DLC 1. Side Order

The New Year is off on a good start so far. Volunteering at the animal reserve as usual, finding my purpose in life which is helping animals every Wednesday and Saturday.

On top of that, I decided to give Transformers One a shot. Reason I avoided it at first was due to all the bad Transformers movies thanks to Michael Bay as well as how the trailer to the film was which turned me off, but apparently Paramount is just bad at its marketing that I ended up missing what could've been a good experience at the show.

Definitely one of my favorite movies from last year and I'm not even a Transformers fan.

Then my father-in-law invited me for coffee at Tim's and went down this morning, we socialized and talked.

Later going downtown to my local comic shops to see if there are any new Godzilla comics.
Funny you should mention Transformers One because I just watched the film with my parents and it was still an amazing film.
Sadly my mom can't get into the idea of Transformers and I'm not sure how my dad feels. I got lucky with them liking Godzilla Minus One and I was hoping lightning would strike twice.
Some theories as to how my Love type would effect the game...
View attachment 397409
  • Fairy would return to being the best type in the game. With Steel now kept thoroughly in check by Love, Fairy would essentially have cart-blanche to run rampant on the competitive scene now that people are keeping their eyes out for Love types that could cripple their Steel types.
  • Since the Steel-loving Tera mechanic would be gone as of this new gen and they're strong against the new Love type AND the newly successful Fairy type, Poison would soar in its viability, and would maybe even reach top 10 status, perhaps even top FIVE.
  • Psychic would also see a return to form, with a new type that it completely dominates. Bug follows closely behind, with a new type it handles very well, and with Psychic returning to the meta, Bug would see a large increase in use to handle both Love and Psychic.
  • On the other hand...Steel would obviously take a hit with a new type built entirely to counter it. But it'd still remain viable for the most part as a counter to Fairy and the three types that counter Love.
  • The biggest loser would probably be Dark. Love, as I've mentioned, dominates it, and Fairy returning to full strength gives it two very powerful types that counter it completely. It might well join Rock at the bottom of many tier lists due to just how much Love's addition screws it over. Sorry, Greninja.
  • As for Love itself...I'm thinking it'd be a pretty healthy top 5 type. Not sure where it'd be in said top 5 - like I said Fairy would probably become #1 again, and potentially Poison would join it in the top 5 due to how it counters Love and Fairy both, while Steel would probably remain somewhere in the top 5 alongside probably Fire.
I know I've talked about this like five bazillion times, but man I just really love theorycrafting. I love thinking about how ideas like this would change how the meta stands. Wolfey will never see this to give his two cents, so I'll just talk about it myself.
Is there a site where I can make a fictional type using this format?

Have you introduced them to the MonsterVerse films as well? K:SI still holds out as the best of the five films IMO.

I watched K:SI with my dad and both of us really enjoyed it.
I remember watching the first few minutes of GVK on HBO Max as a test for our new tv and my mom was not interested.
She's not into dumb fun stuff like the Monsterverse nor violent/scary stuff like Alien though I'm still shocked she liked the John Wick films.
Is anyone else scared of 2025?
You're not alone on that front.
Uuunfortunately I actually edited this image myself. Believe me, if I had a website that I could make fictional matchup spreads for, I would've definitely used it.
I had ideas for a Magnetic type for quite awhile.
Would you mind if I DM them to you?

I’ll be bowser’s princess!

I’m not attracted to him, I’m just really desperate for financial stability.
Completely valid and honorable of a reason
I don't think Bowser's rich, why else does he keep spreading the word of communism in Mario Party?
The rich can’t love communism in the Mushroom Kingdom anymore?
Great time you said this. I know how.you feel about the unneeded eggman dance party scene
But I have to admit....he was hitting that **** hard

Sometimes I think that Bandai Namco's "Cross" series dying with dignity on the 3DS is an admirable move. The crew that worked on those games left Monolith soft after PxZ2 was released. The series should remain ended (like MOTHER), without the intent of making a third part.
But I have two wolves inside me, this and my classic "Sonic/Pac-Man/Klonoa for PxZ3"!

I post in a Sonic facebook group sometimes and I just saw someone post that the Sonic movies prove Sonic was meant to be a film/tv series and is being held back by being a video game. Then they called Sonic “gaming’s biggest punching bag”.

I'd prefer seeing them in this thread, if you feel like you're able. I'm pretty shy about private messaging.

You know what bothers me?

Ho-oh's signature move, Sacred Fire, has a 50% chance to burn. That's an incredibly powerful effect. Heck, people use Scald just for its 30% chance to burn.

So what does Lugia get? Aeroblast, a move with only a 12.5% chance to crit. Those cowards at Gamefreak better buff the crit chance up to 50% next gen. The poor guy only has 90 base special attack. He needs the boost.

Ok so this may come across as me moving the goalposts but I was tired when I wrote that message. I think being "cute" is also a very common trope for femme coded Pokémon

There is plenty of female coded pokemon that arent focused on Being attractive. Hell, Nidoqueen and Kangaskhan is right there, they are cool as hell
Technically they do fit my criteria but they are also from Gen 1 and therefore kinda aged as designs in my opinions

See, the problem there is that you're looking at the opinions of random people on facebook

Facebook is not beating the boomer allegations, and they are stuck in 2010s on top of that. You should not bother with what they say.

Also extra ironic to hear people say that after the banger that is Shadow Generations

Speaking of, it's gotta suck being normal and living in the Sonic universe.

Like imagine you're just chilling in your apartment, and the urban planning crew decides to turn the nearby highway into a loop-de-loop that for some reason connects and goes through your building. And also half of the park behind it was torn up for a bottomless pit.

And imagine driving to work but for whatever reason there's a corkscrew in the middle of the road, it leads into the inside of an office space, and just ends by dropping into oblivion.

The most normal part is Route 280 which even then is open despite having multiple holes or lack of walls to let you fall to your death provided you survive dealing with the bat crashing into everything in her phallic car, killing every driver she bumps in to

Bro lives in the water
In the Whirlpool Islands
Is commonly associated with the ocean and diving underneath it

Is a Psychic/Flying type

Lugia's just weird, and I get why it's weird since iirc it was one of the last Gen 2 Pokemon made, but still.

Made a pretty goofy VGC team with Tera Ice Mewtwo with Blizzard. It's supported by Alolan Ninetails, Indeedee-F and offensive Regieleki.

I figured if it can't be a better a better Psypammer then Calyrex, it can at least be a better blizzard spammer. It's 100% a closed team sheet gimmick though.

Lugia is a defensive Pokemon first and foremost so I think it makes sense its signature attack isn't as strong as Ho-oh. Though Ho-oh does end up having the better stat spread overall; Impish Ho-oh + Regenerator is nothing to sneeze at.

Sacred Fire is way better defensively too though. Burn halves the opponent's attack and gives them a damage over time effect. If anything Aeroblast is the more offensively inclined move.

In hindsight, I think part of the problem is just that back in Gen 2 a move with a 50% crit rate probably would have been way too powerful. But after they nerfed crits in later gens they didn't buff Aeroblast to compensate.

In the USA, you should definitely worry, but don’t jump straight to being scared. An unrestricted Trump will take office in 16 days and is openly bragging about his plans to hurt this country across numerous sectors. Despite that, we currently live is the safest and calmest of times the world has ever experienced.

It's totally fine to be worried about this year, especially with the eletrump in the room. But, dwelling on your worries is only gonna make you feel awful. And there's a lot about this year to be excited about. New movies, new games (including Legends ZA!), new experiences just waiting to be made! And personally, my big hope: Exotic Escapade potentially coming out this year!

It's alright to be afraid. But remember, every year brings not just bad, but good things too. And I think it's good to look forward to those important things.

Aside from my usual 'joymongering' though...

Random thought

Yoshi was apparently a beast in the Mario baseball games, but it's due to his fielding and baserunning abilities. If anything, he should've been a great pitcher instead :yoshi:
May I just say your avatar is flawless :yoshi:
