I 100% the Switch version like 5 years ago and recently finished Remake and the Yuffie DLC. Still one of the best RPGs of all time both ways.

And **, the white male demographic is pretty huge, so I can see how it’s become so widespread and successful.

It’s ****ed both ways man. These two extreme sides of the culture war are such a vocal minority that it’s all that blows up on my feed nowadays. I could hide on Bluesky, sure, but I’ll still be exposed to one side regardless.

False hope? I think you are being pessimistic, too pessimistic, in fact. I believe you said it yourself, you are autistic, not that it is bad or it means anything, but so am I. I do know more things and am more hopeful, and I am knowledgeable about a lot of things. Plus, like Pink Yoshi said, humanity is resilient, and being resilient is a part of life, to a species or any of its members.

I’ve thought about running for a local office when I reach the appropriate age.

I ain’t got the moolah for college, and I don’t think a degree for me is absolutely necessary. All about who you know versus what you know. I’ve got a stable managerial job for a college dropout, so I’ve got something. Just gotta make it last.

Do you realize how short a hundred years is? Thats like, one person’s entire life. You really think the entire human race will be obliterated by then? That’s some supreme pessimism, man.

Society is a pendulum. We go back and forth and back and forth. I guarantee you people were saying the same doomsday stuff back in the George Bush years, and then we had Obama, and now we’re here. There will be more good times, and then more bad times, and then more good times again. That’s just how to goes, and we have to do the best we can in the meantime.

So no, I’m not gonna stop joking, and I’m not gonna stop believing in good. I’d rather be a tentative optimist with a sense of humor than an ever-spiraling doomer, constantly yelling about an end to society that isn’t coming. At least not any time soon.

I have felt what you are feeling now, but I know things can and will get better. Like what was said in the song, “All Hail Shadow”, it’s never over, just another day. Life and what happens in life always continues. Nothing ever truly ends. You just need hope. You can’t let the bad guys win or decide your fate. You just have to oppose them all that you can.

Well, I beat the post-game Elite 4. Honestly, the first 4 fights were pretty easy. It's just fighting Lance at the end that sucks since you can't get Ice Punch without grinding for BP in the remake. In the OG, you get it in Goldenrod and you can cook most of his team without much trouble. Since I went with the same team as the OG Silver, it was a good point of comparison. Though if I wanted slightly different playthrough team, I'd nab Swinub as my 6th since he'd be the Anti-Lance fight. I already had one or two team members that could sweep most of the E4 themselves, and Poliwrath as a nice back-up.

So yeah, Lance was an issue cause that ***** had 3 different Pseudo legends/600 club members and a fully evolved starter that was fast as hell.

I still have to grind up a bit to get close to Red's levels cause his whole team is in the 80's.

This legendary game needs no introduction, but how many people here have played it I wonder? FFVII is a fantastic game that the Nintendo crowd has been able to enjoy for like 5 years now and boy does it still hold up. The story is fantastic and nothing like the early 2010s youtubers told me it was gonna be like, especially in regards to Cloud, but the story really feels as great as it does because we have a simply fantastic cast of characters to follow around, I thught it was just gonna be Cloud talking about how sad he is but no, you start this game that's filled with whimsy alingside the serious stuff by blowing ** up in the name of eco terrorism, and Cloud is actually a really interesting character! I also adore Barret, especially in the remake, Yuffie's hilarious and I adore Aerith, who the internet told me was just a dumb pink girl who gets stabbed when she'll threaten to rip a crime lord's ** off to his face. The music is also utterly fantastic and the gameplay? Whew. Knowing most people here are Nintendo fans, you know how the Djinn system in Golden Sun works? It's kinda like that, anyone can equip any materia and it'll give them spells, abilities, passives, a bunch of stuff and change their stats a bunch. While the cast do have preferences for what roles they fullfil, you could honestly do anything you want with them for damn near limitless combinations, my only real issue is how you can only have 3 party members total, so whenever you go through the story, only 2 characters can react to the story in minor but charming ways. A must play to be sure, but the Switch version actually has a few cool things, in game cheats! Pressing the joysticks lets you get have full HP, MP and Limit for as long as it's active which is nice to prepare for a boss with or to grind Limit Breaks. Triple Speed, which is selfexplanatory, and no encounters for if you feel annoyed, though doing this will have bosses kick your ass if they deal more damage than you have health. I won't judge on using these, but please do play this if you can. It changed the industry for a reason

I do wanna say something; when I first played the game, I was blown away that there was far more than just Midgar.

I played this game in 2022.

My gang was Cloud, Yuffie, and Barrett; looked for Yuffie immediately after unlocking the world map, and after that they ran the table. Yuffie also ended up being my favorite.

OH GOD I HAD A WHOLE COLLECTION OF THESE

I don't think I had any of the original ones. I just got a bunch of "mini" versions that could make sound effects, light up or do other stuff from either McDonald's or another fast food restaurant.

I donated them eventually because they ultimately couldn't do much, but part of me actually kind of misses them. Cheap tie-in versions of the real deal or not, I actually liked them for how unique they looked.
