Do we have a Facebook group for Tassie smashers, if not I'll make one. A tournament scene in Tasmania is doable for sure, there's me and 2 of my mates that would be in for sure. We will also be able to provide setups. Yeah so basically, speak up Tasmanian's, let's make this happen!

as for the old timers of the Tassie smash scene (ie. myself, Bob, Len, ect):
I will be down in Tassie over the summer holidays, kind of sure that Len will be down for xmas, Bob has been talking about a holiday down there for 2 years now, Monkey is doubtful (money johns), Bryce and Neon might be down but idk their plans plus they are from Hobart so i doubt they would travel up, but you never know.
As for the rest, with Bob, Len and myself down we could talk some retired folk into coming but don't hold your breath.

So yeah, but none of us will be available for anything until summer, but let us know how it goes.

Bryce is Sloth fyi, and the Tassie scene died from the state dying economical and there been no jobs there, but feel free to blame us too, QLD has a far better smash scene and is a better state in general, but i have very fond memories of the old days

yeah Tassie got destroyed by the GFC, so many jobs gone and all the tiny crap jobs like customer service all got eaten up by either old people that lost their job or the young and cheap.
Bob, Dino, Monkey, Sloth and Neon are all from Tassie and live in Brisbane, Len moved to Townsville, technically Ben BS (Scrubs) is from Hobart as well and lived in Brisbane but moved to Sydney end of last year.

Good news, it seems like Area 52 in Hobart will let us set up there along with some marvel players who are friends of mine. Nothing is confirmed at this stage but it seems very likely. Hopefully we can get some sort of regular meet-up along with tournaments going there.

Oh wow, a Tassie scene. Good to see!
My family is situated in the north west (out side of devonport) so if I ever head back home it is generally to that area.

Next time I travel back home I'll be sure to see what's going on. Sadly it won't be for a while as annual leave has dried up from work. But I'll keep my eyes open on this thread for any major events in the future ~!

Also Neon is originally from Ulverstone, you only knew us Dino when we lived in Hobart as Uni students !

Wonder if Chooker is keen to play again? He is in Launceston still afaik. Maybe I should hit him up on Facebook.

if you guys can get a scene going again you have our support but the remaining members of the old Tassie crew are all in a different state so our support is available on our holidays

No you didn't, I just read bout u guys on smash wiki, and I learnt of Dino cus he posted one day and I was interested to where he came from. (or I'm just a stalker idk)

I forgot about smash wiki! I guess that's what happens when you leave the scene for about five years!

I'd recommend if you want to make this the main thread for Tasmania is to update the front page will power-rankings like you'll find in other threads (See 2nd post in QLD thread for example). That way we can at least know some of the players that exist currently.
And then see if it can get a sticky

It will at least show the scene is a bit active for both potential players looking in this thread and for the rest of Aus.

I know the original Tas thread back in the day got pretty active! So try to get everyone you know to start comment and organize things via the thread as well as off-line world and Facebook group for Tas. Just standard promotion stuff.

We are holding Project M tournaments, but as of now I'm focused on the Hobart tournament we are planning on running. Once that is over, I'll see what I can do!

We want to hold a Smash 4 tournament early on, so we think that it could be the perfect time to hold Project M and Melee tournament as well.

Not yet, if we don't have a solid date by mid october-early november than I'll try and get the tournament held sometime after february because we don't want to run in to troubles with all the other majors that year

Only issue with mid october / early november is Pax Aus, which is 31st til the 2nd of November. Anyone from here attending that?

Alright everyone, its official the first ever Super Smash Bros for 3DS tournament in Tasmania is happening, with melee as well

Mad props to Basty, I remember been 12 years old in Tassie and hosing tourneys was just piling all my friends in my bedroom ..... Also for melee
Side note, the Revival of Melee tourney is called ROM, so the Revival of Tasmania should be called ROT .... amusing

Finally, I should be back home in Tassie for summer (mid December to early February) so let me know if any tourneys come up, preferably in Launceston though, I don't wanna travel all the way to Hobart just for a tourney, but that's me being a whingy *****

I'm planning on holding a tournament this month, I want it to just be a tourney for launceston players to meet up and play for the first time, also it is planning so it isn't concrete
Also i am thinking about making it a monthly, so to launceston players, what do you want?
