I actually think DK's smash design is pretty good, all things considered. He's a high momentum character which really reflects how he plays in DKC. His dash attack really goes a long way increasing his burst range and keeping him more ground based then Bowser who loves to jump a lot more.

The thing I think he's really missing is a barrel throw attack, since like it or not his arcade game is what he's actually best known for. If a full projectile is too much it can be an attack where he smashes a barrel over someone's head directly. Swap out his side special for it. Or if they wanted to be really risky it could be a slow projectile with a ton of start up and little end lag, allowing him to run behind it to approach - but at that point we're heading arguably too far into rushdown character territory.

His Coconut Gun is iconic to DK 64 and only that game. It's not really synonymous with the character outside of it. If it really had to be incorporated into his moveset though, I think a short range blast could work. That said I think Diddy has the gizmos and gadgets area covered well enough.
Sometimes I wonder if it would be balanced if he could literally just summon the barrel item. An empty one that doesn't release other items, obviously, but still one that works just like the regular spawnable item.

They just copy pasted the original english script into the Battle network Legacy collection.

All the typos and bizzare mistakes and all, even the previously Japan only Boktai chapter has ****ing spelling errors.

I wouldnt have it any other way.

Which smash characters do you want to see changes in their movesets next time?
These three I feel need the biggest overhaul :ultlittlemac::ultganondorf::ultsonic:

Otherwise most of the echoes could also use a bit more differences in their moveset

I think it’d be if it was slow and unspammable, as well as have a secondary function as a command grab (trapping opponents in an open barrel with the lid in the other hand)

I don't think :ultzelda: needs a complete and total overhaul but I'd like to see some of her tools reworked to synergize more with Phantom Slash. F-smash, dash attack and Fair work really well with it (and are fun moves in general), so keep those the same.

But give her better anti-airs because while U-tilt is good, her threat bubble has some really awkward blind spots in the air. Part of that is Fair's fault, but if Nair has a better hitbox or if Uair was closer to her body I ruin she'd improve a lot. Or maybe swap out Bair for a good anti-air (it'd be sad to lose a lightning kick, but two is kind of excessive.

But the move that need a rework the most imo is Din's Fire. It's always been too slow to be an effective zoning tool but now it's almost completely overshadowed by Phantom Slash. Even as an edge guarding tool, you're usually much better off just setting up a phantom ledge trap, or to protect you while you go offstage for a Dair. I like the idea of making it a slow but powerful explosion around her, more like it actually works in OoT. Not so much because it'd be more loyal to how it works in that game, but because a big, powerful hitbox works very well on trap characters (it's the reason Dedede's Smashes are even usable).

:ultpiranha: has such a fun and inspired moveset...which is why it's such a shame how lousy gameplan it has. It's got a very potentent anti-air game, but no way to make you jump. It's got a very powerful ledge trapping game, but no way to push you into the corner.

A lot of zoners are designed to make you jump by throwing projectiles and then punish that with anti-airs. Maybe Plant can be the inverse of that - countering jump ins with Ptooie and Down Special and then punishing grounded approaches.

I say give it invicibility or armor on dash attack so it can use it the way Palutena does. It'd make sense since it lunges pot first. Also allow its poison cloud to make enemies flinch - if that's too powerful they can lower its damage or duration. Then give it a spacing forward tilt to round things out and give it a less commital anti-dash in move.


Anyway I'll watch the Zelda trailer later, I'm on data right now.

Either that is VERY odd lighting, especially with the glowing necklace and magic, or this is incredibly ****ing yikes when taking Ganon's VA being a white guy in to account
