I just beat Bayonetta 3. The game was great, pretty much what I was expecting... Up until the end of chapter 13 and most of chapter 14, where it took a sudden sharp downturn.
I could go on a rant, but to sum it up, it's like most of the game was written by the same team as the rest of the franchise, only for the last chapter or so to be written by one person who was really pushing for a tragic and romantic ending with Luka as their self-insert OC.
Also, a ton of major plot details are only explained in post-game character bios - I believe that was the case to some degree in previous Bayonetta games, but it's especially bad here. (We don't even learn why or how the villain is doing what they're doing in the game itself)
On another note, the game totally wasted Jeanne, between shoving her into a side mission that turned out to be completely pointless, killing her off abruptly, permanently, and with little to no fanfare, and giving her no alternate outfits despite her having at least four to work with in this game alone.
