IIRC, Cartoon Network was also the first ever channel of it's kind to focus entirely on airing cartoons.

This probably isn't truly the end for CN yet, but it's definitely a sort of end of an era.

What is going on with Cartoon Network is a bummer but for the longest time I can't push myself to watch the channel anymore because all they pretty much play now is The Amazing World of Gumball and Teens Titans Go and I can't stand either of those shows.

Cartoon Network Studios is being merged with Warner Bros. Studios, in other words, all but done for.

Cartoon Network isn't gone but Cartoon Network Studios however is actually done for with the merger. A bunch of employees got laid off.

Sounds like CN Studios will be merged into the WB Animation, I know other stuff is also going on at WB too, but that one guy is the biggest bag fumbler I've heard of this year.

1) these rumors were wrong and put out as a a scare tactic by people who want to make the situation worse or actually thought they were true.

2) might be they laid off certain employees across multiple studios, but not with the intent of shutting down those studios. As much as I hate to say it, could totally be them removing more racial diversity from the sounds of things, but I hope not.

Until proven otherwise i'm going to assume Smiling friends was cancelled because of all the layoffs.

It’s already confirmed for season 2 and the Brazil special aired right around when Discovery stepped in. I’m guessing it’s still being worked on because of how big of a success it was.

I also enjoyed Courage, Flapjack, Adventure Time when it was actually good, Steven Universe before it on a year-long hiatus, Dexter's Lab, and Tom and Jerry.
