is it In Person or WiFi?
Date: Use name of month instead of numbering it
Event entered / Character Usage / Placement: Order your character usage from most used to least used

Man it's so empty in here

I got a tournament up next Sunday, it's on a fail date (on the same day as Mother's Day and some giant music event), so attendance will probably be low. I'm expecting at least 15+, which is not too bad.

I haven't been playing so well lately because I've been reinventing my Link and I haven't played too much, so I really don't think I'll do well this tournament. Also I've dropped Link in doubles for Jigglypuff because Link + DK really isn't a great team. I hope I can find a way to make Link epic in teams one day, but for now I'll go Jigglypuff because she seems to do quite well.

Doubles was weird, I don't know what to do anymore. I used Jigglypuff more because it's better for the team and my partner really prefers me not using Link, but part of me really wants to use Link. So I'm caught in this dillema, we tried out ROB and Link and actually did well. Perhaps that could be something in the future.

In singles I got mega ***** by swordsaint's (aka Lv9Neckbeard) Falco, first match he three stocked me and second match I don't know what happened but I still lost. I'll post up that vid for critiqueness.

There was this one match where I had insane DI and lived up to like 277 percent against Zxv's Peach. I lived through a fresh sweet spotted Usmash at like 150 or more on the battlefield platform. In the same match I managed to three stock him when on his last life he did an Uair and I did a Dair and they both traded hits with him losing out first in the end.

In pools I got quite ***** against Khoa's MetaKnight 0-2, but I managed to 2-0 everyone else in the pool.

I beated Meteor Master's Sonic, he's like a PR player. He didn't go MetaKnight because he didn't want to play that matchup.

I ended up getting knocked out by Nanda's (Nandactyl) MK, 0-2. Those matches I saved.

So yeah I don't like the MK vs Link matchup. But it was strange in friendlies after that I managed to consistently beat them with Link.

Tournies got canceled >_> but at least I bought a Haunter.

Lame except for the Haunter bit.

Supposedly the Marth vs MK matchup is close to even. I was learning for a while; then Palpi quit online, and I didn't get any progress against MK after that.

I'll look into those tournaments at my library to see when the next one is. Hopefully I'll soon be able to contribute to this thread.

While it is off topic, Marth vs Mk is at least 4:6 in MK's favor.

But that's the average bad ratio with MK, so it's not that bad for Marth in comparison to some of the cast vs MK.

Two weeks I'll have a result, so sit tight and I'll work on getting more placements.

Ugh, I hate fighting Meta Knight so much...

Actually, I randomed Diddy a while back against my brother (who randomed MK), and did very well, not only against MK, but also as Diddy. I'm considering seconding Diddy just for the obnoxious MK fight, but it takes so much out of me physically to play Diddy (ha, I have to psych myself up by yelling "BANANAS" almost constantly through the match or I start slowing down my pace), and I don't like him as much as Link.

277%?! Nice DIing, Scabe. That's one of the things I love about Link; being able to routinely live until 200% or so.

I didn't do so well this time. I've just been having a giant depression with Link. I still haven't found something that works with Link.

Edit: I'm thinking of taking out the entry fee. It's not that important to know and can be somewhat confusing to post up since there's things like Entry fee, Brawl Singles + Doubles and other fees.

I dunno, I doubt anyone checks but if you see this let me know what you think.

It worked with some people, but for people who were harder, Logic and Darklouis I had to go Lucario.

I fail and facing Wolf and Olimar.

I don't have as much trouble against Wolf since I play as him a lot and know him pretty well, but Olimars always beat me. He's the only character whose moveset I honestly don't know. I didn't know he had a spike until just recently :/ That's what I get for refusing to use Pikmin at all when I random him.

As some of you guys may know, I've got a tournament on Sunday. For doubles I'll be teaming up with a Samus player.

I think I've improved a bit from my depression, but after watching the matches against Zxv that I had, I still do alot of dumb stuff. I really need to work on reading my opponents, and stage knowledge, DI and much much more.

Hopefully I place well and beat some big names.

I'm back from the tourney. Despite me complaining about not knowing how to play Link, I ended up coming third. Got some replays with the top players, and the Samus + Link failing horribly in teams. It was a really fun tourney.
